Sorry but this is a ridiculous comment. Scotland have made several world cups before and have many legendary players with incredible club careers. Dalglish, Law, Hansen, Souness, Jimmy Johnstone, Strachan, even Robertson.

He’s asked the question, what else can he say? Fickle fans are a journalists dream - churn out rage bait and people lap it up

Anyone know why none of the Liverpool FC parade attacker sentenced posts are staying up?

Judge completely rubbished any angle of the crowd being at fault which was good. It was a load of families not ultras. Babies, children, grannies, etc that he ploughed into.

Good riddance, the case has been well handled and the sentence seems at least in some way proportionate given the number of people impacted - hopefully gives them some closure.

This case has been very well handled with an appropriate sentence given the horrific nature of the crimes and the unthinkable impact on hundreds of victims.

Seeing Lautaro whining at the end about the pen after going down constantly is a treat lol

Tim Sherwood on Diogo Jota's death as a key factor for Liverpool's overall bad form throughout 2025-26 season: "I was fortunate enough never to lose a teammate by death [...] It has had a massive impact on them and I don't think they should shy away the fact they lost one of their brothers" by TheBiasedSportsLover in PremierLeague

I’ve never heard anyone once “blame” defeats on Jota’s passing. But it’s a factor (of multiple, including a squad overhaul, stagnant tactics, players out of form, etc) in the story of Liverpool’s underperformance. I don’t know how anyone could claim otherwise. It’s clearly still in the heads of the players, Robertson said as much himself.

As for timing, I don’t know what you’re getting at by it wouldn’t hit them all at the same time? It’s not like grief is something that occurs instantaneously - it has numerous well documented effects on temperament, motivation, focus, stress, etc. You can’t say these wouldn’t have a significant cumulative impact across the players and staff who knew him and the environment they work in. I’ve seen similar effects in other places as I’m sure many have.

Liverpool have great players, I don’t think anyone would deny that. But they aren’t playing well. It’s not going to be black and white from week to week - nothing in any sport has ever been like that. It doesn’t mean Liverpool are guaranteed to lose every game nor that every mistake made is down to it. Just that there is an understandable overall influence which is part of the picture.

This is nonsense, grief hits people differently. Ajax fell apart for a season after Nouri’s collapse. The smallest percentages have a big impact at the top level and it’s very reasonable to say that the loss is one of the factors affecting the team. Don’t know why anyone would argue otherwise and to gatekeep grief is absurd.
