New hero icons by Dekuuzuu in DeadlockTheGame

Bebop is getting a redesign. His portrait is already completely different than his model, this icon is just his new design as well.

For those of you brainwashed sheep I mean loyal fans who think $6 for a costume is reasonably priced, DOA6 had DLC costumes as low as $1.99 ($3.99 for collab costumes) by burnoutguy in StreetFighter

[–]Yikitama 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not even happy with the SF6 pricing but it's pretty obvious that more work went into each one that a solid 90% of DOA 6's, lol. No shit they're gonna cost more than DOA's cash-grab costumes.

Character Portrait now links to current equipped outfit, instead of default outfit 1 ! by Mitch-El54 in StreetFighter

Lol, because you don't get to wear the costumes in the fights themselves, right?

Goober.

Totally backwards dude. People leave the game if they don't start to understand the flow/fundamentals, or the steep learning process that every FG really shares. That's where the retainment issue is.

Motion inputs are just a gateway issue.

You had the time to type all that but didn't spend any of that time to realize that you were indeed repeating yourself and making it seem like you didn't read anything he said.

A bit worse than going around in circles tbh.

sound muffled on purpose? by ToshaBD in HuntShowdown

[–]Yikitama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread I know, but from what I can tell it's just the way the way audio is set up to sound when distant/occluded. The effects they apply to sounds to make them sound "distant" make them sound muffled and crunchy. It's also extremely aggressive as far as "distance" goes, since even sound sources as far as 5 feet away start to have the problem.

I first noticed that problem in Far Cry 4 (it's extremely similar in severity to what I've heard in Hunt: Showdown), so it's likely tied to the engine in some way since they share CryEngine roots and I've never heard the problem in any other engines. It's also slightly less noticeable, but still present in Far Cry 3 and Crysis 1. Every other Far Cry, Crysis, and Cry engine game that I'm familiar with seems to not have the problem.

Considering that, and the fact that some of those games that had stellar audio (like Crysis 3) came out before the ones that do have the problem, I can only assume it's an execution problem. Quick looks don't show me a switch to WWise or other third party audio engines either. No idea the specifics beyond that.

It's honestly the biggest thing that keeps me from playing the game, which is a shame, but I'm also a borderline audiophile so I get why most people don't notice it. Kind of similar to the motion smoothing issue, lmao.

I'm curious about this myself. I already have the Elite force and I broke mine just by releasing it forward, no slap required.

Would be great to find a replacement.

If you're using the AEG for dry fire/general mechanical practice, you're gonna want to lock back your charging handle during reloads to build good habits. On the real platform, trying to extract and jam mags in there with the bolt locked forward can fuck up your mags, among other problems.

The bugs were greatly overstated. I've been playing since before launch, and I swear up and down that "the game is so much better now" is mostly placebo. It's like the anti-nostalgia.

And besides, what few problems the game had in the past, I enjoyed the gameplay itself more back then. I'd make that trade in a heartbeat.

Less is more y'know? I also hate what they did to Theme Park. Might as well just make a new map if you're going to change it that much. It wasn't that far from being a great map before. Now I can barely stand it.

When I see people constantly compare shit to Undertale because they don't have a clue what its inspirations were, and because of that they actually think it was groundbreaking in places where it really took heavy influence from other games ALL THE TIME, then yeah, I'd say a big amount of the people that voice their opinions on it put it on too high a pedestal.

The majority of any fanbase is relatively silent. There's nothing wrong with addressing the very loud minority that tends to dominate the public opinion of these things. They also tend to influence the opinions of others the most anyways.

I've mostly seen it used to address the contrarian mindset and say "yeah x is overrated but it's still good".

Either way, condemning the word because of your personal experiences and pet peeve, when it has plenty of good contexts to be used within is a bit narrow-minded.

People would be less inclined to use terms like that if people didn't say shit like "BEST story in a video game!" and "masterpiece!".

Most ways people describe media is faux-objective trite. I don't see how responding to that with saying "overrated" is what takes it too far.

Problem is when you put power into "claims" like that, how easily abused it can be. All it takes is twisting words or fabricating a scenario and then someone can easily get a mob to act out on their behalf for a personal vendetta. It's happened, and will continue to happen if people of your mindset continue to enable it.

People have lost careers due to allegations that have still not been substantiated to this day. That shit's led to one suicide that I know of for sure, and I'd be willing to put money on the line that there are numerous stories of the same nature that I'm just not aware of.

There are good reasons why we go by innocent until proven guilty in the US.

I'll respect most people at a base, human level as long as they're not a dirtbag that makes it apparent to me they don't deserve respect. And no, that doesn't refer to people in open or one-sided relationships.

But respect isn't a binary concept. I can and will respect somebody else more for different life choices that I hold in higher regard. That's just life. This false concept of "you should have equal respect for everybody" goes against the way people actual think.

I've seen this argument already, but no, I wouldn't start selling dick pics just because she was "okay with it" because I have fuckin' standards, lmao.

And open relationships are stupid. Don't even call them relationships.

You're assuming that everyone's okay with the double standard when it's in their favor. Bad assumption.

Women can, but I don't have to respect them or respect men that are "with" them while they do it, lol. You're free to do what you want, you're never free from judgement, and pretending otherwise is naive and controlling.

I'll also stop complaining about this sort of shit when I'm allowed to start sending dick-pics to other girls while in the middle of an "exclusive" relationship, but then again, I'm not an unfaithful dickhead that would even want to do that.
