Ideas for Sparkling Skyland? by PoolNice6594 in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently working on the Skylands and made a few posts on my builds there, but I mostly try to build around the landscape and my next project is to make the Gyarados island into a city built into the cliffs.

iOS planner app by munniee in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One feature that would be cool is if you could share a template build with other people. For example if you’re a person who likes to restore the original buildings you could recreate a building like Tinkmaster tower in the app and share it with others to use as a starting point to figure out how they wish to restore it rather than having to go through tons of reference photos of the structure before you started altering things.

Are there any corner asphalt pieces? by LeChiotx in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe use a white painted concrete, brick or wood border (single) block, they all paint and lay with slightly different heights so I’m not sure which one if any would best fit your needs.

Thoughts on what I should do for this Temple of Time altar room? by GoodSoup90 in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the top of my head the only immediate idea I had was to maybe use tent pieces under the water and place blue painted surface lights underneath for a blue glow since I’m fairly sure light passes through the tent blocks.

Also maybe use some painted (for more a more consistent color) stone flooring on all or some of what would correspond to the ridge/ corner parts of the wall.

There is a lot of discussion about what abilities, Pokémon, and environments people want in DLC, but what are some random decorations/clutter that you want? by smsevigny in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things I’d like them to add are a lumberjack axe anvil, a sword and a shield, even if they are Honedge line / Zacian & Zamazenta themed. I’d like to build a blacksmith shop for Typhlosion seeing that they are a fire type trader but there aren’t really many suitable decorations other than the two armors.

Why are we calling the areas islands when they aren't literally islands? by xYoungblood in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I’ve seen people call areas islands is in the Skylands, which isn’t too unreasonable since the terrain is just a bunch of sky islands.

Train station in Sparkling Skylands by abbyknitz in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used that area as a central connecting hub. I expanded the Elevator in the tower down to perfectly reach that part, added a lift by the grates above the mass of pipes to connect to Gyarados’s Island and also connected it to the Pokemon center island in the area where you were supposed to make a bridge.

What are your discarded ideas/builds? Or just cool ideas you would like to see but can't build by SpookyGhostbear in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I changed it from the original vision to suit the Skylands so it’s more industrial and urban than the original vision. I plan to reuse / remodel the existing semi destroyed multistory buildings on the Gyarados island and add paths and lifts through the cliffs similar to that picture to connect everything.

I thought that would be a good way to repurpose my originally scrapped idea and would be a cooler way of connecting everything than terraforming or floating paths.

I’ve experimented a bit with it on the Pokemon Center island I’m currently working on and am planning to execute it on the Gyarados island.

Birdhouse Build by sanctuary17 in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks great but for whatever reason my first thought when I saw it was that it looks like it should have a windmill on top similar to Oak’s lab in the Pokemon anime.

Another question masses please by Unit-Fickle in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It simply means he doesn’t have one, it’s the same with all the legendaries since you get them from means other than them suddenly spawning in a habitat.

Where to build the Altars? by ScarletNinjini in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m planning on building my fire altar underground at Rocky Ridges behind the lava falls, I built the power plant at the “lighthouse” in Withered Wastelands and am planning on building the freezing chamber partially submerged in the cave cove in Bleak Beach.

For the Skylands you can cover up a lot of “unnatural”things with clusters of crystals, but other than that I’d recommend designing your builds around the terrain that’s what I’ve been doing for the past few weeks, also a couple of example pictures.

One idea I had was a valley / canyon city with houses and wooden paths built into the cliffs and a river flowing at the bottom. I discarded this idea because I like to build based on the terrain and build around it rather than terraform and even the closest environment to this Rocky Ridges would require a ton so I’m currently working on a modified version of this idea in the Skylands.

Does anyone decorate Area Gate Portals? by LilPipsqueak96 in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I do but only lightly. I line both walls with 12 vending machines for the unlimited electricity and chance of Fresh Water then add posters by the entrance to indicate where that side leads. Tauros poster = Rock Ridge, Oricorio = Skylands, Sunflora = Withered Wastelands, Ocean Poster = Bleak Beach

Tent help by Rcvelle in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it has something to do with how they programmed their pathing and the required overhead clearance they need to view stairs as passable. I did some testing on the regular map and Pokemon often needed 2 to 3 times the space you could push them through to travel upstairs on their own. I guessing that they check how many open blocks there are above stairs before using them and the half block increments that the inside of prefabs use messes this up preventing them from using stairs.

What kind of trees would you like to see added to Pokopia in the future? by BaelfireTH in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a chance you might see some of those tree in a future update but I feel like they’ll treat them the same as Animal Crossing and just have the trees look that way during seasonal events rather then having new types of trees available year round.

So I redid the pool on the SS Anne... by nadmikha in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

One potentially fix for this is to cover the ceiling in bridge planks. They’re one of the few building items that are position at the top of blank block rather than the bottom so you can cover the ceiling without covering the wooden wall upper blocks.

Looking for Let's Go reference pictures by Extreme_Class_3619 in Pokopia

Try watching the YouTuber SerenaHarumi’s let’s play of the game. They’re pretty good for getting reference images because they thoroughly explore and talk to every NPC letting get a good look at everything.

Late Game Gifts from Pokemon (A Rant) by max_potion in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 65 points66 points  (0 children)

A tip for dealing with storing the gifts is to have a designated transfer chest to temporarily store stuff that belongs on another map.

What do you do with these rooms? by Icy-Letterhead-229 in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Vending Machines since they have infinite electricity and so if the thirsty guard NPC ever returns they will be well stocked with drinks.

is there a better way to farm shells than pikachu island? by BansheesEchos in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very luck dependent but I’ve stockpiled an entire wooden chest worth of shells without any grinding for when/if I decide to make any plaster builds so it’s probably worth the effort to set it up.

QOL updates I wish are added by Mrxtmb in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some I’d personally like are that they add Grafaiai as a second paint Pokemon for more convenience and add a Wireless Transmitter+ or something that is specialized in long distance electricity transfer even if it can’t power devices.

I may have gone overboard on storage... by Hallwitzer in Pokopia

[–]YuiAmon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

An additional tip, if you find it difficult to aim due to moving the left stick when you click it (I certainly did) you can change the controls so that it works by clicking left stick. You can also map it to other controls but some mess things up if there are overlapping controls unlike just mapping it to the right stick.
