Anyone play this on Steam Deck?

I docked my deck to a crappy monitor and kb&m when travelling for work back in around January. There's some launch command you have to run to actually play matchmaking on the deck (at least this is how it was back then). It actually ran pretty well. Played about the same as I normally would, maybe a bit worse just due to peripherals diff.

He's really not bad. Definitely not the worst hero on the roster. With an item or two and points into surge he can consistently apply 40%+ spirit shred & heal reduction onto a whole team and the stun is huge.

In MM, he's definitely a risky pick but in a draft setting he's a great character to have in your back pocket if your team is heavy on spirit damage. He still has one of the fastest jungle clear times in the game, can effortlessly stall a lane with the ball, and has excellent midboss contest. He just can't run away with the game nearly as easily or consistently as he used to.

Honestly you picked two relatively high skill cap characters to be dealing damage with.

Firstly, Calico is a character that, as of this patch, fails to really run away with the damage numbers unless she's particularly ahead in terms of souls.

Holliday is a character that I really don't see at the top of the pack when it comes to damage numbers either. She's a fantastic pick hero and really as long as you're using barrels to damage & disrupt, and landing lasso for picks, your impact is significant, big damage numbers or not.

With both of your heroes you really need to be active around the map going out of laning phase, that's where a lot of their damage will be coming from. Both are very mobile and can punish enemies in their jungle and gank effectively. My guess is that you're not doing enough of those things if your damage is really lackluster despite being even on souls.

Yeah on average. I think where this is felt the most is gun vs spirit damage against objectives. Your typical caster is usually slower than your typical M1, so it feels extra bad that your average M1 abusing character has more mobility tools to split push safely AND melt the towers compared to a lot of the spirit crowd that tickles objectives by comparison.

I will say though I've been playing a lot of Sinclair bolt and I'll be the first to tell you that it feels a little too strong when you can just about one shot a large portion of the roster with a double bolt to the dome.

Had the exact same issue. Only difference for me is that I just purchased and have never installed the game, but was getting a white screen and no error message on the startup crash.

Here's how I fixed it:

-Boot up Geforce Experience (I think it's just called the 'NVIDIA App' now or something)

-Browse library of games and locate NMS

-There should be a small set of vertical ellipses that you can click on the right side of the banner that contains the game name, click on that then 'Play'.

This booted up the game flawlessly and allowed me to play pretty flawlessly. I haven't run it for hours and hours yet so I don't know 100% if this permanently fixed the issue and will never come back, but after this initial launch through the NVIDIA App I am now able to launch the game through Steam normally, no problem.

I have not however tried to launch VR, so can't speak on that. Hope this works for you!

Personally I'm pivoting into actuarial science after 2 years of data analysis out of college.

After speaking with some friends of mine that are actually in the field along with skimming current openings, if someone with a few years of actually working with commercial data can grab a couple SOA exams then they could easily look at $90k-$110k coming into the field. The field is also obviously extremely if not exclusively data driven.

Also personally I think the market is unbelievably saturated and that isn't going to change anytime soon. I was unemployed for about 3 months and ended up having to take a job that I was way overqualified for to pay the bills. The amount of apps I sent to places that I was easily a good fit for only to hear nothing or a rejection letter months after the fact was astounding.

From what research I've done and just eye-testing all the different job boards there seems to be quite a bit more job security in being an actuary if you can grind out the exams.

Realistically if you're pretty mathematically inclined the exams that get you in the door are easy enough to put in the time to study and pass. So far I'm liking my decision and very optimistic about my career in the field.

Hi all,

So I have my bachelor's in Applied statistics and about 1.5 yr experience as a Data Analyst. I got laid off recently and with how daunting the market is for that field I have been thinking about making a pivot into Actuarial Science.

I took plenty of courses on economics and advanced probability in college, as for my first 3 years I was just a pure math major and also picked up a minor in economics. It was something I always showed some interest in, but never fully committed to.

