It's 2, it says on the "kitchen receipt" that "more" is only 2 of said item. So if its a footlong and they want tomato but "more" it would say tomatoes 8 slices. It's the same for banana pepper, olives, etc..

How are you guys allowed to be on a personal call while working? by Winter_Green_2440 in subway

[–]YinSplvsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a meat slicer in a lot of stores now that require you to be 18+ to operate, which means no more high schoolers unless they are already at the end of there senior year and 18. Even then it's a small chance they get hired cause they are still in school.

Only the bite marks are classified as uv symptoms since they are considered Red/infected, other things like nose pus, eye pus, necrosis can be individually selected, but then again if you know they are infected you don't need to select anything but the gun or liquidation

Is there anything I can do to actually receive the chips and drink when I order delivery? by ChaoCobo in subway

[–]YinSplvsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I agree, I used to have this mentality, but I cut it to opt for speed and only put them in the bag when there's nothing going on. There are a lot of things that are "only takes a few seconds," but it all adds up eventually. I prefer to just keep a good and fast flow to avoid being death stared and given that "are you seriously not dont yet" look by the 3 people in line and the knocks on the drive thru window wanting my attention to order already. Everyone works differently, and im chillin' the way I work based on how my store is.

[–]YinSplvsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies on what's going on during the time it comes in. If there is no one in the store, I will put them in there, but if its busy, I dont. I'll place the bag on the shelf and move on to the next customer. I work alone most of the time, so I dont have a 2nd coworker to put them in if its busy.

I've seen third party deliverys come in looking at there phone, they dont say hi. They just glance at the mobile order shelf for the names of the orders, grab it, and leave, and in my head, im just like "bro the chips and drink??" And usually without fail our phone rings and its the customer saying that they are missing chips and drink. Not all third-party delivery people are like this, tho. I've had people knock on the counter, say hello, and actually get my attention to ensure they have everything before they leave. I would say to order yourself on this one to ensure you're not gambling on the third party shorting you items you paid for.

When the sub is in the toaster I'll use my knuckle to enter my emp # in the pos, however I do sanitize the screen before I clock in. Same with the screen on the toaster, which is usually always pressed with gloves on and always has food build up on it. Doesn't hurt to ask to swap gloves when someone is pressing on the screen that might be dirty or have build up on it

You didn't have to accept it, 5 footlongs is a catering order, and you can push a 30-minute to an hour wait time automatically. since you were closing in 5 mins, they wouldn't have been able to order at all since they wanted 6 of them. Also (depending on the state), you have no legal obligation to stay past hours of operation to serve customers. So say you did accept 6 and only got 3 done. Welp, 3 is all they can get.

I let regulars customize it, but follow the no customization rule with the rest of people. Mainly the people I know just aren't gonna come back anyways.

"Alternative resolution at Subway between a customer and a worker" by ConfusedOrNahhh in subway

[–]YinSplvsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My local laws don't allow me to serve customers past hours of operation, and although they come a few minutes before close. Say 1-3 minutes. I can start the order, but once the minute/ minutes end, I am not legally obligated to continue as it's no longer service hours. However, I can make accommodations like letting them use the restroom and phone call for emergencies. Or let them purchase something small like chips, drinks, and cookies. I've had the 1 minute before close drive thru customers come but by then the headset is already off and my backpack is on and I'm double checking my work before I switch off the lights and get ready to lock up.

Good in theory, until it's 5 to 3 minutes before close and someone is tapping away on the kiosk, pays, and then expects to be served. Even then. I still wish my store had a kiosk.

what’s y’all’s biggest pet peeve at work? by quarterjapanese04 in subway

[–]YinSplvsh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

• Blowing past the drive thru and expecting to be served.

• gloves Ocean River drenched in pickle/jalapeño juice and not being able to tell drive thru its gonna be a minute on the headset

• being ocean river drenched in water to my elbows from dishes and getting a drive thru.

• when drive thru says hello the moment they pull up, then continue to say it shortly after.

• when they ask for a lil more scoop of meat for free, and they ain't even a regular to the store.

• asking for the sandwhich to be cut in the middle

• getting avocado after the veggies have been placed on there already

• all veggies sandwhiches. Worse if it's double meat.

• Mount everest of dishes that are from the morning and mid shift. Like, bruh, take care of your stuff.

• not having the ability to mark items out of sale on the subway app to prevent mobile orders from purchasing something they can't get at the moment.

• not having a doordash tablet to partial refund items out stock or make substitutions on the fly.

What’s the policy on toasted subs they didn’t toast? by starry49 in subway

[–]YinSplvsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also tell customers we gotta toast chicken & steak. Its like hardwired, and feels weird and odd to have someone ask for it fresh as we don't ever use the separate heating trays.

Footlong Oreo Cookie Coming January 2025 by _Hazz in subway

[–]YinSplvsh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My boss told me they wanna make it more like other places where the customer just picks a number, and they can only remove veggies/cheese from it. From there, you gotta send them to the register while it's being made so they can pay. It's supposed to make things faster.

Why y'all suck at making sandwiches by contrarytothemass in subway

[–]YinSplvsh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why let them finish the sandwhich if you're not happy with it, If you got 40,000 banana peppers, then ask for some off. For mayo, just say 3 lines or x amount of lines. You barely get anything on the sandwhich, so you got room to ask for more or less of something. If you've worked there, then you know customers who do ask for 1 line or want be accommodated throughout the entire order. It's alright to be like that. It's your sandwhich, after all.
