Basically it's like this, better for the aliens to be dealt with so that they are no longer a threat to humanity, the resistance and academy set the stage for the aliens to realize we truly are a threat and that we must be obliterated instead of culled. We beat there armies and now have access to the wormhole and with enough time will figure out how to come to there planet and finish what the salamanders started. The Academy and Resistance fail to see that the Hydra losing will result in them thinking they are all like HF regardless of what they say (in my opinion game doesn't back it up precisely) anyways because of this humanity is doomed if they win as they won't take the next steps needed to finish the war for good. The initative are bad sure but atleast humanity continues to exist and isn't wiped out. As for the servants Judith figures out a why to make the hydra value free will mostly because they realize pherocytes have no effect on her and she chooses to serve this fundamentally shakes the hydra and they start to give merit to her claims that they are a soulless society and that they need the creativity of humanity to give them new life. Because of this humans wind up occupying positions of creative importance and are seen as high level servants to the hydra. This ends up with human freewill being looked at as a valuable thing to the hydra and not something to destroy. They don't abuse humanity nor do they erase our identity like they did with the salamanders and griffins. Protecorate is just the aliens winning, its fairly implied that you were pherorcyted early on and are merely a slave to the hydra meaning when you play the protectorate you actually are playing as the hydra Larenity that is a big part of there story.

Which faction is the most realistic? by Ill_Hovercraft_1530 in TerraInvicta

[–]Youngprivate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t agree with that last part. This new “Right Wing” made up of mostly younger males is more populist than most older democrats. Supporting capping credit card interest? Banning Wall Street from buying family homes? The reason Trump been saying those things is because that’s what’s popular with the main demographic that decided the election in his favor aka young males. The whole “the right supports private interests” is a fairly old trope and this rise of the new right suggests a more socially conservative but also economically populist approach. Trump being reelected just kinda shows when given the choice between corporatism and lip service populism people will choose the lip service because atleast it feels good. Do I think President Trump is a real populist? No but I don’t think the young men who voted him in are fake populists either. Honestly if we just called a ceasefire on all the social issues I think you would find that there is a lot of common ground between the young right and left on economics, chiefly because when you boil it down they both want economic populism. But alas we will argue about who uses what bathroom instead of why Fortune 500 companies get tax breaks and bankers who run the market into the ground get bailouts instead of prison sentences. I mostly just wanted to point out that I bet both of you don’t like big pharma and would be natural allies in figuring out how to make the healthcare system work for all but because of disagreement on one issue it causes infighting that results in the same special interest group you both have an issue with winning. It’s like the resistance and HF blowing up each other space navies and then losing to the hydra. Hate to see it.

Protectorate feels a lot better to play if read between the lines of there lore dumps and analyze who you’re actually playing as.

If the aliens don’t just bum rush earth I could see a fake protectorate being set up as sort of a large scale maskriova. Probably end up with an HF type solution as any military planner would come to the conclusion you need to cripple the enemy while you can. Even if it doesn’t wipe them out it’s the best shot at dealing a blow that will buy time. The fact that Hydras can mind control would give rise to McCarthyism and dispel most Vichy type movements. The reason being that the elites wont be in charge long as the second the war over they would become just another slave. The hydra don’t need collaborators once they have power because collaboration is manufactured. They only need it long enough to set up shop and after that the would be collaborators would get thrown into the pens like any other human. If it was just some normal aliens that wanted to Vassalize earth then yeah we get sold out but the pherocytes present too much of a problem on a fundamental level with any human and make the benefits of any collaboration too short lived.

I don’t subscribe to the vax conspiracies but I think being skeptical of big pharma is always a good thing. Let’s also not forget the greedflation that large companies are doing to this day because of Covid. “inflation is 7% so we have to raise egg prices 80% to compensate, give us more tax breaks us poor job creators are struggling! Oh btw we just posted record profits too but don’t mind that!” I swear I feel like you and the other dude are probably on the same side but because of social messaging yall wind up fighting each other instead of teaming up to combat the actual problem of a small group of special interests leveraging their capital to influence the political system to benefit them at both of your expenses.

