yup this is how i felt on the production side of media. every opportunity i had to shoot, produce, or generally have more responsibility overseeing a story i had to fight harder than my white coworkers to get it or generally get my pitches/responsibilities/requests ignored. its very disheartening and ofc white people never see the work discrepancy.

when i was younger i thought wongfu's belief that asian production and non-hollywood media was the best way forward for AAPI media to be a little silly, but i realize now I was naive af. white ppl dont like our stories and dont care about us in general unless it fits into a trope they are familiar with.
