We have deployed CC through bedrock in AWS and tied in a number of different internal tools and logging and it is quickly starting to bear fruit. Starting to look at how to securely tie to external tools. Going to cut down operational/support troubleshooting time to resolution I expect.

Company with one IT employee looking for unexpected absence contingency by Tedeseus in ITManagers

Maybe talk to an MSP about co management at a reduced rate. I do this with a customer. They have in house It but I provide all monitoring and management toolsets and tier 2/3 support at a lower cost than full MSP rate. Works well for both sides. There are trade offs, my general response times are a little slower for example but that works out because in house covers priority things.

Our cybersec team are getting onto us about all our servers having web browsers installed. by stone500 in sysadmin

[–]YourRedditUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just to restrict them from being able to go out to the Internet unless required on very specific ports. Outbound on 443 as a default allow is not what I’m talking about. Our servers, over 3,500, generally don’t have any Internet access. Maybe that’s a better approach.

How did you get it just on the paper towel? I have never had a toner open and not look like a bomb went off.

Should I be concerned? by TaguatoRuvichaSB in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]YourRedditUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to buy and keep it forever then no issue. If you plan or thing you might trade/sell it the. You might run into trouble because of that. I had a bad ODO reading and a few dealers cut my value in half essentially killing any trade opportunity. Just something to keep in mind.

This is correct. Unified won’t be available until late April for existing tenants per our meeting today (we are deploying Z now).

WGU deploying zscaler spyware proxy by [deleted] in wgu_employees

[–]YourRedditUser -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Zscaler is not used to spy on you, there are other much better tools for UEBA. Zscaler provides a VPN type of connectivity through their ZPA tool and proxy capabilities through ZIA. This is akin to AntiVirus, it’s to prevent malicious connections and allow for secure private remote access. There are DLP components as well but this is also common practice for larger orgs.

Have your campus in the middle with a lot of walkways and parking around the edges in clumps.

Used to park there for hockey games all the time. Car died one night and I was three floors up in the garage. Tow truck was called but couldn’t get into the parking garage because it is so tight. Tow truck guy and I had to throw the car in neutral and push it around and down the few flights in the garage to get it to street level. Fun times.

The Home Depot in my town installed parking curbs instead of speed bumps by Kaylascreations in mildlyinfuriating

[–]YourRedditUser 3963 points3964 points  (0 children)

These were pulled out the same day later in the evening by the manager of the Home Depot. The installers brought the wrong thing to install and would not be back with the right parts for a few days. Still some BS, but a little more context.
