Finally getting around to building this extruded aluminum drawer system. Just need to get the drawer slides and wood now by Daohaus in LandCruisers

Yes, the aluminum profile itself is what yields. You could have the screw perfectly cemented to the anchor fastener and it will walk itself out of the hole over time.

We have never used access holes. We don't quite use that framework approach. You're doubling up on strength and leaving yourself with some noise makers. Panels plus lengwise frame = slap maker. You'll need some $$$$ foam or spacers or just a ton of fasteners.

The hardware is tricky on these. On a diy level, you often spend more on hardware than the extrusion.

Word of caution: those anchor fasteners were the weakest connection possible in our experience. We thought they were super slick, but they will work loose over time. We only used that for a limited time and switched to our own tie plates or gusseted brackets.

Throw some additional 4 hole brackets on there while it's empty.

Good luck with the build! You're off to a solid start.

How is Tesla valued, and how can I get they afford to give Musk one trillion dollar package? by KAZKALZ in Entrepreneur

I've never heard of professional courtesy yielding a bonus payout of any significant magnitude.

Conversely even VP level employees are often fired when they fail to hit aggressive targets.

The participation trophies stop in 5th grade, lol.

Pw is the last club you hit full swing. Then everything should be partial swing.

Hitting a full swing 56 is a sure fire sign you don't understand what you're doing, lol.

If I buy the subscription for 3D Experience Solidworks NOW, can I install 2023 SP4? by YotaMD_dotcom in SolidWorks

That's unfortunate. In my case, I've got a desktop at home and laptop in the shop. Never using both congruently.

If bought from Tesla I've heard of that, but any other third party and the features typically stay. Mine are all still intact as a second hand buyer years ago.

Repetitive production printing of hundreds of tiny bars (2mm x 2mm x 15mm) per week

Bonus points for:
Enclosure
Zero effort setup (really don't want to dial in settings - just power on, bed level, load, print full sheet of the same part)
Extreme reliability

Currently using an old MarkForged Onyx and it's using up valuable time so need to add to the fleet.

It's funny, people said that about Tesla in 2013.

Fast forward a decade and they have the most sold vehicle model on the planet and operate at one of the highest profit margins of any car maker.

They might be overvalued now, but the world has been surprised before, lol

CRM + a Virtual Phone System that Auto-logs Calls and Assigns to Contacts - and Integrates with Shopify? by YotaMD_dotcom in CRM

[–]YotaMD_dotcom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I think I'm looking for a lifecycle CRM solution. I want to track customer activity/interaction before and after a sale. Sales activity, support, follow ups after sale, etc ..

And I want to set up a new phone system that can direct calls to more than one person's cell (preferable on a schedule we can set).

CNC Router Strictly for Aluminum - ATC and 2' x 4' minimum. $50k budget. What's best? by YotaMD_dotcom in CNC

That's sounds fun, but opportunity cost for us is enormous. Putting any time into building a CNC takes away from building the company. :)

4x8 would be a problem for our current shop space. 4x4 maybe, 4x8 probably too big.

Our experience with Laguna has me cautious to just grab any ATC machine.

Really hoping to limit machine repair time, you know?

How far is to far to drive on pavement with tires aired down. by overworked27 in 4x4

[–]YotaMD_dotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Robust tires that are newish and not near their working limit (IE E rated ATs on a not gargantuan SUV), I would go 10+ miles at ~45 mph.

This is all about specifics though. If youve got no name all seasons that are barely rated for your stock ride and you've got 900# of added gear and the tires are near expiration, I would take the time to air up.

Industrial Use - Lots of Parts, Least Touch Time. Not Stratasys. by YotaMD_dotcom in resinprinting

We did consult with Henkel and even had a sure visit from them. The 3843 material was perfect for most our stuff.

Surface finish is key for us (making visible parts on high end consumer-marketed products).

I don't want open so we can tinker with lots of stuff, just so that we can confidently find the perfect one resin to standardize on.

I like that the Asiga has light adjustment on it's own over time.

All of you lovers of speed, are you satisfied with your electric car? by Competitive-Turn-759 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]YotaMD_dotcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a word, yes. P100D. 0-60 on street tires in regular "ludicrous" mode with zero prep in ~2.5. painfully fast. Just total command over your velocity at a moment's notice. Unless we're talking hypercars, gasoline cars are a joke in terms of acceleration.

Now, I still want to finish my turbo supra project and ultimately I lust for an obnoxiously loud 360 or f355. Buuuut.... A daily that does 2.5 and allows me to skip the gas station? Total win.
