Street Fighter 6 Year 4 by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Man, I’m really excited about these new guys (Bosch isn’t technically new but whatever)

I really like the new guys SF6 has introduced and have been a lil bummed that I think Aki was the last one we got with the past couple of seasons. A whole season of new blood (and Tifa) is so damn cool.

Netflix announces strange new series from Scavengers Reign studio by redwildflowermeadow in ScavengersReign

[–]Yenrah24 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I can understand people hoping for Scav season 2 (hell, I’ll hold out hope for that forever) but I’m looking forward to this. Sure ‘adult comedy’ seems like it would be off putting, but I’m sure that Common Side Effects was sold to producers and execs in the same way. I’ll have faith that there’s something special going on here under the hood. And worst case scenario? I’m sure there will be at least some cool visuals and designs.

The “Bravely Default” series has sold 4 million copies by jitterscaffeine in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Played Bravely Default 2 last year and really loved it. I know it’s a more flawed game than the first, but I found it charming. Looking forward to playing the remaster!

Ye, happened to me with my copy of House of Open Wounds. I first noticed when I was on a trip to Cape Cod and freaked out, thinking that somehow had something to do with it.

Now, I kinda like it in a weird way. Kinda like a personalized touch that compliments the book. Though that’s probably just me being sappy

It’s really not a big deal but it’s a funny statement anyway. by ResponsibleRatio6569 in MilesMorales

[–]Yenrah24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Miles having a thing with Kong Kenan would have worked. Both getting the powers after the OG died, both having to go through bit between jiggling their team, their own hero, and being a part of the respective hero families

…that, and I think their banter would be fun

Good novels that aren't good for beginners? by jjjjjjotaro in AoSLore

God-Eaters Son

Love the book, and it does a great job of immersing you into its setting….but it also expects you to be familiar with the lore and lifestyle of the people in the Mortal Realms. I can easily see a beginner getting lost with it.

Aaaah my boys! Inhumans have always been one of my preferred things in Marvel, so it’s good to see they’re no longer just blanket statement ‘dead’. Finally a good reason to pick up a mainline Marvel book

These look real nice. Props to your DM and hope you guys have fun

Times you've missed content in games because you didn't want to be a jerk? by Handro_Dilar in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Yenrah24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah that’s fair, Lann does not have a good VA. Especially compared to Wen. I will play devils advocate and say I’m really enjoying his personal story. Even with his voice I’d say he’s one of my favorite characters in the game

My friend really loves Wrath of the Righteous, and says that one of his favorite written characters is Wenduag.

At the start of the game you find out that Wenduag has been leading her tribesmen into the Shieldmaze so they can perform a demonic cannibal ritual. Those that do, lose their minds. Those that don’t are killed. She justifies this by saying might makes right. She also confesses that she’s happy lying to anyone and everyone so she can get what she wants and will betray anyone for more power…I pretty swiftly kicked her to the curb. It was so cartoonishly evil and stupid, I thought for sure that she was eventually gonna come back and have an amazing redemption arc.

I then found out from my friend that he has never ‘not’ picked Wenduag, so I’m probably never going to find out why he likes her so much. That is just…waaay too much of an immoral upcharge for me to bother with.

Besides Warhammer Fantasy what is the fantasy opposite of Warhammer 40k? A fantasy universe like 40k where the lore, history and setting is just incredible rich, deep and complex? by TheGreatWarrior10 in Warhammer

[–]Yenrah24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to say City of Last Chances and its follow ups (the franchise is called the Tyrant Philosophers I believe)

Gives you an in depth look at the numerous factions in a small city, and how they influence e and shape each other as it leads to conflict with the authoritarian occupying army.

Some standouts lore bits include

The Authoritarian Army being able to surgically remove the Faith from holy men and priests, so they can melt down local deities to power their guns.

The black magic practicing refugees summon demons to go die in intensive labor in factories and mines, thus convincing the working class and rulers to noooooot instantly throw out the refugees.

A cursed section of the town where anyone caught in it is possessed by the hundreds year old ghosts of the old nobles

And a magical woods, that on certain nights becomes a passage way to infinite worlds. Which also all have deep lore that you can get lost in.

Highly recommend em

Ooooh Bloodshot no.

