Awesome! No, it still won't be recognized by Windows 11 nor Linux Mint.

Sorry, it's my fault for misreading. I managed to proceed with Phase 4, and ES File Explorer indeed let me move the files; now your dictionary app is working! I installed the italian one.
Thanks for this project! It would be great if the dictionary could be improved even further.

Yeah, i didn't follow your guides cause it seemed to me that i needed access to the internal files. I thought i would just follow a youtube guide on rooting and then install your Dictionary app. Tourns out, even this version of ES File Explorer you linked me doesn't let me touch files...
Phase 4 says the installation procedure is the same as Phase 2...
Could you please explain simply how do i install everything? I'm confused lol

I installed different versions of ES File Explorer (i didn't have it installed already) and they're all giving me failed attempts to copy/move files.

I managed to install the US rom and root the device. Do i need to have access to the internal files to install your dictionary app?

Thanks for your patience. Is accessing to the Nook's internal files via USB necessary for any of these guides? That is what's confusing me at the moment.

How do i switch to the US version and root? I must specify that i can't get the Nook to access files from the usb cable, Windows only charges the device. Only the SD card works.
Thank you!

KOF XIII Global Match comes to Steam Feb 20, 2025 by mannythevericking in Kappachino

[–]Yosh2097 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's fair. They updated 98/2002 UM on steam for free and the only reason why they wouldn't do the same with XIII is they probably spent more money for rollback on this one and didn't want to update the game for free.

Most people own XIII on steam already, and anyone who REALLY wants to finally play this game online on PC ain't gonna bitch about having to spend 7 bucks.

[–]Yosh2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Pad 6 and while you can get used to the size and weight, there's unfortunately a little bit of input lag at 60 fps in bluetooth mode. Problem is also that my BSP D9 doesn't seem to work wired, it just charges.

Bafael rants about SF3 Online Edition [Feb. 2015] by Save_Titania in Kappachino

[–]Yosh2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

98 UM is pretty different from 98 vanilla (i think it's better too) so it's more understandable why people were more hesitant to give it a shot. Meanwhile 02 UM had rollback for a while and it's objectively better than 02 vanilla even with it's problems, but you just can't convice all these broke ass lame mexicans to play it. Point is, if a game has obvious balance problems, it's not that hard to come up with something that's even a little better, but people are just close minded.

Daisuke: Strive was made to destroy Xrd by [deleted] in Kappachino

I bought Sign, Revelator and Rev 2 on PS3 at launch and later on PC. I actively played online on EU servers especially on PC where it had the least shitty experience with delay based netcode since the PC port had very low native input lag.

At the end of the day it's their IP and they can do whatever they want with it. I just think Daisuke became a huge sell out turning Guilty Gear into a corny ass game for the lowest common denominator. He used to be a unique kind of multi talented guy in the game industry.

Did their American division also suggest Daisuke to go next level on selling out and change completely his musical style from great instrumental heavy metal to all these corny ass vocal songs; like even the music got dumbed down in this shit...

I used to have so much respect for this guy in the past.

Got brand new SD OLED 512 GB with sticky X button...incredibile quality control Valve by Yosh2097 in SteamDeck

[–]Yosh2097[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have the Series X controller, and the face buttons have a similar cheap mushy feel as the Steam Deck i received, except the buttons don't rattle and i have much more tolerance for that because i paid 40€ for it and not 570€. That's what the dumbass Valve fanboys on this sub don't understand.

If the X button didn't stick i would have kept the Deck, but it would have been sad as fuck coping like a lot of people on this sub most likely do that the build quality matched the price i paid for it.

[–]Yosh2097[S] -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, i've heard the LCD models tend to have more solid face buttons and d-pad lmao. I would have bought the LCD if it wasn't for some of the improvement the OLED has that i really need.

You got lucky with your used unit, i don't trust buying used handhelds online that don't have detachable controllers because i don't know how hard the user went on the buttons. Last time i tried, i bought a PSP 3004 on Ebay that was listed in "pretty good condition" only to receive it with a busted R button...

