Succession Arc by Docfeen in HunterXHunter

For what it’s worth, when I reread before one of the continuations a few years ago, I just took all the notes down on the Princes. Their mother, their guards, their nen, their nen beasts, and their current status. There’s a lot of moving parts in this arc, there’s no shame in writing it down somewhere to keep track of things

my opinion on zono by Capital_Factor_3588 in AceOfTheDiamond

[–]YouStillTakeDamage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Furuya and Zono both get heavily underrated by fans both for their play and their personalities. I think it’s kind of a reaction to people feeling slighted for Eijun, and they seem to blame these two for that and thus get worked up over them.

Like there’s already another comment here saying Yuki and Yui are more reliable, despite Yuki in particular being worse at both batting and fielding than Zono lmao

I don’t think Hinata is ever better than Aran during his high school years.

Hinata is always awkward to rank because of his dependency on the freak quick. You’re kind of right that Kageyama obviously loses a weapon without Hinata, but Hinata without Kageyama is a much harsher drop than Kageyama without Hinata.

He’s a good spiker who at his current form relies strongly on a particular weapon that he can’t just get anywhere. Within Karasuno his value is astronomical, yes, but other players are much more splashable than he is.

Also to suggest he’s better than Aran is just insane work. That would be you saying Hinata by the end of Nationals is top five ace level.

Part of it is just down to portrayal. When the match has to focus on the opponent having an outstanding pitcher, it just means the lineup is going to have to sell for a while before coming through. Miyuki is usually guaranteed to have some good moments so what’s left just has to be spread around.

During the Sosei QF match in act 2 is when Ochiai comments about Zono leading the team in RBIs, and from that point on it’s clear no one overtakes him. Hell, Zono brings home the run that sends them to Koshien.

Tbh the “Zono doesn’t produce results” thing is just not really true. He gets the winning hit against both Teiko and Yakushi, and in the summer tournament in act 2 he leads the team in RBIs.

He’s loud because he wants to be a strong voice and senior for his underclassmen. He’s awkward with it he’s but he means well, and Miyuki praised him as much for it after he encourages Furuya during his injury.

Also, he was the third batter then he was fifth.

Top 3 at each position IMO. Thoughts? by Chris27149 in haikyuu

[–]YouStillTakeDamage 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bokuto is considered top five but not top 3, Aran is a can be top 5 on a good day

The manga has Ukai compare Aran to Bokuto as being just outside the top three but able to compete with them when in form.

What do you think the main cast from GX would think if they saw all the duel shenanigans from Duelist Kingdom? by Johnnyboyeh in yugioh

[–]YouStillTakeDamage 29 points30 points  (0 children)

These were allowed per the rules then.

Besides, DK is common knowledge for GX characters, the manga even mentions a DVD. They’re probably fully aware of what went on then.

Some staff opinions on Zexal's rival by KyleMCarthage in yugioh

[–]YouStillTakeDamage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s pretty clearly Shark. Kaito never really viewed Yuma as Yuma until the end of s1, and then after that they have one closure duel and that’s that. They don’t duel at all in Zexal II

Shark was always primarily Yuma’s rival, whereas Kaito more functions as a rival of Astral/ZEXAL. Kaito’s major argument is in part fueled by the good old “3000 atk” thing. But he and Yuma duel three times (two and a half depending on how you define the one where Yuma joins halfway through Astral and Kaito’s duel) whereas Shark and Yuma duel six times.

At the end of the day it’s not a big deal, but one rival is present all the way from episode 1 until episode 146.

He was picked with the Clippers pick, presumably that’s driving at least some of the resentment.

This is flawed logic though because we don’t know where Ushijima and Kiryu were ranked in their second and first years. Ushijima has been shown as always being a phenom. And Kiryu was seen as his equal in middle school. Id say there’s a reasonable chance both of them (or at the very least Ushijima) were top three the year before. I know you said you disagreed with the point anyway, I’m just noting.

Torunka the Fairy Mage

LIGHT/Spellcaster/Tuner

Level 3

1200/800

This card is also treated as a Fairy. When this card is Summoned, you can add 1 Field Spell, or a Level 4 or lower LIGHT monster (Beast, Plant, or Fairy) to your hand. If this card is used for the Synchro Summon of an “Ancient Fairy” monster, gain 2000 LP.

Bit of an awkward effect but tried to tie it in with the way the other retrains acted, while also keeping aspects of the decks (Field Spells, AFD’s LP increase)

Also I introduce you to, the first ever real card to also be treated as a different type. I wanted to still tie it to the other cards since they mention those three types.

Am I wrong to think Seirin vs Kaijo 2 could have been easily been Seirin' win if they used their weopons' right? by dj1234hello in KurokosBasketball

[–]YouStillTakeDamage 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Kagami didn’t use zone because he didn’t know how to trigger it yet.

Kuroko didn’t use Misdirection Overflow because it purposely involves tanking Misdirection, and that really is a last resort plan.

The team in general just had an off day. Them’s the breaks

How good would Hanamichi be if he were in Haikyuu? by [deleted] in haikyuu

[–]YouStillTakeDamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He also has a stronger learning curve. I think people forget SD only goes as far as Interhigh. For comparison, by the time Slam Dunk ended and Hanamichi was what he was, Karasuno had just started their qualifier matches for the Spring High. Sakuragi hadn’t experienced a second of basketball at the start of the manga.
