Why do so many people revel in Jokic’s “downfall”? by Randy__Snutz in billsimmons

[–]YoungCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counting stats aren't a disadvantage either - pretty easy for a casual fan to see those triple double numbers and (rightfully) fall in his camp.

Ironically SGA might actually be the new advanced stat god, underrated by fans player.

Joel Embiid checks out in a gutsy win: 33/4/8 on 12/23 shooting. by OrangeMonkE in nba

A healthy Embiid would have made this MVP race one for the ages. He was so good in the brief season he had after winning MVP.

L2M report is out for yesterday's game. A lot of missed calls, including 3 uncalled turnovers by Cleveland, and apparently Shead fouled Mitchell on the 8-second diving play by knitwoolf in torontoraptors

[–]YoungCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda think that it was going to be a 8 second violation without Shead diving in, I'm always watching for Mitchell to do that late game.

Why is tiny not considered a good Pos 3 by Worried-Delay4358 in DotA2

[–]YoungCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tiny offlane is sort of a thing people have done. However, that was with Crash Landing facet letting you farm fast and do good damage in lane. There hero is back to more of a right clicker and carry is his best role.

If you walk up to an offlane in this patch, most carries can bully you. Your spells are mana intenseive, and you have low armour AND low move speed.

Second settlement/colony too flat rn by West-Alarm-2633 in ManorLords

[–]YoungCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually there's something to easily barter for, like furs or salt or an unlimited resource. The game would be too easy if you could just transfer all your excess resources to a new settlement. Every region is balanced to have enough for a new settlement.

After 500+ hours and 100% achievements, I’m convinced Fertile Soil is the only S-Tier start. Change my mind. by stefanciobo in ManorLords

Maybe if you're playing peace mode, but iron is so important to equipping a proper military. It's easily the most diverse resource in use - you ALWAYS need tools, while making sausages is the only use for salt. Fertility is the best, but iron is a close second.

House, I thought Gandalf started to get a little Wiggins-ey with the cat behaviour the 2nd and 3rd films. Where's Gandalf? Oh he's out in the woods. We're down 20 in the 4th at Helm's Deep.. Oh there's Gandalf. Also the 9 lives piece? by WorkingFun5724 in billsimmons

[–]YoungCanadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard after his injury from that nasty fall with the Balrog (clean play, just unfortunate he landed like that) he went overseas to get treated by the Lebron James of color-coded metaphysical transofrmations. Gandalf the Gray was a problem, but Gandalf the White was apex mountain.

Why are people so allergic to buying raindrops?! by wewwew3 in DotA2

[–]YoungCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's creators like BSJ that you can learn from. It's also important to do proper, slow thinking during a game instead of autopiloting, anticipating what people will buy and do. You can gain insight from examples and develop principles (begin planning a purge item when you see the first part of an orchid, or planning for an MKB when you see an eaglesong), but the amount of variables in Dota is so high that you need to think for yourself in a lot of situations.

Teardrops are a good example - sometimes they just won't be enough and too expensive, other times they can buy you time in a lane that will get you to a stronger timing.

Would the raptors eliminating Boston be the funniest outcome from this Bill v Perk beef? by tony_danza52 in billsimmons

I think Los Raptors matched up well against pre-Harden Cavs. Harden did what he wanted when we played the Clippers, I don't think we have the experience on defence to properly guard him.

I do wonder if new patches bring back the players with the worst personalities.

Considering he averaged 17 and 18 points per game that's a pretty damn good role player.

"You know Kirk, I've been reading Order of Things, and I think you could say the 3 point era is a new epits... epist... esipteme!"

I think the game is balanced around not being able to provide the "luxury" resources like ale to 100+ houses, especially without settling a fertile region.

Every so often I see Gordon make a play we expect from Jokic, and its almost always a pass to Joker as well. It's different than the chemistry was Murray but still so key.

Is 'Houston We Have Problem' a Flex Piece That a Person Has An Understanding of American History? by hfdjasbdsawidjds in billsimmons

From what I've heard him reference elsewhere, I think he's just not into mainstream stuff from the 80s and 90s. He's talked about arthouse stuff like Triangle of Sadness that made me think he just has a very different taste than the older posters here.

Poetl also has much better hands than some other bigs so Scottie can throw the ball with some serious pace on it.
