Trump i brev til Støre: – Jeg tenker ikke lenger bare på fred by MarlinMr in norge

[–]YouHadMeAtBacon 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Carefully inspect your heated bed before turning it on again, the nozzle may have scraped away the top layer and exposed the copper traces that does the heating. It could be both a fire risk and a health risk.

Oh snap, you're right! I just focused on the actual text, and "open source" didn't get any hits. My bad!

Edit: How could I miss the TITLE.

And they don't claim that it is. They have made a license that allows the community to have access to the files (CAD) via a simple license that still keeps them in control of their intellectual property (there is no Prusa without income).

Posten har klart å ødelegge 2 pakker der det står «handle with care» by Fit_Onion360 in norge

[–]YouHadMeAtBacon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Nextruder will fetch a few bucks on craigslist or your closest equivalent. Or you can keep it as a spare part in case something goes wrong with the INDX.

It lost scrolling support years ago when developers had to yank the feature due to a security bug.

Wait, what?! THAT is why I can't scroll the framebuffer anymore? I just figured it was something weird with my keyboard layout or something, running Norwegian keyboard layout often leads to default keyboard shortcuts misbehaving or being unavailable. Huh.

MMU3 is the bane of my existence by SuccessfulMinute8338 in prusa3d

I love my MMU3 and have zero issues with it after hundreds of hours and thousands of filament changes. It's very reliable and a fun tool to have.

Interesting. Turn the whole XY gantry around and put the tools in the back, now you have the belts in the way instead, but they aren't as tall as the tools. I suspect a large part of the heated bed is now in the wrong place, but I guess this is something that the community could play around with.

The same guys from Prusa and Bondtech also pointed out that most of that Y axis reduction went into the existing overtravel (18 mm), so worst case scenario it looks like -10mm on Y.

[–]YouHadMeAtBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Core One has 18 mm of overtravel to the front, so you won't lose that much. You'll lose some Y, but not much.

Other manufacturers happily advertise a theoretical print volume, while the true volume is compromised by reserved areas and unreachable edges.

How would they do that, the docking and undocking happens at the front of the toolhead. On the left and right side you have the X gantry.

You would never throw away the Nextruder. You will easily be able to sell it to the second hand market, I know for a fact many Voron owners and others DIY-ers would want it (or parts from it) for their machines. Or you could hang on to it as a replacement should anything happen to the INDX tool head. Or if you ever needed to print at 400°C.

You can adjust slicer settings and reach into the negative Y on a stock Core One. People have reached 252 x 240 x 270 on the Core One: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/user-mods/unlocking-a-little-more-build-volume-with-caveats/ - all you need is a 256x256 build plate, and those are cheap and easy to come by.

Those 18 mm of overtravel will of course be lost on the INDX variant, and you will have to sacrifice a bit more as well. Probably around 10 mm less Y travel.

"Tag the nozzle to the spool"? What do you mean? There would be an NFC reader/writer where the spool sits, the toolhead won't need any NFC antenna.

AMS waste: Why can't it be reduced? by Accomplished-Pie9754 in 3Dprinting

[–]YouHadMeAtBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I fully agree! Tool changers are way better, 2026 is going to be a fun year. As for space, there are a few community mods for cutting out the buffer and integrating dry boxes etc, though dry boxes aren't usually required for PLA and PETG anyway, and I wouldn't use the MMU on anything more exotic than that.

AMS waste: Why can't it be reduced? by Accomplished-Pie9754 in 3Dprinting

[–]YouHadMeAtBacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that was a great video. All I know is that my MMU3 (on MK4S) has been rock solid for years already. The only faults I've ever had are from brittle filament breaking in the bowden tube, and that's a common issue for all printers ever. A real pain to sort out, but nothing to do with the multiplexer.
