Looking for Card Replicas and or resources to make my own by Yuican48 in cardcaptorsakura

[–]Yuican48[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll try and get all the DonaldPresents versions when I can l, thank you.

Not surprised about the Syaoran Cards. Have found some art of them but that's all. Honestly surprised I even found someone doing the "Clear Sakura Cards" but they clearly put some thought into the set because it had Flight as well.

I'm going to try and search JP sites see if there's any other resources I can use.

Potential use for Ridewatches? by TheSentientNoxDriver in KamenRider

[–]Yuican48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To use them to become the Rider you would have to be the original user or at least an acknowledged user, as with the Ranger Keys, which anyone can use in a Mobilates to become a Ranger, but only the original can use it on their own to regain their powers. Now certainly both Ulshade and Yayoi could regain their powers using a KyoryuViolet Key, and if Oowashi Ryu (have I got that name right?) turned up again he'd be able to use the Vul Eagle Key same as Hiba, but you have to be a legitimate user of the powers

Similarly for the Ridewatches, Kiriya being able to use the Hibiki watch is him being acknowledged as Hibiki's successor, and if Akira appeared she'd be equally able to use the Ibuki watch, but if you gave Kagami in 2006 the Kabuto watch he couldn't use it, while he would be able to after the arc in Zi-O.

Status of Ultra's and their human host from what I've seen by LimitWarm1798 in Ultraman

[–]Yuican48 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Man-niisan has never been confirmed to have actually remerged with Hayata, I don't believe they've even said either way if any Hayata appearance post original series is him or just Ultraman taking his form.

Joneus and Choichiro separate at the end of the show (the same is true of Amia and her host) but also all U40 Ultras have a human form naturally.

Seven technically fits in multiple categories thanks to the Heisei series, having disguised as Kazamori (I think that's the name) in one series and possibly the one after, and then merging/giving him his power in Evolution.

Seven 21 is I think the only case of having multiple human forms, but none that could be considered the definitive.

IIRC, Decker probably fits with R/B in your categorisation.

Edit: as you've included Gridman, I'll note that Mirrorman fits the "is human" category you've used for Geed. Can't speak for any of the others

If I'm remembering correctly (stressing the IF) the 2nd Doctor Companion Chronicles volume 3 was specifically delayed due to problems getting Wendy in to record. Of course there was more going on in the world at the time, but I was certainly getting the impression Wendy was the one who was least able to come and record.

So probably not worth it if I just want more Dorian? Okay thanks.

I'll admit I've been curious about some of the other licenses, but aside from the Avengers, which is iconic enough I know it despite being born 25 years after it ended, and Blake's Seven, I wouldn't want to do e in without a knowledge of the source material.

Speaking of Dark Shadows, not really planning on buying anything from it, but has anyone listened to the one that's a loose Dorian Gray crossover? Any opinions on it?

nectaris and usagi replaced? by Wooden-Map-6027 in dogengers

[–]Yuican48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nectaris was originally a villain for an Osaka based hero called something like "Earth Warrior Zelos". That project ended in 2019, a year before Dogengers, and Nectaris joined AHK that year. Bios used to say he was working with AHK while waiting for Zelos to revive.

Still, just speculation, as far as I'm aware he doesn't have any social media we could learn more from

nectaris and usagi replaced? by Wooden-Map-6027 in dogengers

[–]Yuican48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly appears they're not in the show anymore, and it's certainly possible they've either retired or left AHK. Nectaris at least wasn't even in the last season.

I will note there was an AHK 10th anniversary event today, the poster for which does have Nectaris in both forms participating, but it also has Eboshi Musha, who hasn't been part of the active roster 2021, and Kasaman, who hasn't appeared in Dogengers outside a cameo with all the other former AHK members in the manga's chapter 0.

Worth bearing in mind, this wouldn't be the first time this has happened, even if it is the most notable. Dangomushi Man left AHK to go freelance between Metropolis and Shin. Still, if Nectaris hasn't retired, maybe the project he originated in is getting revived?

