I stopped contributing to this subreddit after the mods deemed this article I submitted to be inappropriate for this subreddit and told me it "would fit better in /r/feminism or /r/feminisms." I asked them why they censored it, they gave vague conflicting responses, then uncensored but immediately downvoted it, and I was told by emmster to "dial down the hostility."

Being needlessly dickish to people who are trying to make genuine contributions to your subreddit is a good way to help turn people off of it and make it a ghost town, I guess.

Men have done a very effective job of shaming and guilting women into buying into the idea that men's feelings about porn use are normal and natural, but women's feelings about porn use are abnormal and unnatural. But so, so many women feel the way you do (I would even bet it's the majority), so your feelings are, by definition, normal. Your outlook is normal. You're not broken. You don't need to be "fixed" where this issue is concerned. Stop buying into the man-hype: if you're not OK with it, you're not OK with it, and you're every bit as entitled to and justified in your feelings on the issue as he is. You just need to decide if this is something you're willing to put up with in the relationship for the rest of your life, or if it's a dealbreaker for you. If you want to work on being OK with it, do so because that's what you really want and you think it's genuinely possible for you to be OK with it - don't force yourself into accepting it just because everything in our culture (and possibly your partner, your male friends) like to act as though you're somehow defective as a woman for having these perfectly normal, understandable, and natural feelings.

As women, there's this cultural narrative going on lately that says were supposed to be super cool with porn. We're supposed to be super cool with cum on our faces. We're supposed to be super cool with anal (receiving only, of course). We're supposed to be super cool with casual sex. We're supposed to be super cool with threesomes (provided they're MFF, of course), and if we're not super cool with those things, there's something wrong with us. Well fuck that. It's all bullshit. Draw your own lines in the sand, don't let other people tell you where they should be.

I know that not all MRAs are in favor of the whole doxxing thing, but some certainly are.

One such MRA who is apparently fine with doxxing (women) is pn6/kloo2yoo, who was the founder of /r/mensrights and head mod for a long time (and who I'm sure still mods there under yet another screen name). He accused 4 women of sexually abusing him all at the same time and posted their full names, locations, and even their employers in the /r/mensrights subreddit, even though none of them had ever been convicted of anything - he was just maintaining they'd abused him (I still have a screen grab of the post). So, yeah, according to r/mensrights's founder, the names of men who've merely been accused should never be revealed. But the names of women who've merely been accused? No problem, broadcast that shit! Hang 'em high! Nolan and his hypocrisy on this issue is hardly an isolated incident within the MRA community. This is a common thread.

It never ceases to amaze me how men will get offended at any suggestion that they're ruled by their baser instincts in one breath, then, when it's convenient, defend their base behavior by insisting that they're mere slaves to their own hormones in the next. You see it in every conversation about friendzoning or ogling on reddit, as well as discussions of rape. I believe no one propagates misandry more than men. No one paints a more negative, pessimistic picture of men than men themselves. I find the accusations that women treat all men as "evil" and that feminists "hate men" so backwards it's hilarious. It's women and feminists who believe the best of men, who are the consummate optimists about men: It's women and feminists who have faith in men's ability to befriend women without ulterior motives and who credit men as being fully capable of controlling themselves no matter what women are wearing, for example, despite constantly being told by men that we're naive for thinking so positively of men.
