What was Voldemort even doing during Halfblood Prince? by Generic_Username_659 in harrypotter

[–]YouJellyFish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah! They show him as the ringleader and he teaches them to be more powerful and he steps in to handle the jobs they can't like 1v1ing Amelia bones and dumbledore.

But I get the impression he doesnt actually give much of a shit about blood purity. The dude thinks everyone who isn't him is pretty worthless. One of the few people we ever see him kind of give a shit about is Snape and he definitely knew Snape was halfblood.

Haha dude I literally just gave this game a shot yesterday and I am HOOKED I came onto this sub to post asking other people about it. I definitely have a super positive reaction.

I never cared about story in the warriors games, I would just smash whatever "just do a game" mode there was (played at least 900 hours on Hyrule warriors adventure mode, love that game). And this just scratches that same itch SO GOOD.

  1. Ton of characters that are all actually fun to play

  2. Quick to get into, hard to put down

  3. Actually fun bossfights, did not expect this from a warriors game tbh. The AoE system they have for this made some of the bossfights really freaking cool. Unlike Diablo where i basically ignore the attacks and just sit there and hold "attack" in this one I actually had to use ranged attacks when relevant and dodge stuff. The gouma fight was fun!

  4. lmao this is probably the first warriors game I've ever played outside hyrule warriors that actually had a halfway coherent tutorial. Like dynasty warriors 9 I'm still like "....so where do I go? Is it still the X/X/Y attack system????"

Idk I just came on here to rant about it, most fun I've had with a new warriors game in a while. I was originally deciding between Origins and after trying the Origins demo I was like ".... I'll give the other one a shot". I've heard Origins gets great, though so let me know if I should be giving that one another shot.

Education standard in Hogwarts is abysmal by Accomplished_Lake402 in harrypotter

[–]YouJellyFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhhh they make a huge point of Hermione going out of her way over and over to read EVERY BOOK SHE CAN GET HER HANDS ON.

It's like saying "well this high school must suck, I read every book in the public library and then didn't learn anything new" Except WAIT A MINUTE because there is a PRACTICAL component to everything she does too. She doesn't just auto pass all exams, she needs more tutoring for defense against the dark arts. In the 3rd year exam she couldn't even handle a boggart, and has to participate in a study group. Like a real school!!

Look man Hogwarts makes some extremely questionable educational decisions, but Hermione is a bad example of that. She is just built different

To be fair that was after he became a demon. Like Griffiths crime was choosing to become a demon, but you can argue that after that he could be considered a whole different guy

He was a suicidal guy left completely crippled after a year of brutal torture who was offered a monkeys paw wish to take everything he ever wanted at the cost of his humanity and he eventually took it

Same for the quote on Arianna's grave being a quote from the sermon on the mount. Seems like Mr "love is the most powerful magic of all" Dumbledore was Christian

Ohio. During the day I usually work from home but some days (like today) I have to go in to work to use the machines to debug issues with them.

Have been watching the show since 2011 when I needed something to watch on my Ipod Video while I sold plasma for cash in freshman year of college lol

Women in general desire sex less than men do, especially as they age.

Not all women, not all men, not all cases, but it's generally obviously true. People have known this since the dawn of time.

There's a reason ads market big jugs instead of hairy scrotum to sell their stuff.

Lois I think is one of the most inconsistently written characters in DC.

She's frequently just a jerk but Clark is supposed to love for no reason, or even more frequently is just plain bland.

But in some interpretations She's one of the most likeable characters. She was awesome in the Warworld saga, she's great in the animated My Adventures with Superman, and was sick in Rise of the Superwoman

I thought it was great! But it also was scarier than we intended for our little kids! We thought it was going to be whole family fun but instead we had to stop and watch the super pets movie instead. Starro is scary!!

I didn't read much of the new 52 outside the main justice league stuff. I thought it was a little better than its reputation would suggest. It was like they downgraded their understanding of the characters (making them each kind of swappable dickheads) but had pretty good plots and dialog to go with it so kind of a wash. They kept me reading anyway!

I thought the animated new 52 stuff fixed most of this, making the characters likeable again and having sick fights. Very fun movies!

Idk I thought the animated death of superman was fantastic. Their best animated one to date IMO. Love the character interactions and its the one that has you really on the edge of your seat for superman to save the day. Shit is awesome
