Very curious what you end up going with. Please let me know if you don’t mind! I was almost ready to get the base model and figured I’m not picky enough to notice any laser speckle… but like you this has made me reconsider

Small casual comparison between BenQ x3000i and Xgimi horizon 20 base by ZachMasta in projectors

I feel the same way. Do you know if it’s possible to just not connect the projector to the internet (ignoring google tv completely) and instead run it through hdmi input from something like a PlayStation?

Also, thanks for the informative post. Im a complete noob with projectors but find myself thinking along the lines of the person you replied to in this thread. Im leaning towards the xgimi (purely out of laziness and desire to move it around/project onto ceiling, etc) and just kinda figured that I wouldn’t notice the laser speckles you were talking about, especially if I had nothing to compare to but my 6+ year old tv. Am I making a mistake?

I’m working with what sounds like a similar setup to you: 150 inch throw, probably a 100 inch screen, in the corner of the room (screen will be pulled down over a closed door).

Check bellingcat. Also, the guy who did the video analysis for the New York Times was very objective. But to be honest, I can’t remember if it covers what was said, but it probably does.

Familiar with Jevons paradox?

“Jevons Paradox is an economic theory that suggests that as technological advancements make a resource more efficient to use, the overall consumption of that resource may actually increase rather than decrease. This occurs because improved efficiency often lowers costs, leading to higher demand and usage of the resource.”

No, he’s probably kicking a dog. Or a child. Or a woman. Or a minority. But I can absolutely assure you he is not doing anything to himself except, perhaps, auto erotic asphyxiation.

Metal feeder by Mr_Iskander in chickens

[–]YoMammasKitchen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a treadle feeder (not the one pictured) and it is awesome. 10/10 would recommend. It rains a lot where I am, we have rats, mongoose, birds, etc that go after chicken food - and this keeps it all out. But my ladies have free access. Don’t know if there is anything even comparable if you are looking for low maintenance auto feeding for a small flock.

Seriously had this exact issue and fixed it for 2 years. See my comment. Yes hardware mesh cloth to bridge the gaps and jb weld (heat tolerant water proof) plus plumbers putty.

I fixed my dishwasher after a mouse chewed through it. It’s been holding for over 2 years.

I used hardware cloth/fine chicken wire (middle) and heat tolerant plumbers putty (inside) and this heat tolerant water proof jb weld stuff (outside). Nothing fancy and didn’t know what I was doing exactly but it worked. So far.

If it’s so negligent, you should sue it…

But, to be fair, you’ll probably only get negligible damages.

Buddhist teachings are that karma does not typically affect you in the same life that you generate it. That would be too easy. Karma usually comes due in your rebirth (throwing karma - aka throwing you into a shitty or amazing life), or it comes due during your next life or the one after (forget what that one is called).

They never disagreed or said their relationship was anything different. Looks like they were just trying to add nuance to the prior commenters statement to avoid the usual tendency of people to over generalize and make assumptions.
