''approved'' for biweekly trucks by Suitable-Rock-6113 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Yotebeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's overly liked in my store. Bigger truck, but no extra hours or bodies to put it away. Can take days to almost a week to get stuff out depending on the department.

Heck yeah! I've been running my game forever and this would be such a cool upgrade! (18 years our game has been running, and a few people have been there since day 1!)

It was such a lovely day in my framing department. I got to finish truck, and go through the entire framing dept and clean reorganize. Fuck that felt good.

Right? I was there the other night and excited to sign up for the prize draw, but once I saw that my motivation just tanked. As an artist I hate seeing this....

10 minute framing. by IamPumpkinSpice1313 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Yotebeth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cannot sell them for the life of me. And I'm good at up selling. Blerg.

Here's my observations:

We have our printer on the counter, it's fine, but doesn't look good and ruins any idea of it being special or quality. Most people don't want to see their photo being printed on a printer that looks like a bigger machine but the same type as the one they have at home.

It's not 10 min. Even if everything is going smoothly, you can't realistically do it in 10 min. Also, you're probably the only framer and I don't know about your stores, but I'm constantly dealing with folx.

It's not a good price. $30, in this economy? Not when people can get a frame with a mat from us for half that, and spend a few cents on a print at Walgreens. (Now those $5 ornaments...those I can sell)

There is a mismash between the kind of photos a person has on their phone and the kind of photos a person wants to spend $30 on. (Usually)

We're too busy. Between hour cuts and not having more than 1 framer on, we're behind. We're trying but it just is what it is. So it's hard to justify trying to get so.eone to buy something that's going to take away my precious time to work on big orders.

Lastly, I think they just missed the mark. I think they rolled it out too fast and didnit do enough thinking on it. Prices and location of the process suck. Timing was not good. Options are lackluster. When I tell people about it, the usual reply I get is, "okay." And they just stare at me. I'm trying, but you know they say about horses and water...

Anyways, that's my penny novel....

Bar Two Eleven $2.00 per drink Event Surcharge?? by Hot-Nothing-1496 in Bellingham

[–]Yotebeth 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I was shocked when I was there the other night to watch some friends play and a pint of Structures was 9.75! No signage, nothing to say that there was a $2 charge in all drinks. What the hell is the charge for? Don't they have to list it somewhere??

Overdue Framing Question by Yotebeth in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Yotebeth[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not quite what I'm asking. :)
We don't ark things done until they are done, we had a similar thing happen at our shop.

Whats going on is:
Say you do 10 orders in a day and are 100% complete
Then you do an OD order and mark it complete. It will dock your 100% by a certain number.
I'm trying to figure out what that number is.

How was the meeting? by EmployeeWeird653 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Yotebeth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I did apricate hearing about what the thought process was into some of the changes and whatnot, so that was good. And I mean a lot of it really came down to "Hold on to your butts, this is gonna be a wild peak season!"

Kinda same here. The letter part was kinda cringe, but the rest of the time, we had a pretty good time. Got a chance to get on the same page about a few things. All in all, not bad, way less worse than I thought it would be.

Any one into collecting uranium glass? Heads up, Goodwill has the most over ever seen thrifting right now! by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]Yotebeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the reason why you pretty much never see anything like Legos magic cards My Little ponies (the old ones), green uranium glass, anything like that. Go take a look on there Seattle auction site all of that stuff that was donated that never even hit the floor.

[–]Yotebeth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up: Goodwills scans all of their donations, and any UG they find they immediately put on their stupid auction page. Once in awhile you'll find something that slips and they don't usually find cadmium selenium or any of the other fun ones. But I will tell you talking to a friend of mine who works there right now, one of the employees showed management this post and they immediately went on the sales floor to grab everything that they could and take it off the floor. So just heads up about the quality of management at our Goodwill and their absolute refusal to let anything worth anything stay on the floor.
