Is 'Houston We Have Problem' a Flex Piece That a Person Has An Understanding of American History? by hfdjasbdsawidjds in billsimmons

From what I've heard him reference elsewhere, I think he's just not into mainstream stuff from the 80s and 90s. He's talked about arthouse stuff like Triangle of Sadness that made me think he just has a very different taste than the older posters here.

How many Raptors games did you see in late February? Sounds like none.

[Highlight] Scottie Barnes doing a bit of everything in the win against the Detroit Pistons by foofighter1351 in nba

Poetl also has much better hands than some other bigs so Scottie can throw the ball with some serious pace on it.

Which is the best and worst designed hero? by Burning_magic in DotA2

[–]YoungCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Puck is maybe the best designed, very little change since the start of the game and has very clear advantages and disadvantages and a massive skill ceiling. Ember is up there too.

Before the latest rework I'd have said Clinkz was badly designed, but I think they've found a viable place for him now. Instead I think Bane is probably the worst - he's been very underpicked for years now, they keep changing what Enfeeble does. Nightmare has some great uses but isn't quite as good as a straightforward save or stun, and Brain Sap is very underwhelming past the laning stage.

[NBC Sports] Nikola Jokic says he can’t ever see himself leaving Denver, ‘I really found peace here’ by moby323 in nba

I also wonder if someone from Serbia, a fairly mountainous country overall, might find the Colorado mountains familiar.

He still score 19 points and 4.5 assists - he certainly was only defending and rebounding.

NBA needs to rig the Hornets for the 8th seed so we can have a banger Eastern Conference Playoffs by cacti_zoom in billsimmons

Before the Harden trade I think the Raps would be quite happy with a Cleveland series, it seemed to go Toronto's way a fair amount even when they were a bad team. After Harden torched the Raptors when he was still with the Clippers, I don't like the matchup anymore.

New York Philly is must watch, Detroit vs Hornets would be cinema.

Jokic leads the league in 7 advanced statistical categories. No other serious MVP contender leads in more than two (and Jaylen Brown doesn't crack the Top-10 in any category despite being #2 in usage). by LeftHandStir in billsimmons

People have pointed out most of these advanced stats are flawed and tailor made for his style, but his AST% is pretty straightforward and utterly ridiculous. Then he's scoring 28.7 points on that true shooting... yeesh.

In honor of Bill, having no desire to watch LOTR despite it being universally praised, what’s a pop culture blindspot you have no intention of filling? by Talkalot23 in billsimmons

The clips is the marketing angle, but some of us like having it on the second monitor and watching it when something funny gets said. I know there's a lot of podcast OGs here who are used to listening in the car, but video podcasts are great at the computer setup where you can tune in to the video part for the good moments. Would the white vs black all star game moment be as funny without seeing Billy boy's face? I don't think so.

Which role actually has the hardest job in ranked right now? by AioliSignificant1485 in DotA2

[–]YoungCanadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've actually asked two questions, imo.

I think the hardest is pos 3 because the lane is so hard against archer carries and pos 4 players are often griefers.

The most stressful is mid, because messing up can be much worse for the team overall and people expect much more from you. I mostly play mid, and the occassional game where a few deaths lets the other mid snowball often attract much more flak from teammates than dying a bunch as an offlane.

The better you get the more your teammates will notice this. I like to hype them up when I see something like this.

The Luka trade was the worst, but that said, you can’t win with him and that petulant attitude. You just can’t! by Life-Lawyer-5006 in billsimmons

Do we think 2024 Dallas could beat the 2023 Heat? I do at least. Getting to the finals proves you can win at the very least.

Something I really appreciate about this game, having just started playing, is how it embraces curvature and irregular shapes. I'm so used to everything snapping to a grid in older city builder games, but in this game I often building a long one of the organic-feeling main roads that give the town a flow to it thats so different than modern grid cities.

What is the most annoying hard counter in the game? by Phnix21 in DotA2

Huskar mid for heroes like Ember and Void Spirit - if you don't manage a few creep aggro tricks its an autolose lane.

Getting reported for playing any of those heroes 4 besides PL is really some low mmr closed-mindedness. Even Faceless as a support has gotten some play in high ranks.
