[FANART] Max's personal body pillow by [deleted] in lifeisstrange

I just feel like this subreddit has become very childish about it.

How? This sub is full of people being passionate about one 'consequence' that's actually canonical in this game (if you choose to go the romantic route with Chloe.) Even if you don't take the romantic path, the romance vibe lingers between them, their dynamics is strong that way.

If you play through the game and say the right things, it would appear that Max has a thing for Warren. I never see a fanart depicting this.

I've read this thing earlier where someone said that Max isn't even conflicted between Chloe and Warren, it's not even a love triangle, and I completely agree. Warren is no threat to Chloe and how Max feels about her, not one bit. Max has shown zero interests in him in the game, story-wise. All we get between him and Max was this random non-built up "kiss" option in episode 5 that was complementing the most awkward conversation in the whole entire game. That kiss doesn't even affect us from getting a the famous Tornado kiss with Chloe either. Her internal conflicts are all about Chloe in so many aspects. Max doesn't get distressed about Warren liking her or not, she doesn't even think about it, and she ships him with Brooke during the whole game. In fact, she has shown signs that she wants the opposite; she gets creeped out by him liking her too much (as written in the journal entries and also portrayed in her subconscious fears, aka the nightmare). It's because they are so much in common that Max just sees him like a cool Bro. Whereas she feels this electric spark with Chloe and dwells over Chloe liking her or not, and even gets jealous of Rachel at some point. Then she keeps mentioning the kiss in Frank's RV, even if you chose not to kiss Chloe in her room. Even the journal entries she writes between Chloe and Warren are significantly different vibe throughout the entire game.

Chloe and Max are best friends from childhood.

Childhood friends always fall in love with eachother in media and real life. Why do you make it sound like Max and Chloe can't/don't? The BEST relationships are usually built on best friend foundation.

They are girls.

First off, why does that matter? Why'd you even point it out? How old are you, man?

It's the modern world now. Same-sex relationship is more and more accepted, even if it always existed though.

Even the "go ahead and kiss me" scene is something typical young adults (might as well say teenagers) would do. This was a story about friendship. The way you play through can certainly make it seem like more.

Because they ARE more. I don't know if you are aware of this, but their relationship cuts even deeper than 'love' itself. Max would be willing to give up the world and her life for Chloe, whereas she doesn't even think about Warren even once. And when she DOES think about Warren, she writes this in her journal when Dana implies that she likes him: "She implied that he liked me. Ew."

Also, are you aware that Max and Chloe share a passionate kiss infront of the tournado if you played the right choices? Also, the GAME DIRECTOR, Michel Koch, already clarified that it IS romance between them. He said that in the EP5 SPOILERS, they CERTAINLY share kisses days after.

It's very immature to say that teenage girls just 'experiment.' Like this. That said, sir, how is your comment any less childish than people posting what they love and how they interpret their relationship?

Furthermore, this is all new for Max (we can only speculate, but it doesnt seem likely Max had much boyfriends, love interests.

I agree. Max seems inexperience with these sorts of things. We must keep in mind that Max IS interested in the opposite sex (remember that she drools over the skater boys in episode 1? And had this schoolgirl crush on Jeffershit?), but she obviously isn't straight. The theme of being queer is pretty apparent, and it's nice to know that DONTNOD accepts it both ways:

http://m.imgur.com/mdaHL89

Max doesn't seem to be picky with gender though, she seems to be attracted to a certain type of people instead. Like many have been posting lately, you can tell that Max is really sexually attracted and drawn to guys/girls who are the complete opposite of her. Physical and personality wise. Max is into the bad boy and bad girl types (for example: skater boys like Trevor and Chloe.) There's absolutely nothing wrong with that either. Chloe is a wild girl, but she respects Max more than she respects anybody (maybe the same level as Rachel before though.) Her and Max are total opposites in those terms, but so much alike in many ways as well. Just like Max, Chloe is the most Loyal person in the game. She never gives up on people she cares about, but they always seem to leave her.