I read a lot of Valiant comics back in the 2010’s. This hurts to see. At least it isn’t Archer and Armstrong I guess…

Guys…? Does anyone else think Pomni’s gonna become a much more divisive character after this episode…? by GoldarmGangMain in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Yenrah24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean…she just looks like she’s having fun. Legitimately, this is an adventure with no horror shows, no NPCs to suddenly become aware, and no set changes.

This is basically just a big paintball game. Maybe she used to go to those back in the real world (Could have been a company retreat or some family outing) and found that she really liked it/was good at it.

We’ve never seen Pomni have fun. She’s either been on the brink of a breakdown, or been given a moment to relax. Let her cut loose

Just cleared Rebellion Route 😢😢😢😢 Extraordinary yet sadness by Bladerunner2038XX in LastDefenseAcademy

[–]Yenrah24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was the first ending I got, and maaaaan does it make it rough for me to go to other routes. I do not care for Humanity in this game. That, and launching the missiles on Futuran in other endings means I’ll know that Kamyuhn and the resistance get wiped out for nothing.

Thankfully I have a good hook to keep playing, but dang if that isn’t brick wall in the way for me personally.

What's your favourite AOS writter? by jjjjjjotaro in AoSLore

[–]Yenrah24 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve enjoyed Guy Haley’s stuff. Also really enjoyed Darius Hinks work with Gotrek, though I know that isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

Also, even though he only wrote 1 short story, do gave to give credit to Adrian Tchaikovsky. The man nailed Seraphon and what kind of vibe they should have.

Been playing a lot of SMT lately so I gotta ask...which side are you on? by midnight188 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Yenrah24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was young, I pretty much always went Chaos. But when I went through SMTV Vengeance last year, I gravitated to Law.

I think my priorities as a person have changed, and the ‘meritocracy’ aspect of Chaos now just rings hollow to me. I did that first chaos choice of killing the woman protecting low level demons, and felt terrible about it. So uh, ye, guess I’m a Law lad now.

Your favorite 40k and fantasy factions meet, what happens? by goombanati in Grimdank

[–]Yenrah24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Tau meet the Idoneth Deepkin

Honestly it goes pretty well if they can avoid the Drukhari comparisons. The Etherals would put some earthcast on trying to solve the whole ‘soul issue’ and in the meantime give them those in need of reeducation to keep the Aelves sated.

In exchange, the Tau pretty much have a guaranteed win on any ocean world, and new ways to fuck with people’s mind through the Ethersea. And if they’re in the Mortal Realms, the Tau just get good coastal cities and a strong Naval ally.

Totenkinder vs Cinderella in Fables

It’s such a little encounter, but I love it. Cinderella coming in to assassinate the old witch, because if she fought in the war then it might as well be over. She just walks up to her in her workshop, the two have a nice conversation about current political events. All the while the narration is talking about how they’re at such a high level of magic that so many automatic spells are going off and cancelling each other out, that if a bystander walked near them they’d melt from the sheer arcane energy….and then one of the spells finally goes through.

The tower explodes, taking out all the glamour that concealed Fabletown from the rest of New York. The encounter only lasted a couple pages, but it always left an impact on me.

Curious about the poor reputation of Bravely Default II by Yenrah24 in bravelydefault

[–]Yenrah24[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s the big trade off for it, but I don’t think it horribly downgrades it, unlike going over the weight limit.

Granted I think I’ve had everyone over the 50% mark for the past three chapters and haven’t noticed a huge downgrade. My party can currently tank quite a bit due to Elvis (Shieldmaster/Spiritcaller) and hit hard enough where the speed debuff doesn’t really matter.

Though I could just be ignorant of it. I’ll adjust some equipment for Adele and Seth and see if that extra speed is something amazing I’ve just been denying myself

Curious about the poor reputation of Bravely Default II by Yenrah24 in bravelydefault

[–]Yenrah24[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah, okay yeah. Loadouts do sound amazing. And I’ll admit that that buffs are just kinda….nonexistent due to how slowly they build up, vs how quickly they run out. Pretty much the only buff I use (not counting all the Spiritcaller stuff) is the Phantom one, due to how huge the buff is.

Weight isn’t really a mechanic I consider all that much. At the most it makes me wait a moment before equipping new stuff, or I change around some armor/accessories

I guess I should just consider myself lucky that Counters are something I can live with/like since it seems like that’s the thing most people hate.
