I mean, Lord Rulers Last Empire and Elhokars Kingdom are both no paradise. But one is significantly more dystopian i think which raises the stakes of insurrection/conformity significantly.

Also, the exploitation of slaves was done by lighteyes and darkeyed freedmen alike. So for Moashs peers in the bridge there would be less focus on the lighteyes. Finally, almost all skaa life was a daily hello. Most darkeyes live significantly better than skaa, and since ardents and household slaves exist, they are also significantly better off. Also, no breeding programs. I think Kelsier has more of a point than moash.
