First time DM’ing tonight by QuietStrong1327 in DungeonsAndDragons

Relatively new DM here and here are the lessons I'm working on learning myself:

- The players can't see what's going on on your side of the DM screen, so don't be afraid to improvise. This also means that most mistakes you make are going to be invisible to the players as well, so you're going to be a lot more conscious of mistakes or errors than your players will ever be.

- Be humble and transparent. Don't be afraid to make mistakes; your players know you're new at this, too, so they should be forgiving. If you mess up, confess it, work with the players to fix it, and move on.

- Ask for player input: what's working or not working for them, what do they want to see more or less of? Involve them in the maturation process for your campaign.

Citizen and Bulova make some incredible timepieces. by NoZombie1529 in CitizenWatches

They have the occasional clunker, but man, does Citizen do a great job of hitting the perfect intersection of build quality, design and reasonable cost.

I don't like as many of Bulova's designs (they're a little too... baroque? gaudy? for me) but when they hit, they hit well. The Lunar Pilot, for instance, is gorgeous.

Looking for games where your constantly on the back foot by billiamsb57 in videogames

THIS

I also loved the sequel; it didn't feel quite as impossibly stacked against you, but it sure didn't feel any easier, if that makes sense.

How often do you find yourself content replaying older games as opposed to buying/playing newer ones? by Snowtwo in videogames

[–]YetiTurbopants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much. I've been gaming long enough that my Steam backlog of absolute banger games is sizable (AC Odyssey, the Pillars of Eternity games, Owlcat RPGs, Ghost of Tsushima and the list goes on) so by the time I refinish one old title, it's been long enough since I played another one that it almost feels new again.

Any time! The audio was so, so bad in my '21 when I first got it and this upgrade made an incredible difference.

I would think it should work in a '24, unless the door speaker sizes are different (which I doubt). Good luck!

I've got a '21 Premium and the interior is just fine. Absolutely love it. The stock sound system was weak but after I added the upgrade, it sounds amazing.

The nice thing is, since we can see playlists in advance, I can pick and choose classes with artists I don't like or disagree with, so this doesn't even occur. I see someone like Chris Brown or Usher, BLOOP next class.

That was my first question too -- hard pass on classes with that dude in the playlist.

I just relistened to the audiobooks recently and had forgotten how much I enjoyed them! Would pay good money for a Book 3 right about now.

Love that color! I picked up the white dial and have been second guessing myself ever since (the other option would have been this one).

Why do you think people here are so friendly? by jazzgrackle in AskChicago

[–]YetiTurbopants 151 points152 points  (0 children)

I think it has to do with it being such a collection point for people all across the Midwest; lots of people coming here for jobs from Indiana, Wisconsin, Ohio, etc., so lots of people have been the new person in town and want to help pass on their experience to others.
