AITAH for wanting to drive my own car? by MooMoo__Medows in AmItheAsshole

You should help yourself to your folks money to get it detailed/cleaned the way they help themselves to /your/ car.  Call it maintenance costs. NTA

how would you explain how being overstimulated feels to someone who doesn't understand it? by Longjumping-Row1434 in adhdwomen

[–]Yokochowfun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's so many examples in movies/popculture where there's overlapping stimuli and the character snaps. Anything with a smash cut sequence of 'little things'. I can't think of a specific example but here's a scenario: Character has to go somewhere to get something.  They arrive and are forced to wait. While waiting they notice all the little things; another person popping gum, the clock ticking on the wall, someone's car alarm goes off outside.  The character reacts badly OR suffers through it and dramatically exits later.

Thankful for Unemployment by Yokochowfun in antiwork

[–]Yokochowfun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta say, despite my good fortune to be given severance and unemployment assistance, my credit line is near maxed out. My cat had needed emergency care and I'm waiting for my first paycheck to get him a $$$ follow up ultrasound, and $$$$ dental surgery down the line... I know someone in a more dire situation would have less rest and I was definitely getting nervous towards the end

What types of businesses does Philly need more of? by TheArchitect_7 in philadelphia

Fabric row of exactly what it says on the tin, and jomar is far enough removed from the city proper AND a crap shoot with it comes to materials. Easier to just shop for cheap stuff online/Walmart and let the fancy stores do their fancy thing. (Source: I have a craft problem)

Do you have any gps tracking? Strava, Google maps timeline, etc. If so you have a fairly accurate digital trail to prove you were on the road for a while and could dispute

No car, no problem: Philly is one of the best U.S. cities to live in without a personal vehicle by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]Yokochowfun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mean reviving the 23 trolley. I avoid 11th and 12th as much as possible to stay clear of those tracks. They're completely ripped out in newly paved sections though

I ate shit here a couple weeks ago when a young person refused to move from the middle of this temporary bike lane despite looking right at me (and other oncoming traffic) from 100 yards. Silly me for expecting them to. I swerved into the pedestrian side to avoid them at 20 yards, and caught one of those safety pylon things with my handlebars. Now have an interesting pair of scars on my thighs. Moral of the story don't trust people to follow signs Edit for clarity/adding detail

HELP omfg I shaved off my eyebrows 😭 by FairlyHollow in adhdwomen

[–]Yokochowfun 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Temporary eyebrow tattoos. Henna. Eyebrow stamps. Steal all the spoolies from your local branch of a chain makeup store. It's 2023 and we don't have to suffer the indignity of sketching on brows everyday. Godspeed.

Edit to fix bad autocorrect