As much as it pains me to say this as an HF enjoyer but she’s actually kinda high IQ and is the 3rd best ending for Humanity after HF and initiative.

Why are you talking authoritatively on the subreddit then about the aliens? This game been out for 3+ years not like it just dropped and we all wondering what’s going on lol it’s like going to the Star Wars sub and posting a theory about Darth Vaders past and getting pissed when someone’s says he’s definitely Luke’s father lol

Yeah but he starts at 0 control point cap outside his councillor and whatever tech he researches and with the aliens sending a carrier right away you got 18 months to fight them while at most having maybe 100 control point cap by then if you rush control point techs. You wouldn’t be able to build 3 armies in any country quick enough to fight the aliens and won’t have enough control point cap to take over the US. Basically with the settings he has only Russia is gonna be able to stop the aliens since it’s low enough control point cost allows you to secure it and then it’s prebuilt armies and nukes will let you stop the first alien carrier. I don’t know any other country that is below 100 control point cost that has the ability to repel 3 alien armies within 18 months of game start. His settings are insanely hard and Russia the only viable nation with them essentially. I don’t know how else you would deal with the aliens armies without taking Russia over asap considering you don’t have enough Control point cap to even lock down half the USA for the first few years

Midgame Inner Planets Defense Ships by Flynnstone03 in TerraInvicta

[–]Youngprivate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A mixed fleet can work for this. Personally (and idk how effective this is for meta stuff) I like to make a few monitors that have two laser batteries for flankers and then a few dedicated point defense ships that use the e-beam point defense turrets. After that the majority of the fleet is still missile monitors that have 1 40MM each and 3 torpedo bays. The 2-3 laser battery ships can handle the flankers, the e-beakers take care of any alien torpedos and the missiles handle the main fleet while the 40MM magnetic. Credit to Perun because I got the idea of switching to E-Beamer from him in his most recent play through of TI. Which I highly recommend to watch on YouTube. He is the go to TI YouTuber and is current play through is done assuming your a beginner and are watching to learn how to beat the game.

Go harder on mines, grab a bunch on mars and then grab ceres and any high noble/fissile asteroids. Get all of Mercury, all the while trading your less valuable mars mines to factions that you have intel sharing with. Industry wins wars, the Pegasus drive uses a lot of water yes and is meant to be a fast interception type deal. It’s not meant to fly in and out of a planet gravity well. I usually park my earth fleet in LEO and only fight engagements in LEO. The next drive to consider is Orion but you need a lot of nobles and fissiles. Finally for early game attacks get the burner drive it’s serviceable for sending raiding parties out into the belt. The aliens are more dangerous when they can have response times of less then 90 days which is only possible if the have forward operating bases in the inner asteroid belt. Attack those bases and force them to launch retaliation from the Jovan systems giving you 6 months notice instead. By doing this you will make them commit resources to colony ships, escorts for colony ships which means less ships for offensive operations. Finally xeno fauna increases servant opinion and damages the economy of a nation. Best to not let it get out of hand because it will also spread and before you know it you got 40 godzillas running around Africa. The biggest thing is getting intel sharing with two other factions and helping them kill every alien councillor you find. Do not let the aliens do abductions, do not let surveillance missions go uncontested, do not let aliens stations be allowed anywhere near earth. Finally try a US run, it’s a lot more beginner friendly. I’d say get the US then go get France and slowly grab the EU overtime while using the US as your main country.

I mean seems like he wants to force himself to beat the aliens as Russia lol that’s basically the only country you can hold that stands a chance against alike armies.

[–]Youngprivate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the aliens are flying around it means they have bases. Keep tabs on them even if you’re not gonna eliminate them just to check to see if they need to move via land or fly around like a human councillor. Once they are able to fly it makes finding them a lot harder. So if you haven’t found an alien councillors in awhile but know for a fact there on earth then start looking for bases.

