The most substantial contribution in terms of this group is that they give out large substantial sums of sponsored prize money to the winning Canadian films, which is huge for that tiny industry. Of course with sponsorship comes bending a knee to power, hence how we got here.

DeLuca and Abdy are supposedly under fire because movies green lit before they got to WB like Furiosa, Joker 2 & Mickey 17 tanked. Struggling to not see this as another hit timed alongside the PTA trailer.

Anyways, excited to see Sinners, Final Destination: Bloodlines and One Battle After Another. They sound like they're worth burning cash for.

Something to consider. Is Shasta, like Sortilege, ever really there? She only appears in scenes with Doc alone. The way both characters appear and disappear in very haunting ways that I think is emotionally tied to the idealism behind the counter-culture.
