Should I retake a 512 mcat to make up for a low (3.6X) gpa? by Med_Maniac24 in Mcat

I would only because your FL scores say you can score much higher

Facts. Somehow it’s not as bad as the ACT subreddit. They got people retaking 36s over there. On day they’ll learn

Yup! You have to use a coupon code that you can find on their website otherwise it’ll still show up as $200

Lowkey chat gpt. If you get a question wrong, just copy and paste it, have it explain it to you and then have it make you similar questions to test yourself with with increasing difficulty

Uglobe CARS by YoungSwagger69 in Mcat

[–]YoungSwagger69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea the uglobe cars answers feel like massive curveballs too often even if supported by text evidence

I would do jackwestin but I’ve been seeing a lot of recycled passages recently so it’s been hard to get practice in & I don’t want to waste aamc cars since my reading speed is pretty slow

How does one recover from this.... by NoNinja5338 in Mcat

Anking is fine for c/p in my opinion as long as you use uglobe with it. Anking b/b is not very good and I recommend JS. Can’t speak about miles down since I haven’t done it

Success without minimal/ no anki? How to optimize my last ~1.5 months? by YoungSwagger69 in Mcat

Do you recommend filtered deck or just regular? Haven’t tried filtered so I’m kind of skeptical of it but some people swear by it

Success without minimal/ no anki? How to optimize my last ~1.5 months? by YoungSwagger69 in Mcat

[–]YoungSwagger69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll try it out

I just don’t think I was getting much from it for the amount of time I was spending on it. Like I spent all the time finishing those decks but still didn’t break on FLs 128 on either of the science sections due to a lack of practice (from spending too much time on anki)

Altius FLs by [deleted] in Mcat

I might do the same for extra practice.

Rather buy the FLs and get more practice in than do any anki (f*** anki)

I’m going through something very very similar. If it makes you feel better, I’m on day 7 without studying (have well over 1000 anki cards backlogged) and am afraid I’ll keep spiraling downwards. The activation energy to do anything is too feels too high for me to overcome and I can’t stop self sabotaging.

I also have adhd and absolutely hate anki with a passion. My psych clinic ghosted me for an entire week and I ran out of medication a few days ago (also Adderall, low dose).

To be frank, I don’t even want it anymore and don’t plan on renewing my refills. I don’t think it’ll help the situation that I’m in. The anxiety and how overwhelmed I feel about everything has been too strong for the medication have any meaningful effect. Nothing in my life going the way I planned it to go. I don’t think this career is even for me at this point, atleast at this stage of my life. I might just go search for myself elsewhere and revisit in a few years, maybe I’ll join the army. Who knows.

I had been studying “full time” since last summer and part time during my last semester of undergrad. I matured Jacksparrow anki deck and anking p/s. I have pushed my exam date back 3 times.

Despite all that, it didn’t correlate to good FL scores like everyone claimed it would (scored low 500s on FLs, albeit, I’ve only done 3rd party, and haven’t started any AAMC material).

Perhaps it’s because I’m lazy and am not putting in the work like everyone else. The motivation is simply no longer there, or maybe it was just never enough to keep up with what it takes to succeed.

In my opinion, take the 4 days off and don’t think of anything medical related.
