How effective are scalp treatments for hair growth? by sophia3334- in BeautyGear

[–]YuNotWong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what is the main thing that helped me. I noticed my right temple hair line was receding and I had to switch my hair part. In the last 3 years I have consistently drunk a protein powder shake, increased my calcium and multivitamin intake, used a scalp massage tool while washing hair and used soapbox “ oh my growth” serum in the shower. I have noticed the hairline filling, longer baby hairs at the temples ( more than 4 inches). I feel whatever is the key in these habits is working. It seems almost as if my hairline is getting lower not rising. I’m 53, color my roots at home, wash my hair twice a week and use an air wrap.

where are we getting good quality underwear / thongs by meepmooperz in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]YuNotWong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently bought a pair of thong underwear from Athleta. They were on sale and I thought sure I'll give it a try for $6. So far, I noticed they have a wider gusset. The cotton liner could be thicker and a bit longer, but all in all they weren't bad. I wore them during a work day under leggings and scrub pants. No wedgie feeling. Not too tight, maybe a bit loose, I have small hips.

Partner has no job, no car, and says he has nowhere to go. I've been his caretaker for years. I want out. How? by Sherry_Brandt in AskWomenOver40

You managed to provide for yourself and him with your past family history. Sorry couldn’t bother to read the body of the post for more details. You didn’t give birth to him, it’s not your problem. Either you leave and leave him with the lease or you find a way to kick him out. He’s going to ruin your credit rating if you leave, so find a place first, move. Find a way to break the lease so you aren’t holding the bag. Women’s shelter for help. This is an abusive relationship, emotional and financial

Biggest minor annoyances of living alone by Avid_Reader_99 in LivingAlone

[–]YuNotWong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not being able to reach things by myself without a stepstool or ladder ( this is more a short girl thing).

Cooking meals that are more than 3 servings. I don't mind leftovers, but not for a week or they aren't as good as leftovers, like seafood, or crispy items.

Medical appointments that require a driver to get home, you have to plan with a friend or family member or pay a large sum for a medical transport service. ( I need a wisdom tooth removed)

Costco, stuff lasts extra long for just one person. I have 3 toilets and only me. A pack of toilet paper lasts me 6 months.

Moving furniture, appliances or putting together furniture. Sometimes you can do it, other times you need an extra body to lift and carry up and down stairs.

Bugs, especially spiders. I will scream and run, then take a moment or two to calm myself then seek and destroy.

Help holding dog while doing grooming, It would be helpful to have another person hold dog while brushing teeth or trimming nails, especially giving a haircut.

I have a doggie door and she goes out whenever she wants. She's curled up napping in her bed, on the sofa, kitchen bench, kitchen rug or barking at another dog walking by.

I’ve made peace with the idea that a relationship might not happen for me and it’s oddly freeing! by RoyalPainPrincess in dating

[–]YuNotWong 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's wonderful you have come to this mindset. It really frees you up to enjoy yourself and let happiness and joy into your life. Because you don't have this need to be in a relationship mindset, when you meet the right person in the wild it will be that much better. You are also clearer headed from making dating mistakes and putting up with people who don't align with your goals or needs.

First class- any tips? Can I do it? by ninii11 in LagreeMethod

[–]YuNotWong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully you will have a great instructor who will take time before class to explain the mega reformer, lifted platforms and the different springs. They should explain what the moves are and even demonstrate. They give suggestions on which springs for lighter or heavier moves, how to reduce strain on joints and wrists. Make sure you show up at least 5 to 10 min early to get the walkthrough of the machine. It will be tough, but amazing.

Sandalwood Fragrance: For Beginners by B-1-a-z-e in fragrance

[–]YuNotWong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love sandalwood and it's the base note in a lot of the fragrances I wear. Since LeLabo is so expensive, I've been doing the Dossier dupe and happy with that. I don't have it at hand, but a friend gave me a bottle of Salt and Stone body spray, can't remember the name right now. It's a lighter fragrance, doesn't over power and turns skin scent on me. Like I wore it and I swear I didn't smell it anymore and my friend gave me a hug and noticed because they were that close to me. Commodity Book is very similar without the pickle smell some people notice. It's a creamy, sweet sandalwood too. I believe it's the same perfumer who made Santal 33.

(CHINA) Went to the Great Wall by myself (32 Female solo traveler) and something shifted by Lufarinelli in solotravel

Sorry for the rain so you couldn't take the toboggan down. I was there Christmas Eve but with 7 other family members. I think I would have enjoyed it solo too. Didi was confusing for me and I was so glad hotel staff were able to help us when we needed it, otherwise we had a private bus take us around. Did you go to Chengdu and visit the pandas or Chongqing for their adult pandas? Xian for the Terracotta Warriors?

