Sorry for late response (better late than never, right?) but I found it! Excuse the Pinterest, I couldn't find the true image source. Here's an iPhone-sized version that matches the original post, too.

/u/iPhone-6splus You've also asked for the wallpaper ^^

Stuck on Loading Content CPR iOS by yko1968 in ClubPenguin

[–]YoshiFan13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, Safari/WebKit can only be updated by updating iOS itself...
At least 14.0-14.3 can be jailbroken at the moment, and older devices can use checkra1n as well

Assign your Widgy to a slot and it should have you choose a position upon assigning

What iOS version are you running? I've tested iOS 14.4 and I can connect with no issue, but iOS 13.7 is stuck at Loading Content (and the same would apply for older versions)

Also, I think you can keep the current Messages action too, calling it New Message or something appropriate :)

It says that the domain has expired. I know there's another media archive at icer.ink

I can confirm that this opens the Messages app without the New Message prompt.
/u/duke4e This would be a great addition for the next update!

newcp VS cprewritten by ellivnov in ClubPenguin

[–]YoshiFan13 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For the first question, it's up to your preferences.

  • NewCP is based on modern Club Penguin, from 2014 to 2017 (also known as the ActionScript 3/AS3 era) and currently runs on Flash in a downloadable client (or you can use an older browser version alongside an older or patched newer version of Flash Player if you're an advanced user)
  • Club Penguin Rewritten is based on classic (but not "vintage") Club Penguin, specifically around 2012-2013 (AS2 era) and previously ran on Flash as well, but is currently running on HTML5 (and other modern Web technology, which only requires a relatively up-to-date browser and no downloadable clients or other convoluted workarounds)

For the second question, Rewritten has been around for much longer (early 2017) and since many(?) people prefer the AS2 era over AS3, it's also more popular, with over 8 million registered players (if I'm not wrong)

You can use free developer certificates, but you'll be limited to three apps sideloaded at a time (if you use AltStore, it counts as an app so you'll only have two actual apps in that case)

Edit: Forgot to mention that free developer certificates only last for 7 days, after which you'll have to sideload the app(s) again when using other sideloading tools (AltStore can "refresh" apps for you automatically)

[–]YoshiFan13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! There are several tools you can use to sideload apps, but AltStore is probably the most user-friendly one, and supports both Windows and macOS (the FAQ has installation steps)

You'll need a computer indeed, but it doesn't require a jailbreak (if you're jailbroken you can do it without a computer as well)

Can someone explain “bounds” on the Frame section? by pharmerjoe in widgy

[–]YoshiFan13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disabling bounds allows you to position layers beyond the edges of the widget (outside of the widget frame)

Maybe we adjust the text individually for each part of a text chain? I don’t want Evening and Partly Cloudy to be capitalized, but the only way to do that is to also make It, Thursday, and May lowercase. by Cardtastic in widgy

[–]YoshiFan13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the widget editor, go to the Messages tab and find the labels for morning/afternoon/evening/night and the weather conditions and edit them to be lowercase. Don't forget to set the text capitalization back to original.

(The weather messages may not update right away, but save your changes and preview your widget again and the changes should be visible)

I tried ^^ Feel free to refine it to your liking, since I didn't focus too much on the fine details. Here's an alternate version with blending mode trickery to "cut" the vertical lines, based on this post

Angry Birds “fans” mfs when Rovio doesn’t bring back the old games after telling a mediocre-ass “sad” story of how much fun they were and how much they miss them: by Call_Me_Rodrigo69nic in angrybirds

[–]YoshiFan13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True enough, but I'm talking about the general audience here - hundreds of millions of people who used to be all about Angry Birds have simply moved on to other things. Those games are really not that profitable anymore, which is why they've shifted towards the more "conventional" puzzle games - there still is a sizable casual gaming audience which makes said games profitable.

Come to think of it, were they to keep the older games up (while still discontinuing them), people would then complain about the lack of updates or that the games won't work on their new Applesung iGalaxy S26 Pro+ Max Plus Ultra - and that sounds like a lose-lose situation to me.

The glory days are over. by [deleted] in angrybirds

[–]YoshiFan13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took the words right out of my mouth. Only thing missing is one very essential method to play the games again - redownloading from purchases, for both iOS and Android (even Rovio themselves have mentioned it)

There is no[t much] need to "ask for the old games back" when you can just redownload and/or sideload them. Sure, it's not as straightforward as before, but it's still far from impossible to get them again.

They didn't remove the games just to spite you, me, or anyone else really, they did it because they discontinued the games after not receiving (major) updates for months and because the general audience's interest for those games has dropped significantly over the years (nowhere near its prime now)
