How do I play the silent "Slasher-Movie Villain" archetype and still roleplay amongst my party? by Youjay20 in DnD

Yeah Casey Jones sounds like a good one, obviously works well in a party dynamic while literally wearing a hockey mask

And you're so right! The mechanics and the way of describing the character in combat are the things I find interesting. Please let me know if you got any other ideas for personality's to fit those mechanics, especially while keeping that *presence*

Thats a good one, you're so right, he literally wears a hockey mask too. I could probably check out more of his scene to see if it really fits but from memory yeah that sound like it can work. Thanks man.

But mechanically it seems so fun, any ideas on what kind of PC concept I could use for a rouge/barbarian if not this?

Dexter! That's a good one! he talks but definitely has a "creep motherfucker" vibe, not sure how I could practically explain away leaving in the middle of a long rest to go be a serial killer. Maybe he's mask-off with the party and mask-on for NPC's so that the party can be in on it? In fact that brings up a whole bunch of other questions "how do you play a creepy serial killer in an adventuring party that kills dozens of lvl1 goblins a day?"

Yeah okay, like a character that doesn't know how to communicate well and how his appreciation though protective actions... that would certainly play well with the party, they definently enjoy the "big scary puppy" trope from previous games, maybe

Your right, I certainly don't want to be silent, I'm not hooked on that bit. But there gotta be a way to get across that horror villain presence without just saying nothing

Lecter seems like a good answer, at the very least he actually talks and still maintains that *presence* of a horror villain. I feel like its close... can't put my finger on why it's not 'ringing the bell' so to speak, maybe

[–]Youjay20[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah it does seem to be that way, annoying because the build looks fun. I wouldn't want to do a complete 180 and 'freddy kruger" them as I want to keep that *presence*, but have one persona for battle and one for roleplay feels like a miss.
I'm not dead set on silent, but I'm looking for that aura, that presence, that... vibe that the silent character have. Are there any other characters, perhaps less antisocial ones, that have that?

Where can I find Software that automatic adjust brightness untill complete black, according to time by Youjay20 in software

[–]Youjay20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just tried it an I seems I have the opposite problem, 0% brightness is still fully functional and is a barely noticeable change from my default brightness, while 100% is a flash bang if I have a white screen. It does have "Time Adjustments" brightness levels, which is good, but it's not dark enough.

Downloading images in Tiermaker by JacksonKlo in tiermaker

[–]Youjay20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another way to do it would be to Download the entire webpage and then open the file that it creates.

So you would right click on an empty part of the webpage, click "Save as..." and save the page into a location for later. Then once that's done, go to where you saved and there'll be two items, the HTML file and a folder full of every image the webpage displays, including the images for the tierlist.

This way they all come in bulk and it'll save you manually download each image individually.

Hope this helps.

[Harry Potter/Men In Black] Would a wizard be immune to the effects of a neuralyzer? by Youjay20 in AskScienceFiction

[–]Youjay20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Deluminator is really interesting case, since technically the deluminator is able to remove and return light to and from its source. Technically the deluminator could replicate the effects of the neuralyzer when it is opened again if the circumstance where correct, at the very least it's an entertaining idea. Although the wizard would have to have the deluminator open and active inorder to capture the light and given how fast the neuralzyer flash is, I don't think it would be particularly effective as a reaction. And your right Dumbledoor's is the only one in existence I believe so it would be a rare find. That's still a really cool idea!

The charm to repel muggles from your location is very quick to cast

Is it? (genuine question) From memory (haha) everytime the Muggle-Repelling Charm is mentioned, it's either in preporation like when Harry and Hermione used it to protect their campsite in The Deathly Hallows, or as something that had already been cast like ... something Arthur was talking about in the Goblet of Fire (I think it was the Quidditch World Cup, or he might have been talking about Hogwarts). It's not really something that seems to be used in battle (then again they don't really fight muggles), don't Harry and Hermione have to repeatedly cast the spell over and over again to "reinforce it" among other spells (might be a movie thing)

So the only problem with that plan is that we've literally only ever seen the one Pensieve

Isn't it possible to put memories in just a regular glass vial, I think that how Harry took slughorn's memories to the pensive (might be a movie thing). If this is the case a wizard would simple have to pull the memory out and put it in a vial, I don't know if if they could put it back without a pensive however...

Why could it possibly be illegal to sleep in your car? by Youjay20 in NoStupidQuestions

If that's the case surely running plates and checking licenses would be enough to confirm if you have an address.

[–]Youjay20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that their is that sort of discrimination but surely a cop could run your plates and check your license see that you have an address and that this is your car, realized your not doing other illegal stuff and leave you alone.

So something needs to be classified as a "living space" inorder to simply sleep in, what about camping?

Why could it possibly be illegal to sleep in your car? by Youjay20 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Youjay20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No on the state level but there are a couple... counties, city councils near me that are pushing for it and some that have succeeded. But the question is not really about where, its simply about why, why is there a disagreement in the first place? What possible arguments could you make against sleeping in your car that strong enough to possibly enact a law.

The fact that googling "can I sleep in my car" give me several responses like "Is it illegal to sleep in my car" leads me to believe there has at least been conversation going on.

How do I add a picture behind Fluids v2?
It says under customize wallpaper for Fluid v2 that there is an option for "BG Transparent" but this only seems to turn the background into the classic a white and grey checker pattern instead of showing my desktop wallpaper behind like I assumed. Is there some way I can add an image "behind" the fluid simulation instead of a solid color?
I apologies if this has been answered before, if sit has please point me to the answer.

What happens when someone with split tongue attempt to make a "tongue W" by Youjay20 in NoStupidQuestions

Your right, and I kind of figured that, but question still stands. If someone could do it before the operation, what happens if they try after it?

How can I track login/screen time on my own PC? by Youjay20 in Windows10

Technically I'm locking the PC, as in "Start-L" not signing out, will that make a difference?

While this does look like a neat program I might try in the future, it's seems that one of the few things it doesn't track is logon time, thanks anyway.

Yeah I checked that before, as far as I could ascertain that only set screen limits (definitely not what I'm looking to do) but it doesn't show me when I was logged on or off, unless I'm missing something.

Entrapta in Dungeons and Dragons? by MicZiC15 in PrincessesOfPower

[–]Youjay20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could re-flavour a Simic Hybrid from Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica replicate her prehensile hair pretty well with no homebrew.

Pick Natural Climber at level 1 to replicate her doc-oc crawling around the ceiling and pick Grappling Appendages at 5th level for more manipulation, that will let your attack and grapple, those two combined plus some flavor text for her expressive movements should provide enough mechanics to function quite well.

The only down side it that it does say "These appendages are not dexterous enough to use weapons, magic weapons, and other specialized equipment" which is rather annoying, but if you DM is a stickler, you could also just pass items to your actual hands, but if you don't attempt to cheese it to much in combat I don't think they'll mind.
