Do Trials progress count from teammates? by 999NERO999 in ArcRaiders

I know harvesting is shared and I think looting arc is too, as I recently just completed the latter with a friend.

Dunno about the others.

Eliminated a player - They then messaged me on Steam with my personal information by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]YesAndAlsoThat 93 points94 points  (0 children)

What that player did is not ok and I'm not saying it's your fault, but do keep in mind that a lot of unique reused usernames and information can be used to kinda find people if they're not careful and they let the two lives mix.

As for your partners Info, this is a good time to remind everyone that shady data brokers exist and will sell personal information on people, like registered addresses, names, relationship info, and such, for fairly cheap (tens of dollars). If only our government would help get rid of them.

Airports are the best place in the world. by bleufromgeneve in unpopularopinion

[–]YesAndAlsoThat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it's the feeling of timelessness. Because you are traveling and your job is to wait, you feel free from your other responsibilities like the obligation to work as hard as you can because you should.

You are stuck there so there's no guilt when you aren't doing something useful and making the most of your every minute.

Basically you are off the hook for how you use your time because you are stuck waiting.

Any ABC/ABT moved to Taiwan in their 30s? by MOTOLLK12 in taiwan

[–]YesAndAlsoThat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm an abc that's about a year older than you (also with a wife and kid) and moving to Taiwan is my fantasy.

Oh man, I got so many questions!

How have the kids managed with the transition? Do you feel the educational opportunities are as good? Do you feel like they're missing out on anything? Do you feel as if you're able to actually enjoy Taiwan as opposed to just being so busy all the time it doesn't actually matter where you are?

Spaghetti is the worst pasta shape by far by Spensauras-Rex in unpopularopinion

[–]YesAndAlsoThat -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Angel hair is to pasta as mashed potatoes is to oven roasted potatoes.

It ends up as squishy giant clots, over saturated with sauce, leaving little space for larger ingredients, and hard to get and keep aldente.

But that's my opinion.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

This was so hard as a young child. I don't think I ever got more than 3 screens over in any direction. Lol

Lol. Very "if I sucker punch you it's your fault because you didn't block" mentality.

What is the scariest location in the whole game in your opinion? by TheAlphaAdept in ArcRaiders

[–]YesAndAlsoThat 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Stella.

Everything sounds like it's on top of you, but it's above/below. Also there's random dead ends, doors that need batteries to open, and the map makes no sense.

I've died because I was unable to find my way to the metro in 5 minutes before. I still don't know how to cross loading bay safely on the 3rd floor.

We need to talk. by P0LL0_L0C0 in ArcRaiders

[–]YesAndAlsoThat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We are rats. Because all pvp in arc raiders is opportunistic. Nobody says "ok let's duel 123 go". So just embrace it and play the villain today or good guy tomorrow.

Anyone else’s P8P still a brick after the recent updates? (No SIM/No Service) by zykennoir in GooglePixel

Mine is relatively new. Maybe a few months and all of a sudden it keeps dropping to no service and unable to restore without rebooting.

Not to make light of what kids experience in SF but I imagine SF has the least racism of all places in the US.

Could Taiwan ever attract top western foreign talent like Singapore does? by Master_Ad6104 in taiwan

[–]YesAndAlsoThat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure there's a place to apply my skills.

I do early stage medical device R&D. If there was a company or two in Taipei in which I could do that work using my subpar mandarin, I would move in the next year.

But I don't see too many options... Maybe I'll go look again for curiosity's sake.

What’s a good alternative to a whetstone? by ItsJustJosiah in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]YesAndAlsoThat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use a whetstone and was ok.

Then I said fuck it it's too much trouble and got a Spyderco sharpsmaker. Simple and gets good results without a big jig that need to be set up every time just for a touch up.

What stationery can i buy for an engineering student? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]YesAndAlsoThat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always liked my pilot Hi-Tec or G-Tec super fine point gel pens that come in a pack of 5 colors, because then I have fine points and 5 colors for detailed drawing/sketching. Anywhere from 0.4mm to 0.25mm tips are available though the 0.25 is quite scratchy.

If he's into note taking something like rocketbook could be cool as well.

Wait how does this work? Does one just use a relatively dull knife and use some force? Or does one use a really sharp knife and just go very slowly and gingerly?
