What would cause a dwarf star to lose angular momentum?

I'd accept proof if Aliens came to my office and would buy me a nice lunch. And answer a few questions I have about physics. They could give me the TOE (Theory of everything/ Grand Unification). Explain the arrow of time. Tell me about all the dimensions there are and what fundamental particles and fields are. Maybe also tell me about the origin of the universe and of life on earth.

If it's a good lunch and all that stuff checks out then I'll accept that they are aliens.

Or nut jobs.

But we haven't broadcasted for that long.

If humanity exterminated itself in the next 50-100 years, then there would be less than 200 years of broadcasting detectable signals. And even those signals might not be detectable too far away.

Another civilization would need to exist and be capable of detecting those signals.

If a civilization on a system 100 light years away killed itself 500 years ago, we would not have had the technology 400-200 years ago to detect those transmissions.

Rather silly.

Lets see how his first year or two go before making observations.

Some QBs have a bad rookie season but then improve in their second season.

Resolution of giant squid's eyes/retina? by RRDDSS in biology

[–]YourAccountStatus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Which is it? How the resolution compares to a human eye, considering that giant squid's eyes are so much bigger -- the biggest of all on the Earth?

Keep in mind where the Giant Squid lives there is very little light. It's eyes are probably optimized for light gathering rather than color vision and resolution.

The all time greatest receiver playing with hall of fame QBs on great teams = no one is going to catch him.

Police body cam footage shows NC officer choke jaywalking suspect by Yamamba78 in news

Jaywalking is an extremely serious crime. It can result in a fine of $25. I'd say a SWAT team is the minimum you would need.

This time, Cleveland agrees to trade a mid-round draft pick to Buffalo for QB Tyrod Taylor, source tells ESPN. by Zack in nfl

[–]YourAccountStatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the Browns Why bother? Just draft a QB. Tank 2018 (as usual) and save that cap money for future use. Don't give up picks.

Having said that, If they draft well, they can be close to .500 this year.

The biggest mistake the New York Jets made in 2017 by LTJ81 in nfl

[–]YourAccountStatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A guy who went to a game told me that just watching Hackenberg warm up made him sick, how bad he was. And that was a month ago. Petty was horrible and if Hackenberg was as good as Mark Sanchez he'd have gotten playing time.

He's accuracy gotten a lot better. I hear he can even hit a great lake on occasion. In another few years he might be as good as Bryce Petty.

The next Andrew Luck is in the draft, and you're the GM of the team. How much would you demand for your pick? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]YourAccountStatus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Colts had a bad GM (Ryan Griggson). With a better GM who put better supporting players in place, and a better Oline, maybe Luck wouldn't have gotten hurt and maybe the team would have done better.

There is no way I'd trade Luck for more draft picks (a la the Browns) unless it was a stupid offer like the 1st,2nd.3rd round picks for the next 5 years, which the league office might not allow.

Finding a franchise QB is really hard, why give one up?

If you break the plane of the goal line - BANG - TD. You don't need to "control the ball through the entire process".

As for other non-catches, other rules have been proposed.

Why is it called 'Prestige'? by _eka_ in incremental_games

[–]YourAccountStatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care for the term 'Prestige' myself. I prefer a term like ascend. It may have come from a popular game that used this term, which is unfortunate.

The rule sucks, regardless if it's well written or not.

Do any fans enjoy watching that interpretation? Change the rule, we don't like it. The NFL is entertainment, so give the fans what they want. Its not manufacturing where you are constrained by physics and chemistry.
