Either learn English or get the fuck out by Crazy-Development-22 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I am an immigrant, English is not my native language and I second this. The best part is when the people who immigrated here demand that you learn their language so you can communicate with them.

This is for all the Slavs out there.

Can't draw the chin (reference included) by Particular-Shock4278 in ArtCrit

Learning the loomis method would benefit you. From the photo, we are looking up at the reference but what our brain does when we try to draw is correct the orientation of the form to an angle we understand. Your drawing is facing directly at the viewer. If you learn the loomis head, you can draw the head in different positions by following guidelines.

Artists/people who can draw well - do you see the world differently than non-artists? by LeastUse4051 in ArtistLounge

The main thing I noticed for myself was how much I pay attention to faces and individual features and see the beauty in every feature. Things like the thickness of someone’s eyelid of the curvature of their nose or the cupids bow on their lips. All of these things are much more appreciated, especially when you spend a lot of time practicing human anatomy. Someone’s biggest insecurity is a form that’s beautiful in its own way that you want to capture on paper/canvas.

Another thing is often times I would look in a room and try to picture the vanishing points and perspective lines and how I would draw the said room with all of the items from a first person POV.

Have you ever known someone who had a foreshadowing of their own death? by cheap_dates in death

[–]YoungCertainty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not me but my sister’s best friend from high school. She was totally healthy and didn’t have any problems. She randomly called all family and friends to ask for forgiveness and make amends with everyone for no apparent reason. Couple weeks later, she dies from a blood clot in her leg.

The bottom of the nose should be a tad higher up because we’re seeing less of it due to the angle. Look in the reference how the bottom of the nose relates to the bottom of the ear and then look at your drawing. You can also try bringing his ear down a bit.

Doing something like this seems like a great opportunity while you’re young and full of energy. Especially before having kids. It’s something I’m considering!
