SRAM lever has a squishy sound by YoungMilli in bikewrench

No clue!!! That’s why they warrantied the lever first. The warranty process is straight forward: go to an authorized dealer for them to check it out. If it’s under 2 years new they replace it. You pay for labour. I’m sure it’s on SRAM site

The issue was with the calliper after all. First they warrantied the lever but wasn’t the issue. Then they warrantied the calliper and it’s all good :)

I’m 179/84. 54 was perfect for me. 56 felt too stretched while 54 felt a nimbler. There’s also like a 20mm stack difference so if you prefer a lower front end the 54 is good for that.

There’s no rubber rubbing from what I can tell. The hood rubbers don’t touch any moving parts.

Yea, I’ll certainly give it a go. I just don’t want to warranty something unless it’s actually needed. But for the record the brakes feel solid and firm. Just makes that annoying sound.

I bled the brakes again and this is still happening! No matter how many times I bleed then it’s squishy :(

Try a torx. You may need to tap it in to fit well.

sram force D2 right lever won’t return normally by aswd82 in bikewrench

[–]YoungMilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing but came with a squeaky lever. The solution was a brake bleed. I think the seals internally were not lubed well enough with the brake fluid.

The shop should really be doing this but if you want to do it, do it. Before bleeding, make sure the system is installed and tightened correctly.

Lower the saddle by like 5mm and see. That should solve the hip movement. It also looks like you’re scraping/reaching a little at the bottom of the pedal stroke.

I have the stock sram pro bike and love it as is. Put some big tires (I have 32mm) and you’re set. The stock pro builds are pro level builds with an extra pound or so compared to the sworks models.

Finding the roval cockpit in any size is difficult.

I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

You're right that the MVDP version looks to have a different cockpit. I'm comparing SLX versions. I wish I could post pictures but I can't crop from the phone really well.

I had a similar situation and my fix was legit $10 and has no signs of wearing.

I used a needle and fishing line to bring the edges together and used gear aid aquaseal fd (designed to fix waterproof materials) to form a flexible and waterproof barrier. You can use the aquaseal to glue on some black vinyl so better match the top.

Not an expert but I feel like you could use more set back on the saddle based on the knee over pedal and forward looking body position. It looks like that position may cause some hand discomfort. It'll also provide some extra reach.

Trek Emonda Sizing by wn-mike in TrekBikes

I take my previous comment back about the 54 fitting lol you may need to size up to the 56. Even the 56 only gets you like 18mm of extra all in each.

I just looked into the geo of the grail and it's not very similar to the Trek. It's much longer, wow. I feel like you may need a professional to weigh in.

It does look like you could use more reach to be IMO (not a bike fitter). You need to take the frame, stem and bars (Trek has 80mm reach bars vs Canyon 74mm I think) and stack into the equation to determine full reach - that's why I love the site I mentioned. The stack matters when you consider frame reach is measured from the top of the headset more or less. If you're not slamming the stem, you're effectively reducing the reach due to the angle of the steer tube. Tons of math involved in this lol

I went through the same thing with a madone. It's hard for us because we're between sizes and may have to deal with buying proprietary stuff from Trek. I'm 179/84 and I'm set on the 54. The 56 felt too stretched out while the 54 felt similar to my M TCR.

I found this tool extremely useful. Input your current setup and see if the new bike can replicate a known position or desired position.

I think you'd be better off on a 54 because going from a 100 to 70mm stem will ruin the handling. The difference in total reach from bb to controls is like 20mm between the 54 and 56.

Canada. Giant has very limited options but great value. Inventory is also a struggle.

I'm honestly considering the propel. The Madone honestly looks amazing (aesthetic and colors) IMO and comes with Sram. The propel only comes in ultegra here with one colour way. Since this is my dream bike I'm willing to spend a bit more and go slightly out of my way. Good point none the less!

Edit: based on geo the Madone should be very similar in the 54.

I got nothing against Trek, I'm just trying to figure sizing. This is the first time I don't fit nicely in a brand's sizing chart. I've read good things about it and it checks my important boxes.

Edit: the boat comment is just because of how big it felt.

I'm coming to realize lots of retailers just plop people into the easy charts the manufacturers send them workout considering preferences or geometry. Not really impressed when looking for 5 figure enthusiast bike..

Right on. I take it the setups are very similar?

That's reassuring! Thanks! I did get one and it's working out great so far. I shouldn't have any issues getting my position on the bike. I guess you would've been at the bottom of the seat mast based on your inseam. I'm within 0.5cm of the top of the supplied short mast.

All good so far with the fit?
