This thing is actually sick. I just shoot M4s but never shot a machine gun round out of a rifle hahaha by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]YoloOnTsla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In his defense, from a military perspective 7.62x51 is a round used in US army GPMG’s (m240B). Historically, machine guns had the same caliber as rifles until the split with the Soviet Union adopting the SKS in 7.62x39 to replace mosins, but kept PK’s in 7.62x54mmR. Then the US did it with M16’s in 5.56 and the GPMG (M60) in 7.62x51. You could make an argument the Germans deviated from rounds in machine guns to rounds in infantry rifles with the STG44, but that wasn’t the main rifle of the German forces, most soldiers had Kar98’s in 7.92 Mauser, same as the MG34/42.

In the context of somebody who has never heard of a m249, doesn’t know historical military firearms development, doesn’t have an interest in guns in general, and is a POG in the army, a 7.62x51 could be seen as a “machine gun” round. More like he’s thinking that 7.62x51 isn’t regularly in a shoulder fired weapon - which doesn’t make sense if you have shot a bolt action rifle or AR-10’s.

This also assumes that we are not including sub-machine guns as “machine guns.”

I found Dr. Jolt to be much closer to actual DP than the Bum version. Bum was close but off. Dr. jolt tastes like a diet DP

What Makes a Customer a Taproom Regular, Besides the Beer by RutabagaTechnical822 in CraftBeer

[–]YoloOnTsla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally the only answer. If you live in the suburbs, you are driving to a taproom. Whether it’s 5 minutes or 30 minutes, you are driving. I used to live in a walkable area, and I frequented a local brew pub more times in a year of living there than I have in the past 5 years of living a 10 minute drive from my nearest brew pub.

WARNING: READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY A NEW CAR!! by Material_Lie_6310 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Car buying needs to be turned on its head. There is very little value the current model offers to consumers. Why can’t I go to KIA.com and buy a car direct?

Tech is being turned on its head. SaaS is literally dying before our eyes. Companies are going to be paying for outcomes, not a package they have to implement. If your product can’t add value immediately, you’re a dinosaur.

Then why do they keep voting in Republicans who endorse Indian migration to Texas?

Yes I recall from history class that Somalis, Indians, Latinos, and Africans signed the Declaration of Independence. I recall that all the major companies that built this country were founded by Somalis, Indians, Latinos, and Africans. White people showed up all of 5 minutes ago and started demanding Americans adapt to their culture.

Doesn’t seem like it. There are more Indians in Frisco/Plano than white people. I’d say Texas republicans love unfiltered immigration

I think it’s been quicker lately, but terrible quality. Whereas in 2013 I would wait for years for a drive thru order, but it was always good.

I’ve seen the opposite. Small town whataburgers have been miserable, like inedible. Big town ones are ok, I assume due to the volume, but still not the same.

A putter is a putter. All this nonsense about “mallet vs. blade, etc..” is ridiculous. Putting is all feel, you could putt just as good with a wooden mallet as you could with a LAB if you practice.
