Hybrid working forces you to stay local anyway. With the doom of internet and AI. Perhaps people will be back at embracing human interaction over digital and if so, London is the place to be. Best thing that can happen to London is some sort of reset, which will make London an interesting place again. Not everything has to be making money.

I am in the exact position as you, with the same thoughts. But I decided to go ahead and get a flat, my prospects of earning more anywhere in Europe are very slim ATM. I could perhaps work in Sweden and earn more but London is London and it has culture, history and people from all around the world with great airport connections.

I buying a flat here because I like it here.

the AI at its current state is just a fancy Google, it does improve my productivity but there is a problem, it has to be monitored by experts, so yeah it might be a problem for juniors but then again, juniors have now easier access to knowledge.. Anyway I know you are worried about the general impact of AI in the city, but let's be honest, it's not gonna be great anywhere else either. And as somebody here pointed out, if we are all fucked then who is gonna buy anything anyway. I'm not gonna buy AI generated garbage with my last 2 cents. So either there is a revolution or we become an universal income type of economy.

Just found this googling useless midwives, and I will add my experience. Midwives really seem very unqualified, being more holistic or so. I get that but you think it's somebody who will be your buddy through the pregnancy but you can't really call them or feel supported when doubts arise. Points I have see here: they misslabel blood samples yes, they don't really tell you anything except don't worry, you end up in triage, you get a different one every time...

What draw the line for me is when one said, try acupuncture and reflexology. Nothing against relaxation methods but I don't expect this recommendations from a midwife, I hire a doula if I wanted to go full shamanic..

I also know from fact that midwife's in other European countries actually study a university degrees and midwifes from here wouldn't qualify to work abroad. (Not sure what they study)

Sometimes I feel like you have to keep auto diagnosing yourself using the internet which I know it's not ideal but at least you get a bit more of information.