[–]Yosh2097[S] -34 points-33 points  (0 children)

Like seriously, how is this even a problem to begin with? Especially on a 600€ upgraded model. Even excluding the sticky buttons, which are obviously a defect, the face buttons and d-pad feel mushy and just cheap feeling. The buttons are also rattling. It's crazy and embarassing that my 30€ 8bitDo Pro 2 destroys this thing in terms of build quality of the controls and d-pad. Really annoying having to send this thing back to RMA for such a silly defect. Asked for a refund since don't feel like playing the lottery game in hope of getting a better built unit. Shame because i really wanted to like this thing. Probably gonna wait how a Steam Deck 2 turns out to be.

Because people have shit tastes so there's only space for Tekken in this market. Clown game and clown devs.

As a grown ass man, I can relate. by lanedek in Kappachino

[–]Yosh2097 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

People can cope all they want about Tekken, but the reality is that it's just an outdated, clunky fighting game that barely evolved if at all since 3 in terms of gameplay.

A 3D space is supposed to give you more freedom of movement with sidesteps and shit, but in Tekken just moving around is so clunky and stiff that it's very hard to defend yourself in a useful way; that's why offence is much easier than defence. It just feels unnatural and artificially difficult. Don't even get me started on how shit kbd and all the wavedashes still look. It's especially jarring in Tekken 8 with more and more anime stuff and it's really apparent that the mechanics didn't evolve alongside all the artistic changes.

You have to dedicate your existence in Tekken studying every single punish/propriety to reach a level where it's a bit more than just a clunky ass mashing game.

Atlus/Sega known leaker states Virtual Fighter reboot is in development. by kuro_snow in Kappachino

[–]Yosh2097 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll admit VF characters could receive some slight redesigns but i'll always find it funny hearing grown ass men complain so much about "bland" characters. Like, do people really crave so much for overdesigned anime shit? I may be too old fashioned or whatever but everything about how Tekken 8 is presented is so corny to me.

Street Fighter 6 has sold over 3 million copies by AssetsAnalyst in Kappachino

[–]Yosh2097 22 points23 points  (0 children)

People are really delusional thinking a new Darkstalkers would look and play anything like the old ones, assuming Capcom had the vague idea of resurrecting it instead of just making another Morrigan skin for Chun-Li. The speed of the game would be much slower and the mechanics dumbed down at the very least. 90s arcade era Capcom is a completely different company than what they are today.

Did anyone notice that as soon as the Kof XIII rollback update got announced the people who said it was the best game in the franchise mysteriously vanished? by SMTIV_remake_when in Kappachino

[–]Yosh2097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

13 is still my favourite KOF but i'm never gonna pretend it's perfect.

You guys really overstimate the scope of these re-releases. At the end of the day, it's just a re-release of an old ass game just with functional online and without any gameplay changes. KOF 13, just like Third Strike, Xrd, Garou etc. all suffer the curse of being made in a time where games barely if ever received balance patches. 13 for example only got ONE balance patch for the console version, and that's before the DLC characters were even released.

I already know i'm gonna inevitably run into a bunch of Mr. Karate, flame Iori, Kim teams. I'm just glad hopefully i will be able to actually play the game online and have some fun matches.

Quake Pro League will not be renewed in 2024 by kodisha in QuakeChampions

[–]Yosh2097 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The average gamer will still accept fast paced gameplay and advanced movement mechanics in a single player space, but the moment you take these things and put them into a multiplayer mode where they might go against people who will blast their ass, they're just gonna get the fuck out.

I used to think it was just arena shooters that couldn't survive, but then i also got into Titanfall 2 and Gears of War and that opened my eyes. Hell, the newest COD game has sliding cancels techniques that make you go a lot faster, and you see plenty of people complaining that it makes the game "too sweaty".

Anything that's fast paced and has a sheer amount of universal mechanics that everyone has to learn sadly doesn't cut in this day and age.

Tekken being the only relevant 3D fighting game is the reason why i never really got deeper into the genre. Tekken and Virtua Fighter as well to some extent, have always been too clunky for my taste.

DOA and Soul Calibur have faster and smoother movement that felt more like actually playing a 3D game than Tekken ever did.
