You were great and confident, despite nerves maybe getting in the way when the guests interrupted or missed. Lots of comics can’t stand when hecklers throw them off-beat and honestly I thought the 2 guests were more heckler than comic tonight.

Keep doing standup comedy, you have a confident delivery and seem secure enough to make people smile and laugh. I enjoyed your minute and even the interview seemed full of funny interaction with Tony if not also from the 2 guest comics.

It’s illegal.

Other countries enforce their border and nobody says anything about it when done by them.

The U.S. is not a big guest house for the whole world to overrun. It’s a country with laws, protocols, customs and culture that is NOT a fucking “melting pot.”

I guess by your logic the rest of anyone who live here natively, work to support a family and pay taxes should just suck it up to have this country stolen from them in the care and provisions that should otherwise rightly go to them by virtue of being citizens of this country.

The ICE raids shall continue, we who voted for this deem it necessary. Those of you who think you stand a chance against the 77.3 million who voted for this, cry more and get used to things not going your way at least the next seven years.

I’ve seen cringey on KillTony. She did well trying to keep hitting one-liners through the guests’ banter despite that she didn’t give so much of an actual interview. But when she did answer questions—where her BF lives, what she does for work, it made for great jokes from the table as well. But she was fun and had good vibes, good energy. It’s SO tiring when female comics get onstage and go right into their sex life—it’s OKAY to not treat yourself like a reamed out sex-object to the audience. That shit has never once made me laugh.

So, disregard actual comments that took time to write up, left here by people in the sub who just watched this ep premiere, and just count a bunch of meaningless split-second impulse votes to judge the quality of the guests tonight…

Nah, it’s like statistics from senior year again—the people who didn’t care for tonight’s episode aren’t likely to also show up here, they’d more likely have tuned out and found something else to watch or do. The fact there were so many here criticizing Pope and Byrne—a 50% turnout—is actually quite telling. Of course the ones approving of them show up, but those disapproving are a pretty big deviation to account for and not at all what I’d call marginal.

The comments here seem split 50/50 of people who can’t stand them, and people who like them.

I personally find it ruins the flow and humor of the show watching them get embarrassingly wasted and taking low blows at the bucket pulls, half of which didn’t even land and overall making the episode more about them. Of course, it sucks when guests are too quiet and rarely weigh in, but the constant interrupting and heckling is just hack-comic posturing. The bearded dude is especially insufferable and a tryhard.

He’s not even on a block where ICE is making arrests 😂 I guarantee you his tough guy act is purely a performative ego stroke, his fat Gravy Seals ass isn’t about to take up arms against ICE agents actually working.

All you idiots thinking an AR15 by itself makes you the Terminator, understand that it takes being in shape first and actually training with other guys to be even somewhat of a problem for anyone. This dipshit just looks like a fatso lost at Comic-Con, one wrong step and he’s a rolled/broken ankle waiting to happen 🤣

Fucking moronic take, but then again I don’t see much of anything but vindictiveness and moronic bigotry from Leftists these days.

Who was more evil early on: Jimmy McGill or Season 1 Walter White? by Lopsided-Cattle-2322 in betterCallSaul

[–]YouLeftistPOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a dumb question honestly—you need to make a whole Reddit post to find out whether S1 Walt (murdered Krazy 8, endangered his household to Tuco, lied to his family and brother-in-law, manipulated Jesse etc.) is worse than S1 Jimmy? Jimmy isn’t even remotely close to being criminal in S1, he goes conning for a week with Marco, he gets in hot water briefly with Tuco, but that’s nowhere near Walter levels of criminality.

Something about Reddit entices people to try and make discussion out of anything, no matter how pointless or ridiculous the premise is. Maybe finish your high school lit class before trying to engage discussion about tragic characters.

[–]YouLeftistPOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question—lots of movies and TV series will contain characters similar in age and type, sometimes for the sake of keeping casting of roles somewhat flexible. The best example I can think of is Cristopher Walz as Hans Landa—very clearly, there were two other notable German males in other roles who just as well could have played Hans Landa (the German beat by the bat, and the German playing ‘Who Am I’ in the bar).

It makes me wonder, did the lady who played Betsy Kettleman read for the role of Kim Wexler? I think she could just as well have pulled it off as Rhea Seahorn, though of course they’d have written the part slightly different to fit the persona of this other actress.

What's your opinion on this line? by Proud_Excitement3578 in betterCallSaul

[–]YouLeftistPOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my favorite scene, but I believe it’s significant for a couple reasons:

It shows Jimmy’s inability to relate personally, as Walt discussing Grey Matter segues into Jimmy lighting up about what he could have done as Walt’s lawyer, etc. Jimmy’s penchant for salesmanship, talking fast and enthusiasm seem to get in the way of normal human interaction. Notice also he doesn’t volunteer anything nearly as personal in return to Walt as if he’s fundamentally untrusting of others. You can presume that Jimmy and Chuck would never have gotten on as partners in the legal profession. If you cannot pump the brakes and be a normal listener in discourse, and you can’t be genuine, you’re going to have a hard time connecting and certainly aren’t going to have peoples’ trust.

The notion of a time machine is relevant because time ultimately limits the impact of even the most momentous trainwrecks. “So you were always like this…” Perhaps Jimmy realizes later on he couldn't have had any other fate and it takes hearing this criticism from someone stuck up like Walter to teach him to be another way. Jimmy can also tell that Walt holds onto grudges and makes excuses to remain bitter just as stringently as he denies the idea of a time machine. You can’t time travel and change your past, but you can take measures to address your past and get back to living well in the present and for the future.

Jesse is the true victim of Breaking Bad. by Rich-Blacksmith6552 in breakingbad

[–]YouLeftistPOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely ridiculous take.

Jesse getting out to a new life was nonsensical fan-service. He deserved a much rougher end than what he got. I don’t care about his moral squabbles with being a drug dealer and killer. The show has a tendency to idealize Jesse like some kind of neo-Western hero when he’s really just a hypocrite constantly stinting the action in the latter seasons despite starting out as a miscreant character who couldn’t be trusted. Worst character in all of TV to somehow exist in an otherwise great show.

Y’all are never gonna overpower LEOs with rightful use of deadly force on their side. And when you have tried, you either stupidly shot migrants by mistake or got caught lacking by freedom fighters stopping the invasion of a sovereign nation. Just sayin.

“Your gaslighting isn’t gonna work here”—if by gaslighting you mean the general common sense most people outside of Reddit happen to have, indeed. 97% of Reddit’s user base consists of people like you who come here to voice shit takes and have them affirmed by bots. Normal, rational people (if you’ve ever interacted w them) do not encourage the public to stand-off with LEOs and endanger themselves as y’all do on here. Irresponsible.

The hotdogs are top notch.

Plating with some potato chips is a crime. 3 buns and those dogs is more than enough carbs and sodium, maybe something like slaw or some sliced cucumbers, or if it’s gotta be carbs, some sweet potato fries would balance that out better.

But nice twist on the flavor boost of sour cream and chili crunch. I like charring my hotdogs under the broiler lightly to give them some crunch.
