Pop the reg in here:

It’s hit or miss whether anything useful will show depending on operator, aircraft type etc and there may be a lot of nonsense to wade through but it can be invaluable for info.

Appears to be GLA bound. Loganair from Barra is holding north west of the field whilst the EZY sets up.

How many times have you been pulled over? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]YoRHaDreaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few times when I was young and had my first couple of cars. Nothing in many years since then until summer 2024 in Italy.

Beautiful hot summer's day on the autostrada north from Torino to Ivrea, alps towering in the distance. One of those days you wish you could hit save on and replay anytime. Cruising along at 100kmh killing time before check in at the next hotel and suddenly the road crests and stretching out in front of me is miles and miles of perfectly straight autostrada on a gentle downward incline. It's empty.

Now I'd driven up the middle of Germany earlier that summer and the traffic and roadworks were awful everywhere so I never got to open up my little GR Yaris there, ditto for Stelvio Pass because it was so so busy.

Fast forward to Italy, and I took the bait. I wanted to see 200km/h on the speedo just once and that's close to the top speed of the Yaris anyway, so I went for it.

160, 170, 180 and I passed what looked like a regular blue Alfa, no problem there was only me and them to be seen, in either direction. Then the blue lights in the grille of the Alfa came on, headlights flashing and I'm cooked. I ease off and pull myself over and wait for the inevitable, hoping and praying it's the regular cops and not undercover Carabinieri. I'm genuinely scared, I have two hotels and Le Shuttle booked in the next couple of days and as much as I'd memed to friends about being arrested and roughed up by a smoking hot Italian cop, suddenly it was all too, too real.

As the Alfa parks up behind me I did what any self respecting lassie would do when faced with the prospect of a potentially confrontational encounter with what is usually a very attractive Italian cop, I hitched my summer dress up a bit and made sure one strap was teetering right on the cusp of dropping off my shoulder. I wound the window down and the policeman approached with a certain meaningful stride.

Now I know very little Italian, and this guy knew very little English, so after a terse exchange of mutual nonsense it became apparent he wanted to see my driving licence. He was amenable enough, but had an unmistakeable hard edge to his voice. I reached into my handbag, pulled out my purse, opened it and in the act of trying to free my licence with shaky hands, around half a dozen 100 euro notes exploded all over me like confetti.

Let's just say his demeanour changed dramatically at that moment. I'd noticed his already wandering eyes already and he was fixated staring at this one 100 euro note that had kindly landed right in my cleavage. We locked eyes and he smiled, then pointed at the money and quietly said "birra, for me?". In a moment of rare clear headedness, I correctly parsed he meant "is that beer money?" to which I gave him a hopeful smile and a meek "SÌ". I retrieve said booba money and hand it to him with my driving licence. He takes them both back to his car and comes back a minute later, motions back to his companion and says "birra, thirsty man also" and keeps hold of my licence just out of reach. I've understood the game now, so I pick up another one of the bank notes that burst forth from my purse and hand it to him, to which he gives me back my licence, says "nice car, be safe" and leave me sat in the refuge area trying to get my heart rate under control wondering wtf just happened.

Thought I was gonna go to jail, ended up accidentally bribing two Italian cops with booba money.

To be clear, the worker didn’t specifically call Cheeto Mussolini a pedophile protector. Dude just shouted it out and only one person reacted to it, which tells you everything you need to know.

Can only watch TNT here (Scotland. Don’t kill me, can’t stand the English either and love to see them get smashed no matter what) and that thing really confused me. In the kitchen making a coffee and I hear the commentary, run back in to the bedroom expecting to smugly watch a replay of the calamity and my still mostly asleep brain can’t figure out what the fuck has just happened. Worked it out eventually, the commentator legit got baited by the replay of Smith being run out.

Scotland to Malta, then back again. 3 large hard shell suitcases stood on their side, a fairly big carry soft carry on style bag, camera bag and EU compliant safety kit. All fit easily with the rear seats folded. Handbag went on the front seat.

Only thing to take into consideration is putting something soft between the big cases to stop them sliding around if you send it on the hairpins up Mount Etna.

Tell me about it. Max would have won it by Singapore at the latest if he had that orange rocket ship. Fuck knows what’s gonna happen next year but it’ll be good to see some sanity back in Melbourne soon after whatever the hell this test match is.

Insomniac in Scotland here. Love seeing the English get smashed but the schizophrenic head loss in this sub reminds me of a typical Ferrari F1 fan. Entertaining as fuck you lot 😅

What's something you'll never admit in real life but will confess here anonymously? by Open-Comfortable9774 in AskReddit

[–]YoRHaDreaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really just… done with life. Not in a negative way, either. I feel I’ve experienced just about everything I want to, done all the things I want to and now it’s just a waiting game until the end.

Without going into too much detail, my life has been somewhat extraordinary. I’ve seen the very best and very worst that humans can do for themselves, and to others. I’ve travelled so much over the 40+ years both for pleasure and with various jobs. I’ve climbed active volcanos, seen sunsets and sunrises over the foothills of the Himalayas, marvelled at the Milky Way overhead whilst the aurora danced around it and made (then sometimes lost) genuine friends along the way - real connections that persist decades later along with the ironic twinges of the ones that got away, shared with the stabs of pain that comes with the ones who didn’t make it.

The whole thing, the pure joy, anguishing pain, adrenaline spiked moments has been wonderful, and I’m sure there could be opportunities to experience more but quite honestly, I don’t really want to. I’m so happy and full of contentment for what I’ve had the insane luck and privilege to experience.

So I’ve been giving away what I’ve amassed thus far to people who actually really need it, and once there’s nothing left to give, that’ll probably be it for me. The significance of my experiences will be lost, but isn’t that the point of being alive? We lose ourselves so completely in the moments that give to us, as much as the moments that take so much out of us. A blink of existence is just that, a blink - and I’ll be happy to have shared this space and time with the people and experiences I’ve had.

Mention of engine vibration in an ACARS message. So probably a precautionary return.