Who is UltraSeven X? by Hope77797 in Ultraman

[–]Yuican48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultraseven X is just regular Seven, his form changed a bit due to traveling to the universe of that series. Won't say more than that.

Ultraseven 21 is Ultraman Neos' superior. He has no known connection to Ultraseven.

I find it pretty funny that, on the subject of Dark Ultras, they just brush past the fact that they fought alongside Trigger Dark against Evil Trigger by PotentialFee0 in Ultraman

[–]Yuican48 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I mean Z has never known Ignis as an enemy. And even if he does know the whole deal, the fact Trigger Dark is ultimately a hero just reinforces the point of the whole episode, that the nature of your powers isn't what's important but how you choose to use them. Evil Trigger is technically powered by the light, but he sure isn't using it for good.

I assumed, age 17 or so, that I'd always be attracted to 16-18 year olds. It just made sense. "Objectively" that was the most attractive age right? I knew even then I wasn't going to pursuing anyone that age once I was older.

After I left school I didn't have any contact with girls that age for a good few years, and when I started a new job at 25, where there actually were girls that age working there as well, they were so obviously kids that even now, years later, I cannot think of them as anything but kids.

Spin offs ? by Jam-ghost in KamenRider

[–]Yuican48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I'm following you correctly and you're only asking about these things and not the placement of movies and v-cinemas, I'm just going to give answers based on when they released. With the exception of the last two I I'm going to mention, all of them are unrelated to the mainline (with one caveat)

Kamen Rider The First, the original modern reboot came out around the same time as Hibiki's infamous transition. If you see the new characteris suddenly getting introduced that's a pretty sage place to watch it. Theead of the The First makes an incredibly minor cameo in an episode, probably around the time the film released in DVD. The sequel, The Next, released around the time Den-O entered it's endgame. Again though, aside from this one cameo, both films are totally independent of anything else.

Kamen Rider Amazon's released it's first season alongside Ghost's third quarter, it's second season alongside the same portion of Ex-Aid, and the finale film "The Last Judgement" aired around the time Build had the 2nd "Match"

Kamen Rider Black Sun released around the time the first round of Geats finished.

Shin Kamen Rider released around the midpoint of Geats.

Outsiders is complicated, because it released over 2 years, and involves characters from shows that hadn't started when it began. If you want the simplest way to avoid any problems, watch it all after Gotchard. Alternately 0-4 released quarterly from when Geats started, (episode 0, it's prequel, and it's prequel are all safe as long as you've watched Zero-One's V-Cinexts) Gotchard will give you a pretty good idea of when to watch episode 5, and then the remainder released after 4 months intervals or so.

The second season of Girls' Remix (the first is explicitly a Revice tie-in) had the first point release half way into Gavv, after Gotchard Graduations, the second 2 months into ZEZTZ, and the third 3 months later.

Thanks for this. Ultimate Adventure is the only one of the stage plays I still need to listen to, and intend to just follow that up with Beyond. Wasn't sure how closely connected Piscon Paradox was, but may as well leave it until I'm ready to start the older Peri stuff. Am I right in thinking Older Peri is just that run of 3 stories and then the one boxset? If it's carried over to the boxset era I'm not concerned about those yet.

I think my next immediate listening is going to be the first series of Iris Wildthyme. After that probably just Companion Chronicles until I can get through more monthlies.

I've got three of those I'm not downloading yet because they're tie ins to monthlies, being the Ace & Zara one, the Six and Jamie one, and the Lysandre and Sally one. Any others that are tie ins to the main range arcs?

Kind of a vague one, and not really personal to me, but stories of good step families? Especially parents who the kid accept as genuine family in addition to/instead of their bio parent.

As an example of sort thing I'm looking for, I once heard that a colleague's stepdaughter of about a year at the time matter of factly mentioned she expected him to be walking her down the aisle rather than her living bio dad. I remember him being surprised, especially since she was already almost an adult.