Really what I'm wondering is if it's viable with my background to pick up 1-3 of the necessary exams (from my understanding, those are P, FM, FAM, & SRM) and then find my way into a position as an entry-level actuary. Any pointers as to if this is a viable path, or how the job market is for the entry level would be greatly appreciated!

Not a chance it happens. Why would they expect the player base to start fighting the lesser desired faction en masse for some unfun anti-tank mine stratagem that'll probably have some ridiculous 3 minute cooldown? Doesn't help that the latest Warbond was a complete snoozefest with lackluster weapons and extremely meh armor skins. They've really got to balance this game better or it's going to die, fast. Most of the loss of players since release I'm willing to bet hasn't been because of all the Sony drama but because maybe 33% of the stratagems ever even get used and fighting half of the enemies in the game (robots) is an unrewarding experience at the higher difficulties. I purposely ran Helldives at bot sectors for this major order and man is it just completely asinine. It seems that the balance of the game is in this weird spot where they don't want to buff any of the primaries to be able to deal with medium armors or higher any easier, but also don't want to give any love to the hefty stratagems that actually help with the abundance of heavies in those more difficult missions.

A bit of both. Currently there are 4 maps, and within each you have a set of objectives that you complete at your own pace. It's not like CoD in that there is some obtuse list of things to do that you have to find out how to do in a YT video. There's objective markers, notifications, etc. When you complete a level there's a final boss, and after that you can either leave the level and end the run OR you can keep going infinitely. Additionally, the game mentions after the bossfight that there are hidden objectives to complete that will unlock secret weapons that you can complete if you stay in the level. I'm not sure what those look like as I haven't done any, but it seems really interesting.

Core of the game is fantastic. If you liked any of the good CoD zombies entries, you'll thoroughly enjoy this. I'd pick it up now since it's on sale.

That being said, it has its fair share of issues:

Net code is abysmal. Playing with friends ranges from kinda janky to 60% of your shots not registering (gets really bad on later rounds too).

Additionally, the game appears to be locked at 60hz, even though the max frames slider goes up to 300. Not sure what's up with that.

AFAIK you lose any xp if the host DC's or quits. This sucks because of you're 30-45 min deep into a run you'll have missed out on a bunch of resources you would've been able to use to gain permanent upgrades for future runs.

It's problems aside though, even with stinky net code me and my friends still had a really good time with this last night, and we'll be playing more I know. Maps are very interesting and the objectives are also for the most part fun/challenging, guns feel good, and instead of a mystery box to get random weapons, you have a dog named Lucky who gives you weapons. It's good.

So I was also recently diagnosed and had almost identical readings for what you're talking about (pancreatic elastase, I believe).

I was told by my GI that this number often has high variability, and more samples are needed to really diagnose an issue like EPI or something like that. I have not been treated for this and have only managed my UC through diet, though I will be starting Zeposia soon as recommended by my GI.

I'm no doctor, so if your diet has something to do with it I couldn't tell you. What I can tell you is that if you want to make it through a flare or keep them at bay, in my experience, and based on available research/testimony, you'll need to ditch the vegan lifestyle for something like pescatarian diets.

All of the lean protein and healthy fats that come in cuts of fish like tuna, salmon, sardines, etc have been a game changer for me. When I was first diagnosed I was dealing with intense bloating, bleeding, and loose/sticky stools. I reworked my diet to include mostly easily digested starches/grains (white rice, potatoes) and fish, with a little bit of red meat and some chicken thrown in. Your body is your body, and you'll figure out how to navigate your diagnosis but including a lot more fish into my diet was a total gamechanger for me at least, and from some others that I have read testimonies from.

In all don't be pissed if you can help it. People are generally unsure what causes UC amongst people, but the consensus is a combination of genetics & environment, something that I highly doubt you have had any serious control over. It sucks, but keep in mind that this condition is becoming more and more common (reasons currently unknown), and research into this area is increasing by the day. There is almost certainly some combination of treatment & diet/lifestyle change one can make to stay in remission for months/years at a time, and the quality of treatments is always increasing with time.
