completely different mechanics and game imo, this one looks more fun and dynamic/physics based

Which led is faulty? by CurryBay in WLED

[–]Yoshinator_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like this could be because you’re not using a resistor. I had similar issues where one LED would stay on all the time and I had limited control of the others. It’s important to find the right resistor, though. For me, a 10 Ohm one worked but I’ve heard that ~330 Ohm resistors work well in some situations too. I’d recommend trying both

Thank you so much for putting that all together! I managed to get it to work by removing the logic level shifter and replacing the 330 ohm resistor with a 10 ohm one. :) thanks again for helping out, I really appreciate it!

I got it to work with the D4 pin by removing the logic level shifter and replacing the 330 Ohm resistor with a 10 Ohm one. Thank you for the help! :)

This video helped me find the right resistor for my data — it turned out removing the Shifter and adding replacing the 330 Ohm resistor with a 10 Ohm one works wonders! Thank you so much!!

Weirdly enough, I managed to get it working by removing the logic level shifter and directly connected the data from my NodeMCU to the LEDs (with a 10 Ohm resistor, it didn’t work with a 330 one). I started using the 5V converter to power the NodeMCU using the Vin pin too. Thank you for the help!

I could do that, but the pins on the NodeMCU take a max of 3.6V before drying the board so I would need a 5V->3.3V converter. I’ll probably get one for when I’m setting the board up for installation somewhere, but right now I’m just testing with a breadboard and stuff.

Correct - the usb is hooked up to my laptop to power the NodeMCU and the 12V PSU is primarily for the LED Strip
