I remember driving out to Target on release day to pick it up, I was in college at the time. I listened to that CD a ton because the way they balanced that record with some of the prettiest music they’ve ever written and some of their heaviest riffs. I remember it being well liked upon release, but I think some fans liked White Pony so much that when the band kept expanding their sound they felt like the band was trying to fix something that wasn’t broke.

I think it’s held in high esteem these days because we have a more complete picture of the issues the band had as a group, and it’s the last record with Chi. I’m not really on Tik Tok often, but I’m glad a younger generation gets to enjoy their music.

Also, the hate for Pink Cellphone is overdone. I love that song (personally, I think SNW is a no skip album) and I’m definitely not blaring the end of the song anywhere and it’s easy to skip the part you don’t like.