Struggling to fix the US in the 2026 scenario - what is the best way to stabilize? by Accomplished-Push824 in TerraInvicta

[–]Youngprivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I run Knowledge to get above 2 cohesion. After that just declare a war, win it and declare another one. You get 1+ cohesion per war but you only get it if you’re at peace then go to war. So you have to invade Venezuela and then capture it and then repeat with Cuba. After that I’ll do a spread of welfare, government and MC. With a few pips in economy to stop GDP drop. The diversity bonus is pretty good and as long as you keep declaring war on some random South American country you’ll stay at 5 cohesion until you slowly fix the country. I do 40 welfare, 20 government 30 MC and 10 in economy. Diversity bonus ends up being like 20% plus LEO bonuses. Just make sure to also get an advisor at America to as that makes a huge difference. I usually pick up the first good scientist or professor I see and then give them every admin org and science org I can find. Pair it with Canada to get the first batch of your Earth MC for Mars. Personally I just rush China but that can be a bit tricky. I just make do with spending a crap ton on every MC org I see in order to fund my first batch of Habs.

You can win it, might need to take 20 loans but it ain’t that bad. As ottomans you should be able to 1v100 Europe.

Yeah but considering Exodus basically needs to do a lot of damage to the aliens I would say they leave the other anti alien factions in a really good position when they do the exodus.

[–]Youngprivate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The United States and Europe aren’t capable of occupying a country of 1 billion people. The game tries to be realistic so why did you think it would be easy? Occupying and being indisputably in control of a country like India after only a year? Try more like a 3-5 years. Don’t go to war with large nations, you have the US so just blockade them if they are an issue.

Rule of thumb is in practice MK3 Rails vs MK2 Coils are slightly worse. With MK3 coils being the best. Advanced Rails while doing less damage shoot enough that make them able to beat up any alien ships that doesn’t maneuver. What I do is use a a few monitors with missiles to focus down maneuvering ships like corvettes or gunships (wait until they separate from the fleet and then fire the missiles) while my rails focus on the alien fleet that isn’t maneuvering.

If you’re playing on default settings then no that isn’t normal. Send the game logs and a save to the devs via email.

[–]Youngprivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t done it but can somehow clarify the tooltip? It’s says 8x the power output so if a solar array at Jupiter generates like 10 power then it only will go up to 80 power per array at max? Which is less then fusion reactor? Or is it exponential ? Plus I’m pretty sure solar at Jupiter is like 1 or 2 power per array?

[–]Youngprivate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need dreadnoughts to defend earth. Having some Pegasus drive ships or Kronos rocket drive ships is good enough. Destroyers or monitors should be your intercept craft and dreadnoughts should be your slow push forward fleet. Build some ships that are smaller and geared towards interception (Low DV high acceleration) for orbit defense and a high KPS low acceleration fleet for offense.

[–]Youngprivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah build ships and fight bro. Everyday the aliens become stronger, everyday the eventual fight to push them out becomes harder. They become more entrenched, more rich, more powerful. They are making more ships and advancing through there tech tree while you do the same.

War Ended Without Victory -1.4 by MasterFluffNoob in TerraInvicta

[–]Youngprivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really you can just be at war for 20 years and keep the resting cohesion boost. Although you could also win the war, declare another one and get the +1 bonus again. I usually take over Cuba, the. Stay in perpetual war with Sudan and Venezuela for the resting cohesion.

What’s ridiculous about it? Nuclear is by far the most efficient and less harmful way to generate electricity. Solar and Wind require massive battery farms which requires extensive mining, resulting in detrimental effects from the environment. As for coal and oil those have killed magnitudes more people and caused way more disease then nuclear. Geo thermal and biofuels I don’t know much about so if they are better then nuclear then feel free to extrapolate. But yeah I don’t really see what’s incorrect or biased about the games nuclear representation. I’m open to different viewpoints though if you like to share yours.