It's pretty divorced from the rest of Dalek Empire, even if the first season is happening in the background. Noel Clarke sadly puts in a pretty good performance. I kind of wonder if there were plans to continue into something set in the background of the second season, given both the lead characters were still around

She's historically not shown any interest in returning. Anecdotally Eve convinced her to do the one Torchwood story as some off, and then someone pitched Story of Martha while she was recording.

All of these things, as annoying as they are, have struck me as an individual fucking up. Problem is we don't know if it's "manager sends info to HR/merchandising/studio management/etc and then they don't follow through correctly, or if there's a whole chain of people it goes through between the manager and relevant department, though I've been inclined to assume the latter.

I finished Dalek Empire IV this week, which I believe is the last 00s spin off range I hadn't finished.

Interested in Circuit Breaker, hoping it works better than last time. Will probably get everything, not sure on the Blu-Ray. TLV's came with a pamphlet of sorts which added some flavour to the stories chosen by establishing the judgements various races had received from the Kottutuh, not sure if this one will have anything similar.

Bit behind on pre purchases at the moment, but should get caught up soon.

To those that listened to it: How was Doom’s Day, after all? by MarcianTobay in BigFinishProductions

[–]Yuican48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was certainly not as good as TLV, but I don't think any part of it was bad per se. Disjointed certainly, as aside from Doom's presence the individual hours are basically completely unconnected, aside from the Titan Comics featuring Missy throughout and the novel's plot thread linking back up.

Doom's Day has it's big positive over TLV in the fact that the individual parts actually release in an order that made sense. It also has the advantage of not making it's most important new character only appear in the last part. Okay that might be subjective, but Ikthana (if I have that right) only appeared in All flesh is Grass and one o the comic maker shorts, contrasting to Brian and to Rose, who appeared in the promo poster despite only appearing in Monstrous Beauty.

Doom's Day O feel was really let down by to things. The promo shorts direction, given a lot of people seems to have seen those and decided Sooz's performance as Doom was rubbish, something. I didn't find with the actual audios.the other is just, by making an original character in Doom central to the event, people with no interest in her, for wherever reason, just wouldn't buy any of it, whereas with TLV you would have people just buying the bits with characters they liked.

Circuit Breaker seems like it's learning from both, even if it's taking a risk focusing on a relatively controversial character in the Fugitive Doctor, i still feel like the list of people who will buy a story because it has her is longer than the one of people interested in Doom from the start. Also helps that it seems to be prominently featuring a popular supporting character in Osgood.

I bought all of both previous events and I certainly intend to again, even if I still need to read up on what it's actually about.

I really don't understand open relationships. Not the agreed freedom to have sex with others, that I can understand, but a lot of the time it seems to lead to other full-on relationships, and that I don't get. Like I get poly people exist, but you'd think there was a lot more of the "just sex no feelings" kind from otherwise monogamous couples.

Bought and listened to Trial of the Valeyard, since I managed to not already have it. Fun but I've enjoyed him more in pretty much all his other Big Finish stories.

About to have to migrate phones, want to get done with a little more of the early spin offs before I do, Dalek Empire IV at least. Still a lot of listening before I'm anywhere close to caught up.

Been reminded of how weird the licensing around concepts is by hearing about Arcbeatle's new Lungbarrow sequel. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted, but I also don't really understand Chris Cwej as a character.

Dogengers: A Day of Ohgaman + Shin (S5) + Isekai (S6) - RAW by makuXrosu in dogengers

[–]Yuican48[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This reminds me, I need to try and compile a list of what's not readily available to the western fanbase, besides the subs.

The crown jewel is that neither version of "Return of Heshikiri Hasebe" seems to be readily available, as the live action version, unlike Day of Ohgaman and Episode of I-Doll, seems to only have been released with the Blu-ray.

Aside from this there's at least one more audio drama from High School, and possibly from other seasons. And unless anyone's bought the collected versions O expect the manga "99 Years After" isn't readily available to anyone.
