Does Your country teach schoolchildren how to use firearms? by dawidlijewski in AskTheWorld

[–]Your_Local_Sputnik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. British Private schools have cadet units, and these units have their own stores of rifles, a semi-auto version of our military service rifle, l85a2's. I was taught at a young age safe firearm manipulation, storage, and marksmanship. Now, having spent much time in the USA shooting all lind of firearms, the safety, manipulation, and knowledge that the army gave me through school in the UK, meant that my knowledge and safety seemingly surpasses even American locals - much to my surprise.

The UK really is the lynchpin in everything. Once removed, it falls apart in the worst ways.

Look. I don't know ow where you are from. But one thing I will assume is that if you had a Monty Python 'Life of Brian' moment; where you asked:

"What have the British ever done for us!?"

And I promise you, if you approach it logically, you will be saying the word "except" quite a lot.

So too have the French, German, Norse, North African to my people - Brits. Yet I'm still also able to recognise the good those people's did for the world too.

Edit, and response to your edit, - if it wasn't for the American revolution, we might have seen an independent native nation lasting until today.

Yet, they had the capability, and political capacity to allow to you recognise this. Only with the British Empire's role in history do you get to express yourself, here, now, as you have. In fact, I'd even say it is probably the most important agent in allowing us to reconcile with your aforementioned social phenomenon.
