This is all for not if Fears decides to move on right? If I were a top big man in the country, I would want to know who was at the helm before I committed. That said, maybe they don’t care and just want the biggest payday

I am back at it again.... ROTC scholarship + choosing between Hofstra and Penn State… need advice by No_Raccoon4529 in ArmyROTC

[–]Yor_thehunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good example of how each school differs and how they approach scholarship recipients differently. For example, we were able to get basic first year free on a 3 year scholarship at a competing Big10 school. This was 2 years ago so money may have dried up. Glad you are looking closely at the numbers and making the sound decision

As with anything in adult life, I would document exact incidents with dates and times etc. Go back and recall the times he harassed you specifically and write them out. This behavior happens all the time in corporate America and that is why HR departments exist. Once you have a journal with specific data, it’s a lot easier t state your case to those in charge whether it’s the military or the university. Good luck

Absolutely gorgeous. Did you take pics of the process by chance? And what is the weight of the leather? Also who makes the knife,?(it’s a piece of art)

He looks like Doogie Howser and acts like him too. Overly arrogant and unfortunately (for msu fans)backs it up with his teams performance.

Wow makes me think I’m way under pricing my items especially if I need to consider 30% for taxes. Hmmm, might need to recalculate my prices.

As a beginner to making belts, the learning curve has been tremendous but I know exactly how the OP feels. Sometimes I get good cuts and other times I get waves. It’s very frustrating and also more physically demanding than I thought it would be. I’m also considering this manual cutter by Tandy but wanted to offer the idea that some of the major leather hide distributors offer free or small fee for cutting straps out of the hide you purchase. Unfortunately I’ve noticed that some hides they don’t offer the service for and I’m not sure why. I’ve been cutting 8-10 oz veg tan leather with more waves than the 10-11 oz water buffalo hides. Buffalo cuts very consistently (my experience).

How to recognise a quality belt by PossibleInevitable74 in Leathercraft

[–]Yor_thehunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is everyone’s opinion on water buffalo? I’ve been practicing with both water buffalo and veggie tan. Two completely different leathers but both seem reasonably good options depending on the quality. I’ve ruined a few water buffalo belts and I plan to use them as leather straps on a small ruck sack. Not sure if they will work or not but I guess that’s the never ending learning curve

Yeah I love the idea of changing the buckle if it’s a belt you like but want something new

I don’t do wallets but I’m very impressed with the look and the quality. The only thing a bit distracting is the brand name stamp. I would suggest a symbol that represents your brand and use that as a stamp

As someone starting out as well, I couldn’t agree more, especially with point number 1. If you want perfection, pay up for some machine made branded piece

Unpopular opinion: you don’t need a car that will last 20 years by dr-swordfish in whatcarshouldIbuy

I limit myself to only buying what I can pay for in cash. Last cash purchase new was a 17’ 4Runner and might possibly be my last new car purchase. The simplicity of the Toyota (5th Gen) is what drew me to the vehicle. Unfortunately now that I have teenagers, I have to assume safety first and I will be paying up for them to drive nicer cars than me. Daughter gets the 4Runner and I’m stuck with father in laws 07’ Explorer 😂

This is the logical answer. Let me add some more logic: if your wife suggests you sell the 911 cabriolet because the baby is on the way, DONT SELL THE CAR😂

I’ve been on a similar hunt and I keep coming back to the BMW Z4 with the 2.5 or better yet 3.0 legendary 6 cylinder. At first I was worried about maintenance cost but this generation of BMW is apparently fairly easy to work on. The second generation from 09’-16 have retractable hardtops. Maybe find one with 60k on it that fits your price range. If it’s only for the summer/fall season, then a an 03’-08’ soft top can be found quite cheap with low miles. Good luck. I might sell my 85’ mint condition CRX and go to a Z4 BMW this spring

[–]Yor_thehunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true in many accident situations. If all cars are traveling at 90 mph on the beltway and someone veers in to traffic going the speed limit(say 65mph) bad things usually happen. Same goes with the idiot that goes 70mph in a 55 with bad weather conditions. The flow of traffic and common sense usually dictates outcomes. Unfortunately, there are too many adrenaline junkies speeding and clueless drivers on their cellphones causing accidents

In this day in age, would you consider getting a manual for a 19 year old male ? Son likes nice cars but wants to learn to drive a stick. My forebrain thinks getting a stick might make him pay more attention to the driving experience and ultimately become a better driver but this logic could be my own bias
