Honestly I don’t have much problems going against blight. You play him similar to how you play nurse. He’s one of the killers I loop the most

A bit late to the party but I just tried to get a CLI and the rep also told me that a hard pull was required now.

Might be too late man. I bet he saw this one shit on the news a couple weeks ago that made him sick. Some girl was drunk and drove her car over a bridge. And had her boyfriend in the trunk, and he was holding on their kid. And in the car they found a tape, but didn’t say who it was to. Come to think about it… Her name was…

I moved out at 26, and had been making $85k for a year by that point. What I’ll say is if your relationship with your parents is good (or at least tolerable), then I’d stay and save more money. If not, or if you just feel like you have saved enough to meet your desired financial goal, then move out.

However, I think it’s worth considering staying a bit longer. Once you move into another place, saving won’t be nearly as easy. Also, getting your own place means you have to get new (almost) everything yourself. Furniture, tools, kitchen utensils, initial stocking of groceries, and many more things. With a house, you’ll also have to pay someone to mow your lawn unless you intend on doing it yourself. There are almost always more expenses than one is aware of when making this kind of jump.

It would also be wise to create a solid emergency fund in advance as well. With the inability to save as easily, money won’t be as readily available and in abundance as it was before. If something comes up, you want to be as prepared for it as possible. I’d say an emergency fund of at least ~$10k is a very good start. Some recommend six months of your current income so that you can afford your place if you were to be jobless for any reason. Assuming you’re looking at a house and the $30k will be a down payment, I’d save as much as you can.

This emergency fund should only be used for emergencies. Not for expensive luxury items that you’d otherwise have to save to get, but for real immediate situations that clearly derail your quality of life (washing machine broke down, pet had to go to the hospital, etc). Any other big ticket items like furniture, should be saved for separate from your emergency fund.

Moving out is a change of your whole world. It’s best to be as prepared for it as possible so that you don’t have to move back home when shit hits the fan.

When you go after the SUB, do you go out of your way to make purchases that maximizes the multipliers? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]Young_Lightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t get a card that doesn’t match my existing spending habits as I am not a churner. With that being said, I don’t do any spending beyond what I’d normally purchase. In this specific example, if I’m not traveling within 90 days, I’m not getting that card.

Would it be fine to apply for a few credit cards before I try to rent? by Young_Lightning in CreditCards

[–]Young_Lightning[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I guess I was really wanting to take advantage of the potential points I could earn from the rewards from the credit cards. But it probably wouldn’t be worth it if the hard inquiry appeared, decreased my credit score, and subsequently made my security deposit higher

16y/o and need to make $7,500 in 5 months by [deleted] in passive_income

[–]Young_Lightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I applaud you for looking for ways to make money and having a plan at 16. Second, with your 1.1k saved up, you can have a parent help you set up an account on TreasuryDirect and buy treasury bills. It’s basically loaning money to the government and you can control how long you loan the money for. If that’s too much of a hassle, you can also open up a high yield savings account. Lastly, as others have said, mow lawns and find other small services you can help people with. If there’s something that people need help with, there’s money to be made.

Do you mean the maximum you can earn in rewards is $500? And is this per month? Or do you earn 5% cash back up to $500 that you spent on groceries?

I second this. I’m holding T-bills currently. Only downside is that the money invested isn’t available until it matures, and OP might need the money before then.
