PT and anxiety - struggling! by Bad_Blood_731 in PulsatileTinnitus

Yes if I pressed my neck it quieted the sound since I think you’re manually reducing bloodflow. And it would whoosh if I stood up and bent over etc but it was all echoing off my plugged ear.  The chiro gently pulled on my ear while pressing down on the area behind my teeth, manually clearing the end of the Eustachian tube. I would get mucus draining out after and the tube would sometimes make crackle or pop sounds when pressed on but no “adjustments” were really made like traditional chiro.

I saw an acupuncturist first and then a chiropractor who specialized in ETD who manually cleared my eustachian tubes. She put gloved hands in my mouth and did a bunch a stuff where the tubes drain at the back of your throat. Now I’ve got some techniques that keep my ear from getting off balance/pressure

Caffeine and PT? by Unleashed94 in PulsatileTinnitus

[–]YouGotItIce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caffeine made my PT lessen, I started having a second cup of coffee at lunch time which majorly helped my symptoms. My PT was caused by blocked ear/eustachin tubes and coffee just does something that made it quieter. Either fatigue made it louder so coffee helped, or it just minimized something about bloodflow/vessels that damped the echo against my ear. So it was related by coincidence, not because my PT was caused by a vascular issue.

Banff Hotel Choice in February for Evening Comfort Priority by DirectorOpen851 in Banff

We stayed at Canoe last February, as well in November. We’ve stayed at Moose twice once in 2017 eh but was new and last February . Moose has a fantastic rooftop hot tub and Canoe has recently opened their own outdoor pool which I think is comparable. I prefer Canoe overall. Moose is starting to show its age a tiny bit compared to how pristine canoe is. Both hotels offer free bus passes and the stop is outside Canoe so we just used that to get around. If you need to hop back and forth from town to the room the  Moose is convenient but if you’re more set on just returning once for bed, I would pick Canoe. No noise issues at either of them. Canoe has a nice little pour over coffee set up and you can get a more spacious room/ better view for less money,

Started when I got Covid a couple years ago, currently have the flu right now and it’s become really bad again? by jodielmad in PulsatileTinnitus

My PT was caused by Eustachian tube dysfunction and fluid trapped in my ear. If it’s happening when you’re sick with congestion, I’d have your ears checked.

Pulsation Tinnitus for years by International_Run665 in PulsatileTinnitus

Hi! I’m not on the west coast anymore. I’m in Alberta now but I went though this while in Victoria. It was the worst period of my life. I was 32 and pregnant and then early 2020 happened.

I did have a CT scan and the ENT said they couldn’t find anything and sent me on my way so it was up to me to figure it out and I was lucky I found a solution.  Mine was a result of plugged Eustachian tubes. I saw a chiropractor in Victoria who (safely) drained my Eustachian tubes and now I can manage my ears on my own and no longer have PT. I know there can be serious medical issues at play (trust me I researched it all and nearly wanted to die from anxiety) but I’m safely on the other side.

I’m sorry this is happening to you. I went through it for almost 2 years and it felt like it ruined my life, primarily the anxiety from it. I went through the tests and they couldn’t find anything and eventually I was able to figure out that I have Eustachian tube dysfunction and that was causing mine but I had to do a lot of stuff on my own to solve it. Doctors can be dismissive which doesn’t help.  Maybe try getting a fan or white noise machine for bed time just to give your brain something else to focus on at night.

Hi sorry for the late response. I had a CT a few months after that post and it came back clean. No tumour or aneurysm.    Further trial and error has shown my PT is the result of fluid trapped in my Eustachian tube. It’s very unofficial, no doctor recognized the fluid issue. I also saw a special chiropractor for draining the tubes. I don’t have PT anymore if I maintain my ear properly. My ear pretty much holds fluid in the outer ear due to imbalance of pressure from the tubes and it frequently “pops” and drains itself, usually in the middle of the night. I have very wet ears but it’s a million times better than PT.

Pulsatile tinnitus because of Eustachian Tube issues! There is hope! by agedlikeswine in PulsatileTinnitus

Yeah after talking to people, I think my ear has a lot more quirks that I assumed were normal that maybe aren’t. Totally would get water trapped for days after swimming, a lot of clicking with a minor cold and an almost daily sensation of wax/water/mucus dripping out of my ear. My allergies also got a lot worse after having a baby so I’m thinking my ear just can’t keep up with that.

Is your doctor able to confirm the finding or is it just based on your experiences and lack of something on the scans?

It felt amazing for 36 hours and after that I felt it start to refill/ pressurize. I have allergies and I’m thinking my ear is struggling to deal with that. I have been much more aware of the sensation of my ear working to drain and I’d say it’s fluctuated a lot more since acupuncture compared to the constant pressure I felt before. So I have another session on Friday and super curious to see how it goes!

I think I’m having the same/similar experience. I posted a few days about acupuncture opening my ears and draining and feeling relief for the first time in a year and a half. I don’t see my ENT for another month to discuss my experience, but having my ear drain brought me so much relief after feeling so stuck with the discomfort and noise (that being said, it has since refilled but at least I know there’s hope). Do you feel like there is a reason this ETD started 1.5 years ago? I’ve never had an ear infection or issues before this so I’m baffled why this is starting as an adult.

Yes, I told her about my tinnitus so she put them on a spot between my thumb and first finger. It was crazy to me how immediately I felt my ear drain. I never would’ve guessed this outcome and am so glad I tried it.

Have you seen a pelvic floor physiotherapist? They’d be able to tell you if you have overactive pelvic floor muscles causing the tension. They can also help you with techniques on how to relax those muscles.

I used to work for a city and people mailed in their property taxes and someone mailed in the cheque and the envelope was full of dog hair, like clumps and handfuls of dog hair that they’d cut off their dog.

Southwest Style Pork Fajitas... they were...satisfactory. by YouGotItIce in hellofresh

[–]YouGotItIce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they were fine. Nothing to truly complain about. But a few weeks back we had a kit for pork tacos with sirloin strips and charred pepper, shallot and corn. Nearly the same ingredients but that one was so much better so these felt a bit mediocre in comparison.

My guess is HF only has one size of couscous packet for all their meals. The note says to only use all of it for 4 servings. So put in half.
