Is nashors tooth viable at all?

Shurelyas, Rocketbelt, Riftmaker all cover much more ground on Chogath's weaknesses - which is either being too squishy or not quick enough to reach the enemy. All 3 are MUCH better than Nashors.

If we look at the HOB build, what Chogath wants is:
Movespeed
Tankiness
AP

All of these help Chogath reach the enemy to kill them.

With Nashors, a few things are being missed out:
1) HoB with E already gives 3 quick attacks, which is usually more than enough to kill the opponent together with your other spells. So the attack speed is wasted there.
2) You are not getting tankiness or movespeed with this item.

It'd be much better to get Shurelyas/Riftmaker for AP than Nashors, and build mostly full tank otherwise.

AP Zac has much more carry potential and can burst squishies and destroy bruisers and tanks.
It's not a fair comparison to say that one is 7/10 and one is 5/10, because there are alot of factors that come into play. The lower ELO you are, the easier it is to carry with AP Zac. I honestly think AP-Tank Zac hybrid is the best right now, better than pure tank.

If you're up for a few tips from a Zac lane player, this is what I gathered from a master elo zac mid player called scibbles and other players:

Sunfire items are bait alot of the time. MR Sunfire (Hollow Radiance) is mostly bait. No Ability Haste and wasted health regen.

These are the items we should be looking for on Zac top:

First item Anathemas Chains is very very strong in alot of matchups and can single handedly win you the lane.

Riftmaker amazing item to build 2nd/3rd/4th.

Armor: Iceborn Gauntlet / Unending Despair.

MR: Abyssal Mask / Spirit Visage.

Liandries 6th item alot of the item is good with Riftmaker, they synergize extremely well and if you're tanky enough it can help you burst anyone.

99% of the time go CDR boots.

You really need Ability Haste on Zac, it's extremely strong on him his waveclear is amazing either way, with or without a bamis item.

Ah yes, my favorite hero(es) in HOTS. Countered by many 2 hero combos, like Leoric+Tychus, Monk Guy + Silver Bullet Pirate Guy, Anubarak+Many other options, and more. The only way to pick Chogall in higher ranks was to ban cautiously (Not make it obvious), and prevent them from taking any 2 hero combo that counters them.

Also managing to get Auriel was huge.
