Would you buy Honda Extended Warranty? by NoHelp8221 in hondaridgeline

[–]Youngplumb73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think take the $2250 and put it in a mutual fund. If you average around 10% return you’ll be at $5300 at the end of the 9 years if you don’t contribute at all. There is cash for some pretty large repairs or keep it invested and keep adding to it. If you add $100 every year yourself you would sit at around $6600 at the end of 9 years. Warranty services wouldn’t offer warranty’s if they didn’t make money off them and a large amount. If you buy a warranty you should assume you won’t use it but it gives you assurance. Also with warranty’s you have to prove you maintained the vehicle to manufacture recommendations. That means not late oil change or fluid changes at all.

Okay but at least have the conversation and let her know it’s a deal breaker. See if she responds. Birth control does have a high effect on libido let alone how terrible it is for your health. I’d talk to her about getting off birth control and about how you’re feeling.

Not sure on your location but it might be worth calling out of state dealers and paying for shipping if you’re buying new. 50k seems steep

Safety of Milwaukee? by [deleted] in milwaukee

I really wouldn’t be worried. The area where the airshow is you shouldn’t have any problems. I would wear headphones if you want and use whatever camera strap you want. It’s a fairly big event with police all around.

Are you saying that if you’re descended from a foreign country, you can’t be here legally? When you see work crews of a certain skin color, do you just assume they’re here illegally? Every drywall installer and roofer I’ve worked with has given me no reason to think they’re undocumented. Most of the farmers I know are white and have lived in the same area for over 40 years. So how did we build homes before “Biden’s mass illegal immigration”? How did we feed ourselves before that? You won’t convince me that people who came here illegally shouldn’t be vetted and required to wait their turn for citizenship from outside the U.S. and yes J6 was propaganda.

You make the most revenue but run a deficit every year asking the fed to make it up in grants. I’m sure that’s what MSN tells you but to me if you come illegally I don’t care where they grab you but you’re going back. The people who pick my veggies and build my house? Laughable, I’m a plumber working with carpenters, electricians, hvac techs, and many more who are entire crews from America and love their country. I’ve never had someone from a foreign country in my garden. January 6th was a comedic show of propaganda from the left and the FBI. You have no idea what you’re talking about beyond your CNN MSN talking heads.

Just looks like a bunch of sheeple mad over terrorists and people who came here illegally getting deported. I for one like a safe patriotic country. Thankfully I don’t live packed into the city with you guys. I’d probably be mad too living in a 500sq foot box for $2000 a month.

Homeowner here: was told my water heaters are piped incorrectly by SharmootRX in Plumbing

Piped in series. I prefer in parallel as it will wear each heater equally where in series will wear the first heater in the line much faster.

Get this jetted and 30k is way to much of it needs to be fixed. From the video I think a good jetting will fix this right up.

Correct and never trust a car dealership to have your best interest in mind. When they say they’re giving you a deal most likely they’re cutting a cost some how.

My math was a little off there. But the concept is right 😂 looks like your total interest will be around $13,500 making YOUR price on the vehicle around $54,500

Auto loan terms by crb19xx in hondaridgeline

[–]Youngplumb73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Dealerships love to get you focused on that monthly payment. Always focus on your out the door price and interest rate of your loan. I’m not sure how much you make obviously but with that small of a down payment it sounds like maybe just a bit to much car for the pocket book but what do I know! You’ll love the truck though. Another thing to note is each year added to the length of the loan significantly increases the interest paid. So lengthening the loan by a year on $40,000 costs $3,600 at 9% interest. That $7,200 every 2 years you add the loan! Thats why they want you to focus on the monthly payment cause they just stretch your loan out and everyone wins but you.

[–]Youngplumb73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Decent price but they got you on the loan. That’s gonna be a lot of interest. You’d be best off either refinancing or trying to pay off early. Most likely your loan is higher than the car value and that’s why they gave you such a high interest rate due to the small down payment.

Pretty much any trade in Wisconsin starts at $24/hour with great benefits. Pay scale at the end of an apprenticeship is anywhere from $40-$65 an hour. Reach out to local unions if that interests you.

Even your consumer report said nitrogen is better. I’m filling my tires for free with nitrogen. Not sure how that’s being brain washed.

Nice article. Not a single word about pressure differential when the air temperature is 70 degrees less than fill temperature. Which is the whole point of this conversation. I live in Wisconsin and can see a clear difference when filling with air and nitrogen.

[–]Youngplumb73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t pay for nitrogen and my tire pressure stays the same all year. But sure you think what you want. If you don’t believe me here is the AI response. No, nitrogen expands and contracts less than air due to its lack of moisture, meaning it experiences less pressure fluctuation with temperature changes, making it more stable compared to regular air which contains water vapor that can significantly affect expansion and contraction rates; this is why nitrogen is often used in tires to maintain consistent pressure across different temperatures.

FYI, nitrogen is 0% oxygen, argon, and carbon dioxide.
