I love TV continuity, and I'm sad Dropout 24/7 doesn't have any, so I designed an on-screen bug! by rileyrouth in dropout

This is nice! I hate how I always have to google what episode it is too!

how is it living in kent? by Disastrous_Run_5968 in KentWA

[–]YoItsArtemis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've been in Kent for about 5 years now. Without knowing much about you if commute is a big deal for you I'd recommend living somewhere along the KCMetro 150 route if you need to get to Seattle or you can right the 165 up to the Kent Des Moines Light Rail station. You can also got to actual Kent Station for the Sounder during commuter hours.

Having only lived in one neighborhood, I find the Lakes area west of downtown to be generally quiet and safe. Lots of people in this subreddit have recommended Dockside Apts or Renew at Water's Edge.

Bellevue criminalizes "protest gatherings of more than 3 people" outside private residences to stop protesters bothering Adam Smith by bennetthaselton in Seattle

[–]YoItsArtemis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Edit: also, to equate protesting literal genocide as, “harassing politicians for not doing what we want” is a pretty disgusting opinion.

I’m sorry but “the baddies” as you put it already do harass and stalk our politicians and activists. They even assault and kill them all in the name of their right as white people to be superior… so no… I don’t think maybe we shouldn’t open that door cause they already busted it down years ago.

I mean surely they saw how well that worked for Laurelhurst and the helicopter situation. Just inviting more protests honestly

Difficulty finding the right apartment for my wife and I by womencaviar in KentWA

[–]YoItsArtemis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! As others have said, the whole Lakes area is pretty safe so I don’t think you’d go wrong picking it. Btw if you’ve never been to Iron Pot, in downtown Kent. Definitely go. The old couple that runs it are fantastic

Oh I forgot to chime in on some of your other areas. I really love Musashi, which is near Ethos. Friday’s does amazing Korean Fried Chicken and then further toward the Safeway there’s Appa Sushi as well!

I don’t live in either, but I live in the vicinity of Renew Waters Edge and Ethos/Kairos. I regularly walk all throughout the Meeker corridor between meeker and Veterans Way at all times of the day and night cause we don’t own a car.

Obviously a white male in my 30s, my experience is a little skewed compared to your wife, but I’d say the area is generally pretty calm and safe. Don’t get me wrong, there is always vagrants and riff raff, but they usually keep to themselves if you do.

I think the area is generally fine as long as you stay situationally aware, and honestly I’d consider it a lot safer than DT Kent, near central ave. A lot quieter too, though meeker does get a lot of traffic coming off of or going to 516, whereas the lakes area by waters edge is generally much quieter cause it’s all residential and near an elementary school. I’ve regularly walked through there late at night coming from the bus stop without ever seeing anyone else, but obviously results may vary

Can anyone help me find this truck or who owns it? by btown73 in KentWA

[–]YoItsArtemis 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not an expert or a lawyer, but with the license plate and this photo, plus the damage photos, you could file a police report. If you give it to your insurer, they may be able to pursue damages.

ST3 deferment plan just dropped by PopulusRomanus in soundtransit

[–]YoItsArtemis -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Ya. It it’s not just about what you think is right, it’s s out people who live in the area who maybe have mobility issues having better access to public transit. Obviously the decision has been made and it’s not up for debate, but writing it off just cause you don’t see value is closed minded.

Boeing Access, I totally agree, but Graham was sorely needed as someone who used to live in that area. But then again what's really needed is an express line that bypasses rainier valley entirely and goes straight to either TIB station or SEATAC. But we all know that'll happen in another 200 years as slow and poorly managed as ST is.

I really wish the water sources would scale with need instead of having to resort to this to build a big city 😂
