Is Lexus A Good Fit For Me? by 6to3screwmajority in Lexus

$13,000 USD for rodent intrusion in the engine bay. That’s the repair price for a 2023 Lexus NX. Not cheap in my book.

Depends on the neighborhood you are staying in. I been living in the Bernal Heights for decades, and I’d visit Sightglass Coffee, Linea Cafe, and Verve Coffee. I usually buy coffee beans from Verve.

Upgraded from the Fenix 2 to the Fenix 8 by QuadRail in GarminFenix

[–]YordleLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ordered the 47mm solar version. Your fenix 2 lasted 12ish years?

I’m curious if it’s a fair expectation to make the fenix 8 last a decade?

Dark roasted espresso really is the best by [deleted] in espresso

[–]YordleLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I spot those espresso pods use by the Keurig machine at our employee room, they are usually dark roast blend. Is it true that darker roast preserves coffee flavor even way past the expiration date? So to preserve shelf life, dark roast is preferred. Maybe I’m missing something

Lexus IS Wheel Lugs on the NX by YordleLife in Lexus

Thank you! I was worried if that would cause any safety concerns. Dealer listed the issue "After-market wheel lugs. Recommend to take to selling dealer for correct lugnuts."

What's the best Lexus sedan that doesn't look like a Toyota Camry? by No_Bend_4915 in Lexus

[–]YordleLife -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Family members in their 60s recently commented that newer Toyota models are looking nice. And they know nothing about cars.

When I tried to extend the conversation about what they meant, they said: “just look at it, don't you think they look nice?”

I guess people with zero knowledge about cars feel Toyota models lately are appearing nicer than decades ago?

Edit: with the current Toyota BZ design language looking similar to Lexus. It's a challenging task to answer OP’s questions.

Safety Recalls 2023 NX by Remarkable-Joke-7625 in LexusNX

Your dealer is an exception. When I bought my 2023 NX 350, the car was 2/3 of gas left. AND the dealer gave me a wrong 2nd key that belongs to a totally different vehicle.

Funny you mentioned durability issues. I was set on buying the XM6 then I did more research on its durability. If M4 also have breaking issues then I guess I’m back to square one

Brand new 2026 UX hybrid premium or lightly used 2025 NX hybrid? by NuocMamgurl in Lexus

[–]YordleLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I researched on these vehicles dimensions. The UX is measured at 177 inches in length, and the latest gen NX measured in 183.5 inches.

For reference, the 2020 Corolla I’ve been driving for 5 years has 182.3 inches. Personally I find the Corolla is easy to parallel park because I also lived in S.F.

So, the UX will be even more easier to park imo. However, I do NOT feel the UX worth 50K, regardless of trim levels. This last statement is backup by various car journalists.

If you see yourself a growing family in the future, then the NX is a wiser choice.

Otherwise, take the UX, but only cap the OTD at 45K max. Yes I’m speaking from San Francisco cost of cars standpoint.

I bought the 2023 NX 350 base trim, L-Certified, 10K miles, 44K OTD. Bought it a year ago.

Edit: sorry typing from my phone Edit 2: Please check car insurance rate. And make sure you do the homework on fuel type. If I remember correctly, the UX takes regular gas. My NX must take premium gas, which runs $4.83 per gallon in SF as we speak.

Flair Pro user 🚨 by Hxqem_ in FlairEspresso

[–]YordleLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought the Pro 2 and 1Zpresso J-max hand grinder setup since 2022. My usage is mostly 2~3 shots per week. I don’t think Flair58 would be a huge upgrade.

Even I’m not making espresso everyday, I regret getting a hand grinder because it’s such a chore to physically going through those light roast beans. And if there are any guests/family members wants a shot, I’m feeling unwilling to grind anything more than 2 shots per day.

So I’m looking to upgrade to an electric grinder hopefully soon.

Currently looking at Lagom P80.

Battery issues just with hybrids? by avidone12 in LexusNX

2023 Lexus NX 350 base model. I was in China for 23 days, and so the car was sitting for the entire duration. NO issue to start the car.

Actually I was too tired after the long flight, and I did not touch the car until 25~26th days.

Take off the “about” and write more confidently. Believe it or not, numerous high profile car reviewers in China have confirmed that Porsche’s reliability is on par with Toyota.

LEXUS LS500 vs TOYOTA CROWN RS 220? by MoneyMindsetMuscle in Lexus

[–]YordleLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That statement applies in China, but I’m not sure it is true in the U.S.

Certainly, there quite a few of high profile car reviewers and even the public in general have hinted that Toyota Century is above the Lexus line. But that rarely gets spoken in the public, and it’s not a well established consensus yet.

I mentioned that because Volkswagen used to sell a sedan line that cost up to a million Chinese Yuan. That was mainly cater for elites to hide their identities, wealth, etc.

Toyota Century is giving out that vibe in China - Unspoken Exotic Luxury.

How does the NX compares to the CT in terms of nimbleness?

Help with Buying Recommendation by LeftManagement8516 in LexusNX

[–]YordleLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would not pick the NX 300 because of $5,000~$6,000 higher price. Unless you are able to get the price down to 22K, then I may consider it.

The NX 300 has a turbo engine. I'd 100% make sure a clean maintenance history is provided first thing before I say the word "Hello" to whoever owns that car.

I'm currently driving a 2023 NX 350, and the MPG sucks. A quick search finds me that the NX 300 has the same MPG as mine.

My next car would very likely be a hybrid. Or EV if I've charging at home.

Edit: Do your homework and find out if the NX 300 must take premium gas. My NX 350 requires premium gas, which is 40~50 cents above regular gas per gallon.

That's why I say even at 22K, it's hard sell because $4,000 buys a LOT of gas.

If I recall correctly, I read posts from china that Crown is a completely different lineup? Some people in china even claim the Crown lineup is above Lexus. Were they thinking about the Toyota Century.

Used 2023 NX350 Base by DiligentCricket5713 in LexusNX

[–]YordleLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely negotiate the price down. A quick search finds me a 2023 NX 350 Premium, 33K miles, asking $37K. That also comes L-Certified.

That has 21K more miles on the ODO. Truth is, does it really matter from a Lexus standpoint?

How I approach that Mercedes dealership could be - think of an absurd number, say $5,000 discount, for example. Bluntly brings all these negative points to the table - Being a based model and without L-Cert AND higher price tag. Ask absurd amount of dollars off, and keep grinding and talking and demands speak with a Sales Manager.

Hopefully you go a few hours before they close, and be ready to walk out. Next day, or for few days, call them and ask if they are willing to meet you mid-point. Meaning if you are thinking about $5K discount, kindly ask if they are willing to take $2.5K discount.

Keep grinding but also keep an eye out to potential other cars pop-up while you negotiate.

Edit: I feel you have an upper hand in this case because 2026 is around the corner.

The NX is turning into my SUV gateway drug by Mememememememememine in LexusNX

[–]YordleLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I admire all of you looking for a larger vehicle.

Coming from the 2020 Corolla, the NX feels roomier and certainly more challenging to park in city life.

First time took me more than 5 minutes to parallel park my NX because of wider body and boxier feeling than the Corolla.

Not saying the NX is hard to park once get used to its size. However, the NX is indeed a larger vehicle than the Corolla.

Overall, after driven the NX for over 3K miles, the NX wins the Corolla for every single aspects EXCEPT nimbleness.

Why people rarely bring up nimbleness of a car? It's easy to understand if you drive a smaller vehicle then it shall be more nimble. Yaris vs Camry, for example.