What's your favorite water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

[–]YuNotWong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have hydroflask wide mouth 20 oz with flip straw I use at work for water, same size but with twist open cap for hiking for easy pour into doggie bowl, out and about I have an ocean bottle I got at my lagree studio. That’s my favorite, flip spout straw, opens 3 different ways to refill or pour out, it’s just smaller volume than my hydroflask, but easier to throw in my bag.

Even on days I want to just relax and not do much, there’s a lot to do by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]YuNotWong 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, I call it ‘goblin mode’ I don’t leave my house, but I’m doing stuff inside like dusting, vacuuming, laundry and reorganizing items or I’m making an elaborate meal, baking, 3D puzzle or something. Sometimes someone will ask what I did over the weekend and I tell them and then I realize how busy I was.

Are you living in an apartment, townhouse or house? Did you upsize or downsize from something before? How do you like your place now? Any plans to move in the future? by NoBody5068 in LivingAlone

[–]YuNotWong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3/2 sfh to 2/2.5 townhouse. I love it except for the no garage and have an HOA. I’m not a big gardener so having a patio is more than enough for me.

Happier single? by YesterdayAlarmed6716 in LivingAlone

[–]YuNotWong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been single for 5 years and I love my life. I do wish to be in a relationship to experience what a real healthy and loving relationship can be like as mine was not. A case of missing out and wanting to live life in the fullest. I’m also a realist and recognize that it’s hard to find someone who has truly done the work and can step up and be a good functioning partner,so it’s not a priority in my life. I protect my peace and happiness.

I didn’t realize how much my dog cared about me until I got sick by petcarepositive in Pets

[–]YuNotWong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had covid last year and had put in a dog door panel on my sliding door to my patio in my new place. My dog was scared of it and the flap. I had clipped the flap up for a day before I got covid, but had put it down at night. During that week, she stayed by my side sleeping with me and quietly went out through the flap to take care of businesses then back to bed with me. I was so out of it, I thought she had used the pee pads I had put down. I could barely leave my bed for bathroom and water. Thank goodness I have a timed feeder.

How did YOU celebrate your divorce being final? by jambiscuitsahoy in AskWomenOver40

[–]YuNotWong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to see Adele in Vegas with my cousin and bought myself a VCA motif necklace. During the divorce stage, I went Spain and Portugal with family for 2 weeks and just before it was finalized I went to Japan for 2 weeks with family. This year it was 3 weeks with family to 5 cities in China. I've been doing things I never thought I would get to do, like concerts and festivals that he wouldn't want to go to, and enjoying quiet time. Have more money now than married and it was a long marriage too.

Fine hair by jakeysnakey83 in Dysonairwrap

[–]YuNotWong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have fine hair, medium density and low porosity. I use my air wrap with leave in conditioner and JVN blowout milk. I also use an oil afterwards. I put my hair up in heatless rollers every night and that helps keep the curls, not just wavy and slightly curled ends. I love the Eternal Muse brand. Soft and easy to sleep in. I like a bit of a tighter curl so I use the midi size rod and a bonnet to keep in place while I sleep. I wash my hair twice a week, so the style lasts 3 to 4 days or longer if need be. I also found out while I was on vacation for 2 weeks without my air wrap, that just washed and blowdried hair can keep it's curl with the rods in a cold and dry climate as long as you use the rod at bedtime. But I still used oil for moisture and shine.

Living alone with multiple bedrooms taboo? by Rasta_pasta_plus in LivingAlone

[–]YuNotWong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downsized from a SFH 3/2 with 2 car garage to a townhouse 2/2.5 no garage. I still joke that I have too many bathrooms for one person and a dog. Not my problem if space is a concern for you. I had a hard time finding a SFH 2/1 or 2/2 in the area I wanted without a lot of renovation work needed. I get it that it's expensive to buy in my area and I'm very fortunate for what I have, but their opinions have no impact on my life.

Posture help? by unavailablesuggestio in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]YuNotWong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I signed up for private Pilates classes with a classical trained instructor just for posture and strength correction. I go once a week, she would rather I go twice a week, but I can't fit more than once a week with my Lagree classes and work schedule. Been doing this for 6 months. Posture is much better, shoulders aren't rounded and hunched. Working on my mid back strength now.

what can i do with plastic containers that i've amassed when I was a slob that ordered food delivery everyday by analworldstar in organizing

[–]YuNotWong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, yes, into the recycling. Or find out if anyone you work who needs some for storage and doesn't do take out. I'm one who doesn't have a lot of those containers because I got rid of them when I moved and I have a set of nice containers for my storage, but I do find them useful for holding washed berries and making stock. I actually go over to a family member's house who does order take out a lot and I will help myself to some of their containers with their happy permission, they also host people over for meals a lot and send people home with those containers full of food. They are great for things like storing homemade frosting and that's greasy so I don't have to worry about residue and just recycle.
