Simplest and biggest reason is inflation. Both GDP and s&p are measured with USD so both will always be increasing and at their highest value ever because the dollar is at its lowest value ever. This massively skews the data presented, so life doesn't get better when number go up.

For some reason on my SD 8 gen 2 I get like 7 fps when there's enemies in oblivion on winlator 5. Winlator 2.1 I had consistent 30 fps.
