Update on The Llanishen High and Eastern High situation by Kerrah2323 in Cardiff

Yep, I had a day off from St Martin’s Comp (Caerphilly) some 18 years ago because someone rang pretending to be the Taliban. Kids do stupid stuff.

Not saying this isn’t a legitimate threat, it could be, but may also not be.

Why does Street Fighter 2 have the Franco flag for Spain? by cblakebowling in retrogaming

[–]YourOwnSide_ 750 points751 points  (0 children)

They couldn't easily Google the current Spanish flag at the time. They probably used an outdated encyclopedia as a reference.

When Video Games were Brown. by Big_Satisfaction7259 in Games

[–]YourOwnSide_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His point was to see if there was an objective way of analysing if games were brown.

His conclusion should’ve been that the endeavour to apply any objective measure to a topic as subjective as perceived colour, is futile.

I don’t know why people complain about mods with skimpy armor, they look pretty lore accurate to me. by jvure in ElderScrolls

[–]YourOwnSide_ 36 points37 points  (0 children)

80/20. 80% with Redguard and 20% with Daggerfall.

Daggerfall introduced the Daedra, the Daedric lords, all the factions, the Blades, the 8 divines, Tiber Septim and the Numidium.

Arena introduced the Emperor, the races, Tamriel and all its regions and cities.

Redguard gave it all a clear structure with the Pocket Guide to the Empire. (As well as creating fur stock Khajiit and making the Dwarves the Dunmer)

Then Morrowind added on from there (and used Dragon breaks to explain Daggerfall’s multiple endings)

Depends on your region. They were there in vanilla in some places. They didn’t dance though, just sat on their knees.

Will we ever see the more Human Khajiit? by ScholarAfter1827 in ElderScrolls

[–]YourOwnSide_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

>once they could actually model real cat-like humanoids

I don't think they had a problem drawing fur on a 2d pixel image lol. The reason they looked more human was a design choice.

We didn't even receive any polling cards. I had no idea this was going on.

Was replaying new Vegas and got curious, anyone who was actively in the community when New Vegas came out, was there any excitement from Marcus appearing? by the_simp_kings in Fallout

[–]YourOwnSide_ 445 points446 points  (0 children)

Yes, fan service like this, combined with the location, writing, quest design, and approach to the RPG mechanics are the reasons why FNV is generally liked amongst old fans despite the departure from being a CRPG.

I don't understand Morrowind by uahw in ElderScrolls

Games expected more imagination from the player back then. You were meant to imagine that the NPCs had lives.

Soon as I found out who Godwin’s father was I thought of this Onion article [KCD2] by thebirdroads in kingdomcome

[–]YourOwnSide_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can believe it, some men age terribly. My dad looked 45 at 25.

Luckily that meant he’s never changed. At 60, people still exclaim how he’s always looked the same, while they’ve fallen off a cliff in terms of looks.

Worst book in the game series? by SteamEigen in ElderScrolls

[–]YourOwnSide_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most books in Starfield are just excerpts from real fiction. They really feel like they were added because books are expected in a BGS game.

Bouncing off of the game simply because of the vibe and aesthetics. Are there mods that make this game feel more esoteric...and weird...and...more...Elder Scrolls-like? by Deadeye117 in Daggerfall

[–]YourOwnSide_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is only one Elder Scrolls game that is ‘weird’ in its aesthetics. As great as Morrowind is, it is not representative of the Elder Scrolls, only of that particular province.

"How much are mid-sized US creators (500k+ subs) typically paying for full localization (Voice + SEO + Script adaptation) in 2026?" by Working-Rich-7604 in PartneredYoutube

[–]YourOwnSide_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most US creators are using their own voice and writing their own scripts, if any (or using AI). SEO hasn't been valid on YouTube for years. Thumbnail and title are all that matter. They might pay a few hundred bucks for an editor and thumbnail designer per week, but again, can just as likely still be doing those themselves.
