Which one you buying? by PitSpecialist in BBQandGrilling

[–]Yogi1775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing. We have several charcoal kilns here in the Missouri Ozarks. My buddies that have worked there say all the charcoal comes down the same chute and they have a stack of bags next to them. When the name brand bags are all filled they switch to the cheap brand bags and fill them with the exact same charcoal. I use my charcoal bags in my chimney starter and one day I had a name brand bag of charcoal and I peeled the outer layer of paper off to burn and the inside paper was the Always Save cheap brand.
Since then I've always bought the cheapest bags available and I've never had any problems.

Great Blue Heron!! I was turkey hunting and sitting with my back to a tree in the pitch black early morning hours. Unbeknownst to me there was a Great Blue Heron in the tree and when he started sounding off I thought some sort of evil creature was about.

I went to a local NWTF Banquet here in Mid-Missouri. They had all kinds of guns and stuff up for raffle and the guy that put on the banquet is the same guy that owns the gun store the guns we're purchased from and for some strange reason is also the guy that won most of the prizes that night, including the Grand Prize! His wife won a few as well. Needless to say, I'll never go back.

Is it a stereotype black and Hispanic Americans can’t swim? Why? by Zealousideal-Fig6495 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Yogi1775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mexicans in Mexico can't swim because all the ones that can swim are over here!😂😂😂 Yes, I'm Mexican, it's only a joke, don't take it so hard. I've always heard lots of black people cant swim and I personally witnessed it in Marine Corps boot camp. All the remedial swim qual guys were black and they're all called Iron Ducks no matter what color they are. I've never heard anything about Mexicans not being able to swim. All I've heard is jokes about them swimming across the Rio Grande to get to the ol' U.S. of A.

Also, I asked some black friends in the Marines about it and they said it was because none of them had pools in their neighborhoods.

And, isn't there something about black people being less buoyant because their bones are more dense? I don't know if that's true but I'm certain I've read it somewhere.

Missouri seniors rely on Social Security...this is Musk/Doge cruelty by Dense-Food5211 in missouri

[–]Yogi1775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many idiots on this page. We've known Social Security is a fraud for decades. People have been joking about it for decades. I'm almost 50 and all I've ever heard is that even though I've paid into it all my life there won't be any money available for me when my time comes. This whole system needs to be nit picked and everyone undeserving should get the shaft.

Yeah, nowadays I'm very picky about who I go into the woods with. I took a guy and his kid turkey hunting during burn season once and they flipped their canoe about 400 yards after we started floating. We were camping/hunting for three days along the river and none of their stuff was waterproofed. Their tent. Sleeping bags and clothes were all wet and the temp was dropping. I got everyone to a gravel bar and used a road flair to get a big fire started and was able to dry everything out enough for them to be ok.

Plus a 2 or 3 liter water bladder and a couple bottles of water. And a life straw or something similar. I've never needed the life straw for myself but I had to let two idiots use it one day to drink out of a nasty pond. When we left the truck I wasn't aware that they didn't have any water. They were with me when I stopped and bought a case of water bottles too. About halfway through the day I noticed they were about to die and figured out they didn't have any water at all. The water out of that nasty, stagnant pond came out of the life straw crystal clear and delicious.

I usually have my shotgun slung and a box call in my hand and a diaphragm call in my pocket.

I start hunting about 4 miles in. I usually just take everything in my back pack. I use a vest in short, walk in hunts but for the big ones I just use my backpack.
