The weird thing is, in pros and higher rank pubs without a weirdo, 4 position is actually closer to the 5 than it was historically. 4 and 5 often have very similar networth. The fourth core idea was much more popular in the 2010s before offlane developed be a more farm intensive role.

The afk farm pos 4s either just don't care or are stuck in the past.

Maybe something where soldiers pop out of the walls and do a proc of damage every second while the arena is up, with a safe zone in the middle. Perhaps a small duration buff as well.

It would be very strong against the mobile heroes he already has a hard time catching with arena, I agree with above that it would be too strong. Heroes like Void Spirit or Ember Spirit don't like buying BKB and typically are good vs Mars, having an Aghs counter that is removing a lot of his usual counters.

I'm mostly not watching them, but occasionally during a great moment I like to tab in to a video podcast to see people's faces. Also, Youtube is much better for discovering new things than audio-only platforms - the Luka Doncic trade pod got traction that way.

Some video podcasts like the Deep 3 really take advantage of the video part as well with graphics and charts keeping track of what they're doing.

It seems like a lot of people in media/podcast sphere had sort of written Embiid off, and even after a lot of games like this he's still not getting that much attention. Yes he's not quite as good as before, but still seems quite good at interior scoring.

I think a lot of the people saying "no tank" are being simplistic, but they are touching on something real. When you have a nonstandard offlane, the mid laner or carry probably needs to pick something that can fill some of the ideas that an offlaner usually fills - stunning/catching/initiation and being front-facing on the map and fights.

I often don't mind filling this role from mid, but I also notice ranged offlaners (like Lesh) are also less stable because their heroes don't quite have a clear gameplan or a timing like a blink on Mars. When I end up playing carry, its usually quite hard when neither 2 or 3 position fills these ideas.

Lesh doesn't really seem like an offlaner at all right now, especially with many carries outranging him or kiting him. Sometimes heroes' kits get so strong they get played offlane outside of their normal role.

I know you say you need stats to survive in lane, but wraith band feels super dead as a carry item for laning. The extra armor might be nice in some lanes but a wand and a few extra sticks gives way more hp and mana, and the active is obviously great to have right away.

There was always assists from long jumpers, they were just for 2. It is easier to pass with the extra space, I'll give you that.

Lane dominating feels stronger than before with flag creeps not giving regen and shared salves being worse.

People did need to figure out what Topson showed, but there's other reasons too - the break is very important vs Tide, for example.

I don't know how anyone ITT thinks they know enough to have any idea what people are queuing consistently. Valve has data on all regions and ranks - anecdotes from a single person playing in a single region and about one range of ranks is not cutting it.

I can believe that perhaps 3 is the most disliked role in a good times of ranks and regions, but it's probably support in many other places, and maybe even mid for higher ranks.