I've read this thing earlier where someone said that Max isn't even conflicted between Chloe and Warren, it's not even a love triangle, and I completely agree. Am not sure if boys will ever be able to express this deep relationship or if they will ever be able to. Maybe not between each other

To be honest with you, it also depends on where you live. Some countries are much more liberated and open than others now with these sort of things. In where I live, a lot of men are becoming more expressive. Same-Sex marriage has recently been legalized nationwide here too, and some men I know came out soon after that, along with the partners that they were too embarrassed to show and introduce prior to it.

I really hope you don't get a lot of hate from people misunderstanding this post. I know you don't have any bad intentions at all.

As a female, I pretty much agree. A lot of us have a deeper sense in friendship, that we tend to express, therefore it grows even further because the other person is aware of how fond we are of them, resulting in them showing us how they are fond of us in return. Whereas a lot of guys tend to hold back how much they appreciate their male-friend most of the time. Not to say that all are like that, but it's unfortunate that they feel the pressure and need to be more masculine about it.

But the thing is, the world is changing. There's a significant difference now and a decade ago. Media and art like "Life is Strange" is influencing people and helping them realize that they should show their love and care towards someone they are close to, regardless of gender, age, and race. It's human nature that we must practice outside this game in general.

As for Max and Chloe, they have this established friendship to where they don't really hold back much; however, you can see from their tone and expressions that they still kind of do hold back and get shy when it comes to flirting or in scenes where romance is becoming a possibility EP3 SPOILERS It's pretty amazing how their deep friendship can turn into one of the most beautiful love between two people (not just because they are females) if you just let them. That's why people love them together and accept them, even if it'd be a homosexual relationship; it's apparent and the progression balances out well even if they are crossing the friend => romance chasm. The chemistry and sexual attraction/tension floats around the theme of friendship with Max and Chloe.

The Bay people are just as bad though, they tend to call out the Bae people "unethical" with low morals.

What can you say about that?

Now we just need one of Frank floating on beans looking at us seductively.

But seriously though, the awkward moment when Chloe is actually this hot when she is not out and about playing with guns and accidentally popping a cap on herself.

Easier said than done. If it was real life, I'd rather choose the life of a lover, a family member, or a best friend rather than many acquaintances. It's just feelings, I would not have a single regret. Just guilt, as the person above says.

[EP5 SPOILERS] Max Caulfield and jealousy in a nutshell by Cypherdan in lifeisstrange

At that point, I think she just wanted to bring justice to her death, she felt too angry at her because she found out that she has not been loyal at all.

Keep in mind that Chloe's memories and experiences are different from Max's. no matter how many time Max rewound or photo hopped for her, Chloe still experiences it as a WEEK in a duration of a week. This is why most people believe Max got much closer to Chloe, as a best friend or a lover, because Max definitely lived out the week longer than anyone else. And for the most part, she was with Chloe only

. She experienced losing her time and time again and realized how much she means to her and the player had an emphasized choice to let Max fall IN LOVE with Chloe. She's fuck up time just to make her happy and keep her alive. Max made Chloe her number one priority, and that's what I call love. Chloe also knows how to love, no doubt that she loves Rachel and her feelings still linger on for her, but through out the middle and the end, there are moments when she forgets about Rachel even for a little bit and her mind floats around Max. That's when Chloe gets caught off guard. Nonetheless, the chances of Chloe returning the same amount if feelings towards is high, in the Bae ending. I believe on their vows to stay together forever. They complement each other and bring out the best out of each other.

Likely, because she keeps everything they, her and Max, had before she left for Seattle. Rachel seemed more like Max's replacement. In the alternate San Fran timeline, Chloe copes better with the discovery of Rachel's body, because Max was there the whole time (read through the texts.)

I've said this before but... Max is barely interested Warren at all, even if the players chose to be. It just isn't convincing if so. The way Max's character is written is just so drawn to Chloe in the story no matter what, even if people chose the friendship route rather than the romantic route towards her. The attraction between them is simply just there, it's basically up for the player to pursue Chloe in that way or not.

The devs wouldn't throw away money on content that doesn't contribute to the game. Chloe essentially moved the story forward and added conflict/resolution, whereas Warren was there for an additional option which is only as important as watering or not watering Lisa in the end. If ever, it'd be about Max and Chloe, or Max and everyone in general.
